Book two does not disappoint! Mist just wants to find some peace and a connection with someone after a life time of being a hunter. Lily just wanted some chocolate, but found so much more. Story follows Mist and Lily in their fight/journey to find some kind of hopefully “normal” life together. Listened to the audio book; great narrator. Highly recommend not just the book but the audio book as well. Thank you to the author and NetGalley for the opportunity to listen to such a great story.

At the end of book 1 (My Funny Demon Valentine) we are introduced to Mist. A demon hunter who finds those who break the rules. In book 2 we see Mist decide to break the rules he has lived by for love.

This world Aurora has built is so fun. I love all the characters and the found family between them all. This is a fun paranormal romance with a strong FMC who will do everything in her power for her man (Mist). It’s a fun story you won’t want to put down.

This book is more of a monster romance book than book 1. Wherein book 1 the MMC is in human form and in book 2 he is usually in demon form. This is the only reason I didn’t love it as much as book 1.

Narration was great!

I think I’m now addicted to this series and sad I can’t go straight into the audiobook for Demon with Benefits 😩 I think I like Mist even more than Ash! He gives very similar vibes to those of Ice Planet Barbarians. I also think the plot is higher stakes in this story and pulled me in more. I really like that it leads into book 3 with the questions of the prophecy and Meph’s past because I am SUPER interested in him.
Once again, Kristen Leigh does a great job with the narration. I loved that she was able to not only perform the Irish accent, but was able to make it a very slight, almost unnoticeable accent. I feel like that would almost be more difficult to do intentionally, and it was so perfect for Lily.
I look forward to continuing this series and we will have to see if I manage to wait for audiobooks to be released.

Thank you for this ALC opportunity! All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This author is new to me and when I received this book I realized it was the second in a series. I read the first one, and while I struggled at first with that story, I ended up enjoying it and was looking forward to the second book!

You don’t need to read the first book but the story is a continuation with the same characters (along with some new ones). I preferred this story to the first in the series. So if you are on the fence on whether to continue the series, I would recommend doing it.

It’s what I would consider a fun fae book - like a cozy mystery, only for fantasy. It’s not going to take you on a rollercoaster of emotions, but it’s a cute, enjoyable story that will make you chuckle. There is also some explicit spice - and it was different than anything I’d read, and not really my thing, but it was creative and I did appreciate how realistic it was in some ways. It was only a couple of scenes, so not overly impactful to other overall story.

I listened to the audiobook and the narrator did a great job. I thought she especially did a good job with Mist. I will probably read the next book in the series and if it was the same narrator would probably opt for the audiobook version.

Thank you to Netgally for providing me with a copy to review.

Loving this series. It was great to see Mist get his HEA after meeting him in the first book. Great plus size rep and the FMC was easy to root for. The story flows easily and the narration was dynamite again. Kirsten Leigh is a phenomenal voice actor. Can’t wait for the next installment and to get to see the next couple!

Aurora Ascher knows exactly how to balance monster romance with just the right mix of spice and emotional depth, and My Demon Hunter is no exception. Mist, a demon hunter longing for freedom and a taste of real happiness, crosses paths with Lily while he’s hilariously struggling to pick out ice cream. Their connection is instant, even if Mist is still figuring out human social cues. Meanwhile, Lily is also looking for a fresh start, but as always, the past has a way of catching up. Their journey is equal parts heartwarming and intense, with plenty of growth and trust-building along the way.

The audiobook experience makes this story even better! Kirsten Leigh absolutely nails the narration, bringing out every emotional beat and making the character shifts feel effortless. Her performance really pulls you into Mist and Lily’s world, making it easy to get lost in their story. Highly recommend listening to this one!

Thank you to Net Galley for the ALC of this title!

I was a huge fan of My Funny Demon Valentine so I was so excited to get an ARC of My Demon Hunter! The narrator was fantastic. The story of Mist was not as good as Ash but i still enjoyed it. I also have to say that Demon Smut is next level smut. This book included lots of action and even some cute, funny scenes. I also enjoyed the story of sisters working together to figure out a "problem". This one is absolutely worth a listen!

This was one of the best Fantasy Romance novels I have listened to. The plot mixed in with the romance was just enough to keep my attention. They did have some “I’ve just met them but love them” times where I thought it could go too far but Aurora was able to reel it in to where the story made sense.

I liked this book even more than the last one! At first, I was worried I wouldn’t like Mist as much since he wasn’t featured much in the last book. I was quickly proven wrong as I was charmed by his adorable ignorance of the human world. Mist and Lily are so good together. I love how Mist’s confident matter-of-fact attitude boosts Lily’s confidence in herself. I also love how Lily’s easy acceptance of Mist in all forms boosts his confidence in turn. They’re so supportive of each other. I can’t wait to see what Lily’s place is in the overarching story that is building in this series. The string of down bad demons continues, and I can’t wait to read more!

Get ready for a fun, spicy, and absolutely chaotic ride! 😈✨

Lily is our fierce, plus-size queen, a fashion designer determined to make clothes that fit real bodies. Oh, and did we mention? She’s also a blood-born witch and a twin. 💃🧙‍♀️

Then there’s Mist—a demon bounty hunter who also happens to be a demon himself. 😏 We first met him in My Demon Valentine, but now he’s learning the ins and outs of human life while hiding out from Hell with our favorite demon trio. 🔥👀

When Mist and Lily cross paths, sparks fly. But when Lily’s twin finds out she’s dating a demon, well… let’s just say all hell breaks loose—literally. 💥😂

Expect slapstick humor, lovable (and totally unhinged) characters, and a whole lot of spice. 🌶️🔥 If you’re here for a wild, fun, and steamy time, this book delivers!

I am thankful for the publisher for the opportunity to listen to the audible version of this book.

Narrator: The narrator was okay for me. Not great but also not horrible. I wish there would have been a little more infliction in her voice but after a few chapters, I got used to it.

Story: This is book 2 of a series. Since I hadn’t read or listened to the first book, I was a little lost at times, but overall was able to keep up just fine. The story itself was interesting but I can be honest and say that it didn’t capture me the entire time. Maybe if I had read it instead of listening to it?

Recommendation: I think this audiobook is worth giving a try. And would recommend it for someone who wants a relatively simplistic storyline to follow.

🌶️🌶️.5
It has a lot of the same qualities as book one, possibly to a fault. While I appreciated the plus-sized witch girl rep and admiration, it felt like that was one of the few fresh parts in this installment. It was still a comfy, easy listen but lacks some of the charm of book one. Maybe the horny jail was part of what made book one so good. Even though it's not an Eva & Ash book, I still wanted to see more growth and updates about them. Kirsten Leigh also returned but didn't seem to be giving it the same energy levels as she did in book one. Also, the weird insertions of someone else to do some pronunciations was a bit off-putting as well as the inconsistency of the Irish accents. The spicy scenes were at least decent as usual. I would give this series another chance as it has two of the better characters from this one in book three but am worried it is becoming a little too formulaic.

Audiobook Review
🌟🌟🌟🌟
This is book two in the Hell Bent series, and honestly, it could be read as a standalone. I told myself I wasn't going to continue the series because I wasn't a huge fan of the first book, but I'm happy I took a chance on this one because it's actually pretty good. I mean, I enjoyed it a lot. I liked both characters! Mishetsumephtai and Lily made me want to continue this series.

The audiobook was good, but I wish it was dual narration. The narrator did a good job telling the story and bringing it to life. She was easy to listen to and understand. Listened at 2x and 2.5x speed.

Enslaved to an evil demon queen for millennia, Mishetsumephtai has only ever served one purpose. He is the Hunter, the one who drags the guilty back to Hell. But finally tasting freedom on Earth has changed him, and for the first time, Mist questions his duty. The human female who smiles at him with no idea what a monster he is, draws him in, and he’ll do anything to possess her. Lily Donovan thought the most dangerous thing about running to the corner store at night would be the aisles of junk food. She didn’t bargain on encountering chaos in the form of a man with unusual tattoos and beguiling amber eyes, stalking her through the ice cream section. Since the death of her parents, Lily has tried to forget what she is. But denial is not an option when she’s confronted with everything she’s been running from. The hunter shall become the hunted . . . And the timid shall become the fierce.

Thank you, Netgalley, and RB Media for the audiobook in exchange for my honest review.

This series is so cute. It has great banter, with sweet love stories. Each one follows a demon brother. This one is about mist, and he just thoughtful and sweet. Each couple has to deal with cross world love, and like the first one there is a series of events that prevent them from beong together.

I was excited to carry on with this series after reading and enjoying My Funny Demon Valentine which I enjoyed. Unfortunately, this one fell flat for me. I actually would have DNF’d it had it not been an ARC but on the positive I’m glad I didn’t as it did get better as the book went on.

On the positive side it’s a quirky and less come world and plot devices which I enjoy. I love the human exploration of the demons and how they try to make it in the “real” world. I also love the humor meets dark vibes to the entire book and series. There are sections of the books that grab me and hold on so that may be enough for other readers!

The main challenge is 2 fold. For the book itself the challenge lies in that I was bored for the first 45% of the book. To me that’s way too long for a book to pick up. But that maybe just the curse of a sophomore slump. I wish when traditional publishers sign on to reissue works from indie authors that they edited them to make them the best they can be but alas that doesn’t happen.

The bigger issue is about the audiobook itself and its narration . It was hard to listen to. It is hard to put into words but to wrap it up into one concept it would be that it was uneven. At times the narrator was monotonous and then all of a sudden speaking with the this breathy higher pitched voice that reminded me of the “mean girls” in movie trying to sound better than everyone else. Some times you could barely tell the differentiation between characters and other times the voice tone chosen was like a caricature. It was a rollercoaster and not a fun one. Lastly, the voices used for the same character was inconsistent, as in they didn’t match so much that I had to go back to make sure who was talking. I even had to contact a friend who had the physical ARC of the book to make sure I wasn’t making a mistake.

All this being said, I will still carry on with the series and do recommend reading it. I just don’t recommend the audiobook unfortunately. (I’m really sorry to be so harsh)z

I am thankful to have gotten the audio ALC for free from RB Media through NetGalley to read which gave me the opportunity to voluntarily leave a review.

My rating system since GoodReads doesn’t have partial stars

⭐️ Hated it
⭐️⭐️ Had a lot of trouble, prose issues, really not my cup of tea (potentially DNF’d or thought about it)
⭐️⭐️⭐️ Meh, it was an ok read but nothing special
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Really enjoyed it! Would recommend to others
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Outstanding! Will circle back and read again

I received a free early copy of this book for review. This is my own opinion. Thank you to Netgalley and RBMedia for the opportunity to review!

Genre: romantasy

Tropes: prophesy

Spice Level: 2.5/5 TAIL

Content Warning: bound servant/slave. Some of the demon violence is gross but it’s not too bad.

Okay the first one caught me off guard but I might like this one even better?

Mist is SO adorably awkward I cannot with him. Also, something I love about these demons is that there’s no toxic masculinity. He takes the flower Lily gave him back to his sad little cave in hell and I just 🥺 honestly I know these are meant to be cute and fun, and they are, but there are some layers present if you stop to think about them. The scene in his bedroom was SO SWEET AND SAD with his few belongings and how proud he was of it. (Please excuse my sobbing, I have a water moon.)

Anywayyyyy, my projected feelings aside, this book was such a fun installment to this series and I can’t wait to see where it goes next!

This story was somehow even better than the first! Mist is a demon hunter who is enslaved to an evil demon queen. Lily is a blood born witch who has been hiding her magic since her parents were murdered. Mist and Lily have a chance encounter at a convenient store and both end up smitten with one another. Mist is so new to understanding human relationships and watching hum fumble around to win Lilys affection is so absolutely adorable. The antics that ensue with.the rest of the demons trying to help are also hilarious.
My biggest issue and the reason it lost a star is Lilys obsession with her size. As a plus size girlie myself I loved the representation and that Mist absolutely was obsessed with her curves. It just felt like during every intimate scene her insecurities would come up even though Mist had continued to show her how much he loved her curves and I was hoping the book could've showed some growth in that area moved on from it completely.
