My Demon Hunter was just as perfect as it's predecessor My Funny Demon Valentine. Hilarious and action packed. I love how Lily slowly builds confidence though out the story and by the end she's such a badass she goes and saves Mist herself. I can't wait to read the next one!

I wanted to love this book but every expectation I had for it fell flat. There was too must instalove. The author did the thing I hate where they think assigning the female main character as plus size = a personality trait. Being short, being chunky/curvy is not a personality trait! Honestly, I can’t believe a book about a demon could be so white bread dull :(

Spice: 🌶🌶.5
Thank you to NetGalley, RB Media, Recorded Books, Kensington Books, Aurora Ascher, and Kirsten Leigh (audio narrator) for the opportunity to read My Demon Hunter in exchange for an honest review.
My Demon Hunter is the second book in the Hell Bent Series, a series centered around demons from Hell and their romantic escapades: the humans who fall for them. These do not to be read in order, though there is more enjoyment to doing so, as the reader will certainly be interacting with characters that were the main feature in other books in the series. Check out where it all started in My Funny Demon Valentine.
The Struggle Between Duty and Desire:
Mishetsumephtai (Mist for short), a demon enslaved by a malevolent queen for thousands of years, embodies the tortured antihero trope, and being a demon, female readers will certainly enjoy this. After meeting him in the previous book, the reader may have some empathy for the guy. His role as the Hunter, dragging the guilty back to Hell, defines his thousand year (or more) existence. Mist experiences freedom on Earth and meets Lily Donovan when out on an ice cream run for Eva (the FMC from the previous book), a human woman who challenges his long-held beliefs and desires. This meeting begins a transformation in him, revealing his internal conflict between his duties as a demon and his growing attraction to Lily. The tension between his inherent nature and his evolving emotions is the driving force of the story, with Mist questioning his purpose for the first time in his existence. His desire to possess Lily is demonstrates his need for freedom—freedom from his past, his servitude, and the darkness that defines him. It certainly doesn't help that Eva and Asmodeus seem to have something that Mist wants.
Lily's Awakening and the Collision of Worlds:
Lily Donovan represents the typical unsuspecting heroine who is forced to confront her true nature. She is a witch, and demons kill witches. Witches kill demons. Lily is thrust into a supernatural world she has spent years denying. The encounter with Mist awakens not only her own hidden powers, but also a deep, unavoidable connection between the two. This attraction explores their relationship and the novel’s message of identity and destiny. Lily struggles with who she is and the supernatural reality surrounding her, similar to Mist’s internal turmoil. Both characters must come to terms with the dark forces pulling them toward one another. The story intertwines themes of forbidden love, duty, and the battle for self-determination, using their growing relationship to highlight the complexities of accepting one’s true self, no matter the roots.
The Romance:
Undeniably drawn to each other, Lily and Mist cannot keep their distance, despite his servitude and her witch ancestry. While the spice isn't as frequent as the first book, it is definitely present and meets expectations. They certainly like playing with Mist's tail... The two must overcome the trials of their own destinies if they are ever to be together.
Final Thoughts:
I read this in almost a day. It is fast-paced, witty, humorous, all while having a more serious overall plot with the witch prophecy and Mist's servitude being major conflicts. The reader gets the fun banter from the other demons, like Meph and Belial, one of which might be hinted at being the next demon-of-focus as the series continues. I love these characters, I love the writing style, I love the paranormal element, and the spice is just right. Lovers of adult paranormal romance will certainly devour this one.

Delightfully Devilish with Heart — A Fun, Fiery Listen!
My Demon Hunter was such a fun surprise! Kirsten Leigh's narration brought so much life to the characters — Mist's gruff charm and Lily’s warmth practically leapt through my earbuds. The pacing was perfect, and the supernatural world felt rich without being overwhelming.
What really worked for me was the balance: swoony romance, cheeky humor, and deeper emotional threads (especially around freedom, identity, and trust). I’m always here for a morally gray demon with a soft spot, and Mist delivers.
I docked a star just because I wanted a bit more build-up in the final act — the resolution came fast and I wasn’t ready to say goodbye! But overall, this is a great pick if you’re into paranormal romance with sass, steam, and a big heart.
Definitely recommend the audio — it added a whole new layer to the experience! 🎧🖤

I fell out of my seat for this one!! 😱💕 If you love Monster romance, you NEED to read this book asap. I had already loved the first book but this one sucked me in even more. Starting off with the continuation of the series, we can now see the progress of the previous couple Ash and Eva. Now, we have a new couple Mist and Lily. The attraction is unbearable! ✨
Mishetsumephtai has served his queen for years hunting those who have committed crimes and taking them back to his queen. But when he is sent to fetch Ash and his brothers, he wonders what else there is outside of his job. He meets the gorgeous but shy girl named Lily who is drawn to him in an intense attraction since the moment they meet!
You will LOVE this if you love:

The audiobook narration by Kirsten Leigh expresses very well the emotions the characters are feeling. Additionallty, Kirsten is really good at creating different voices for each character making it easy for us to know who is talking in each scene.
Thank you NetGalley, RBmedia, Recorded Books, & Aurora Ascher for this Advance Listening Copy of My Demon Hunter.

A witch steps into her power and a demon is freed what’s there not to love? There are times where it’s a bit disjointed but I want to chalk it up to two species conjoining. One of my favorite aspects of the ALC I received was the way the narrator was able to give the characters their accents. The FMC, Lilly is self conscious but only in the most honest of ways, it’s truly a very realistic portrayal from a character.

I wasn’t exactly sure what to expect with this book. I went in blind and came out pleasantly surprised! This book grabbed me from the start and didn’t let go until the end. The characters were well written with great growth. The pacing was perfect. The conflict kept me glued to my ear buds until the end. The storyline was unique and completely fun. The spice was perfect! All the secondary characters captured my heart. I cannot wait to read the rest of the books in this series! I started at book 2 but I didn’t feel lost or confused.
The narrator did a great job bringing this book to life. Huge thanks to RB media and Netgalley for allowing me to listen and review this book!

I listened to the first book in this series and thoroughly enjoyed it! When I saw the second book was available on NetGalley, I immediately requested it. Once again, Aurora Ascher did not disappoint! If you’re looking for an enjoyable romance book with funny, likable characters (including demons), spice, and an engaging story, check this series out! Again, this isn’t my typical read, but it was much needed after coming off some intense high fantasy series. I also thought the narrator did a great job portraying the characters. I feel like you could read this as a standalone, but I would recommend reading My Funny Demon Valentine first to have a greater appreciation for these fantastic characters. Thank you NetGalley and RBmedia for providing me with an ALC in exchange for an honest review!

Mist has always been known as the Hunter of Hell, forced to follow the orders of his master.
When he is ordered to hunt down the four brothers and drag them back to Hell, he is given the opportunity to break the rules and find companionship with a human female. He never thought he would find a companion in the ice cream section, but when Mist meets Lily, Mist is determined to have her. Mist knows his freedom would always be temporary, already feeling the pull back to hell but Lily who is hiding power of her own is not letting Mist go without a fight. Can the four brothers and Lily help Mist break his chains before it is too late?
I was excited to delve back into this world after reading My Funny Demon Valentine. My Demon Hunter continued to build on our knowledge of Hell and the background of the four demons that are determined to stay on Earth. Although many of the main characters are back in this book, the main focus is on Mist and Lily. I loved these two characters. Their chemistry was perfect and definitely made for some spicy scenes. The ending left on a cliffhanger and makes me wonder what is next for our group of misfit characters.
Thank you to NetGalley and RBMedia for the opportunity to review My Demon Hunter. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I’m not big on audiobooks but they did such a great job delivering this one that I’m going to give more a chance. I love how all the demons have an innocence to them as they navigate the world of technology and just life in general. Mist I felt was a more complex character that has you rooting for his happy ever after and Lily was so remarkably relatable that it was easy to see the scenes play out and actually feel for them on their journey!

Cutness overload! Is it more cute because he is a demon and she is a witch? I don't, but it worked SO well. It started out as a cute rom-com and then everything went to hell ;)
I loved the chemistry and tension between our maincharcter! I was laughing and blushing- and generally having a great time! All in all it was a well written paranormal romance with banter, action, spice and lot's of demons.

The audio was well done, the narrator did a great job. I enjoyed this one more than the first book, which I did enjoy, but I still felt that I wasn't really hooked. The characters are soft and sweet, and the world is fun. It's definitely an entertaining read for anyone who enjoys paranormal romcom.
Thank you so much to Netgalley and the Publisher for this ALC opportunity, it was an enjoyable read.

Enslaved to a demon queen, Mishetsumephtai “Mist” is bound to her and serves as her hunter – it is his job to track down rogue demons and drag them back to hell. He was sent to find Ash and his brothers, but when he did, instead of taking them back he makes a deal with them and now he is staying with them and taking a much needed break from his duties. He is in a corner store buying ice cream for Ash’s mate Eva, when he meets Lily. Instantly he is captivated and will do anything to possess her. Unfortunately, Mist’s mistress isn’t willing to let him go, and choices will have to be made. Can Mist break the brand that is tying him to hell and find true happiness with Lily or is he doomed to hunt forever?
Blood-born witches, Lily Donovan and her twin sister Iris moved to Montreal nine years ago after the death of their parents. Unlike her twin, Lily has no desire to practice magic and has turned her back on her heritage. When she meets Mist, she too is captivated, but she was completely taken aback when she learns he is a demon. Yet, the connection between them is undeniable and when hell recalls Mist, Lily is willing to embrace her witchiness and brave the depths of hell to save her demon. And doing so will reveal a past that will change her forever and will bind her to Mist for eternity – that is if they can actually escape hell.
This was a great audiobook – the narrator Kirsten Leigh did a wonderful job with the characters and paced the story perfectly. The story itself was amazing, and I will definitely be reading the previous book and looking forward to future installments. This book had everything I was hoping for; magic, witty banter, a possessive hero, an equally possessive, curvy heroine, secrets, good friends, steamy love scenes, nasty villains, laugh-out-loud moments as well as a few nail-biting moments, ending with a few twists and a happily ever after. This was a new to me author, but I am hooked and will be impatiently waiting for the next book! This was the second book in the series, but it could easily be read as a standalone title. If you have been searching for a sexy, paranormal rom-com, you can stop looking because this it that book!

Thank you to NetGalley for providing an audiobook ARC in exchange for an honest review.
My Demon Hunter is the second book in the Hell Bent series, and it does not disappoint. This book is a fantastic blend of dark humor and romance, and I loved every minute of it! The chemistry and tension between Mist and Lily is absolutely perfect, making for an engaging and often steamy read.
There were several laugh-out-loud moments, particularly when Mist struggles with passing as human. His awkwardness and attempts to blend in provide some truly entertaining moments, and I couldn't help but root for him. The secondary characters are just as compelling, and I’m already looking forward to their stories in future books. Who knew demons could be so lovable?
One small criticism I have for the audiobook is that two characters from Ireland had their parts narrated with a mostly generic North American accent, which didn’t quite match their backgrounds. Despite that, it didn’t take away from the overall experience.
My Demon Hunter brings a unique twist to the paranormal romance genre, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun yet slightly darker rom-com.

It took me so long to get through this one. I enjoyed book one enough to be excited for this one, but it just felt unnecessary.

I received an e-arc of the audio copy from NetGalley, and I absolutely loved listening to Lily and Mist’s story! The narrator had a great vocal range, and I didn’t mind not hearing a male voice for Mist and the other demons. I didn’t feel like I missed out on any part of the story by only having a female voice narrate. Overall, it was a great performance and I truly felt like I was inside the story whenever I listened!!

Thank you NetGalley for this arc. This is my honest review. I took a chance on reading this one even though I didn’t much care for the first one and I’m glad I did. This was way better than the first one was and I really enjoyed these characters a lot more. This was still a pretty predictable story, but it was a very fun ride along the way I think I will definitely be reading more in the series. The narrator does a wonderful job with all of the voices for each character as well!

A spicy paranormal rom com to help you giggle the day away! This series is the most fun listen! Witty dialogue, sexy demons, sassy and intelligent women wrapped up in a bit of romance, spice and intrigue! The perfect read for a fun release from reality! I mean who doesn't want an overprotective, smoking hot demon with a very talented tail in their lives!?! Added bonus for body positive themes to help lift women up while having a laugh at demon antics! The narration is absolutely wonderful as well. The narrator does an outstanding job of helping bring the author's vision to life by enhancing the characters, their emotions and the events unfolding in the story. If you like a fun paranormal romance, then this is the series that you should start! I do recommend starting at the beginning of the series, so you get more hours of entertainment, but also so you get to know the characters and the storyline better. So far, each book builds upon the storyline of the last book and takes it a bit further.

Funny, spicy, all the things! I loved the continuation of this story and how Ascher manages to write as a "pretend" human I'll never know. Genius! Can't wait to see what is in store next!

I thoroughly enjoyed the story of Lily and Mist. While I missed the playful banter between the demon brothers from the first book, this installment offered a deeper emotional resonance.
Mist is a captivating and primal demon, his words will make you swoon; Lily, embodies kindness and strength. Lily ends up a wonderful match for Mist. Their journey is both action-packed and heartwarming, showcasing their individual growth as well as their development as a couple. Themes of self-love and acceptance are beautifully explored throughout the narrative, adding to the deep affection they both share.
I cant wait to continuing this series, as each character brings their own thrilling twists and turns and keeps you fully engaged.
