My Demon Hunter is book two in the Hell Bent series, following the absolutely hilarious and heart-melting My Funny Demon Valentine.
When I saw this ALC available on NetGalley, I had to request it! That said, I’ll admit—I was initially a little disappointed to see that this book focused on Mist. I was expecting Raum, Meph, or Bel’s stories next. But after finishing it? I completely understand and support the author’s choice.
While each book in this romantasy series follows a different couple, I wouldn’t call them true standalones. The overarching plotline threads all the books together, and My Demon Hunter plays a crucial role in expanding the worldbuilding. Through Mist’s story, we get a much clearer picture of how Hell is structured and the forces at play. Plus, Lily and Iris? Absolutely essential additions to the series!
💘 Now, let’s talk romance. Mist was the sweetest, most clueless, and unintentionally hilarious demon. His first interactions with Lily had me cackling—he was just too much in the best way possible. And Lily? Shy yet fierce, layered, and deeply lovable. Their chemistry was chef’s kiss 💋🔥
Now all I need is a book about Meph and Iris, and my life will be complete! Manifesting it now! ✨

Mist is just a golden retriever boyfriend trapped in a demons body! 🤣 The plus sized Lily is so relatable and I loved seeing her grow and learn to love herself like she should have all along! 🖤 This was such a cute read, fast paced and the plot keeps you interested. Thank you NetGalley and RBmedia for my audio copy!

4⭐️ 3🌶️ 3.5🎧
This is the second book in the Hell Bent series and I enjoyed it more than the first. I found the characters to be more relatable and the pacing to be better.
I loved Mist. He was so adorably awkward and absolutely terrible at pretending to be human. But it was so endearing. I loved how obsessed he was with Lily. It doesn’t hurt that he really knew how to use that tail. 😉
I really liked Lily. She was so kind, loving, and forgiving (I probably would have been mad at my sister a little longer). I loved how she stood up to her sister and didn’t allow her sister’s prejudice to cloud her judgement when it came to Mist and the other demons. But I found her reasoning behind why she didn’t want to practice witchcraft to be a bit ridiculous.
I mostly enjoyed the narration but I found there were a couple words that were mispronounced and when voicing Lily’s sister, the Irish accent would come and go, both of which I found a bit distracting.

I was looking for some monster smut and this was PERFECT! This book was funny and spicy. I had so much fun with the interaction of Mist and Lily. They are literally perfect for each other in every way possible! From the start of the book Mist is lonely and looking for his person. He didn’t even think it was possible for his to have that person in his life. Until he meets a curvy woman buying ice cream. Instantly there is an attraction on both ends, but the only problem is Lily doesn’t know the truth about Mist. He’s a demon…
The spice was spectacular and everything I was looking for in a paranormal romance. I will be reading the other book in the series. I look forward to meph and iris’s story!

I loved this book! I’ve been getting into audiobooks recently and this one was so good. The start was a bit slow but it picked up quickly and was very interesting.
Aurora Ascher is a phenomenal writer and I can’t wait to read the rest of the books in this series!

I loved this story it was a beautiful addition to the hell bent series. I loved getting a glimpse into Mist and Lilys story that we didn’t get previously. They fit together perfectly Lily is so empathetic and that’s exactly what he needs. Mist wants a connection but doesn’t know how to achieve it when he meets Lily who is insecure and he is determined to make her see her the way he does. If you haven’t read/listened to this series yet I don’t know what you’re waiting for. I love that the stories are interlocking but we get new characters perspective here. Can’t say enough good things about it get it!!!

I enjoyed listening to the audiobook version for the first time. I love to hear the story of Mist and Lily in the second book that brought this story laughter, love, sister love, and how love is strong between two people no matter the problems or unknown situations. I recommend readers to read book one first before reading book two to get to meet these characters. This is one of my favorite book series.

So spicy ! Loved it just as much as the first one and I can’t wait for book three!! I recommend this book

My Demon Hunter by Aurora Ascher is the second book in the Hell Bent series. While these can be read as standalones I do suggest reading them in order to make the most out of the series. I liked My Demon Hunter even more than the first! The multiple povs really give you a full view of the story. The plot was faster and more engaging. I really like the romance between Mist and Lily. Overall, this was fun and left me incredibly excited to continue the series. The audiobook was wonderful. Kirsten Leigh's voice was a great fit for this story.
Thank you to the publishers and netgalley for this arc in exchange for an honest review.

Fun and surprisingly sweet, My Demon Hunter is a great read.
With engaging characters, an interesting and fast paced plot and a unique premise, this story was highly enjoyable. Mist is a cinnamon roll of a giant scary demon, and I adored him. Lily was very human, with her body insecurities and baggage, but together and against all odds, they just seem to work.
4.5 stars and a tail

When I requested this I didn't realize this was part of a series. This is the second time I've done that. But, this didn't make a difference as the book stands alone. And I just bought the first book.
This was so much fun and spicy. It's sexy, dark, and quite funny. I listened to it within three days of walking - extended my walks to keep listening. Win-win for me.
The gist: two main characters are Lily and Mist. Lily is a non practising blood born witch and Mist is a demon trying to escape his life of servitude. It's a trope of miscommunication which was a little frustrating, but added to the heat and the tension. But it was fun to watch them work it all out in the end.
Anyone looking for a spicy fun romantasy with witches and demon - look no further. I can't wait for the next in the series.
Thank you to Kensington Books and Netgalley for the advance audio version of this book. Opinions are my own.

I loved this book so much. I have not heard of this author or ARC but it was so good I have checked out the first book on Libby. It has so intriguing smut but I didn’t mind it at all. If you offend easily you may want to pass. You don’t have to read the first to understand the book. They can stand alone but some aspects will cross over. I can’t wait for the addition of this author and books.

Book 2 in the Hell Bent Series by @aurora.ascher.author was a 5 star easy read.
The plot flowed, there was a lot of Mist moments of hilarity, and Lily was a gem of a FMC. She was fierce, strong and tool with the punches brave!
The villain sucks, but the ending was justice served!
The prophecy twist was fabulous! But the Branded ending was the chef’s kiss for me!
That tail is something else! lol. #iykyk
If the next book is not Iris and Meph… I might riot!!
Thank you @netgalley for the ARC!!

I received an ARC audiobook of My Demon Hunter from NetGalley, and I absolutely loved it! This book had the perfect mix of action, romance, supernatural mystery, and humor that kept me hooked from start to finish.
The chemistry between Lily and Mist was off the charts, and the romance was very spicy! Most of their intimate moments happened while Mist was in his demon form, which added a unique and steamy twist to their relationship. Their connection was intense and deeply emotional, making their love story even more compelling.
Aurora Ascher’s writing was vivid and engaging, and the audiobook narration made it even better. The characters were well-developed, especially Mist, who has lived for millennia in misery and loneliness. Now, he has a found family in his four demon brothers, and their bond was one of my favorite parts of the book. It was heartwarming to see Mist finally have people who care about him.
The side characters introduced in the first book added so much to the story, making the world feel richer and more alive. I especially loved Lily’s sister, who is fiercely protective of her. I really hope she gets her own story next!
If you enjoy steamy paranormal romance with great characters, an exciting plot, and humor, My Demon Hunter is a must-read (or listen!). I can’t wait to read more from Aurora Ascher!

Thank you NetGalley and RBmedia for this audiobook. The narrator did a fantastic job bringing out each character’s personalities and emotions. This was a fun, entertaining listen!! After being introduced to Mist in the end of My Funny Demon Valentine, I was super excited to get his story next! Mist, the infamous demon hunter for the Queen of Hell, goes into hiding to live like Ash and his brothers amongst the human race. He is learning about the human world and traits by Ash, his brothers, and Ash’s girlfriend Eve. Adventuring out on his own for the first store, he meets Lily and is instantly entranced by her presence and smell. Lily is caught off guard by Mist’s beauty and awkwardness that all she can do is think about him. Things start to unfold amongst them as numerous secrets are being spilled and problems arise. I loved how awkward and quirky Mist was and I kept giggling every time he said “Mine”. He has always been going through life by the rules and doesn’t realize that not all rules have to be followed especially when they are harmful or ordered by the Queen of Hell. Lily’s determination to overcome her self deprecating thoughts was empowering and relatable. I love how strong she is and isn’t afraid to admit that she struggles and is willing to fight for what she wants. Mist and Lily had an instant love connection and I think that works for their characters. I do wish we got more in depth in the family history of Lily and Iris, Lily’s sister, but I have a feeling we’ll get it in the next book. I like that we got to see the perspectives from Ash’s brothers and got to know a little more about each one. I cannot wait to continue this series.

3.5⭐️/5 but rounded up
My Demon Hunter is a light-hearted, easy read that delivers just the right mix of humor, supernatural charm, and romantic tension. Aurora Asher creates an engaging world with quirky characters and fun dynamics that make for an enjoyable escape. Kirsten Leigh does a solid job narrating, bringing a bright energy to the story that fits the tone well.
That said, I really wish this had been done in dual or duet narration—it would have added more depth and distinction between characters, especially with the romantic angle. Also, the POV shifts were a bit jarring at times, moving from first person to third without much warning, which disrupted the flow a little.
As for spice, I’d give it a 2.5/5—more of a slow burn with light heat than anything super steamy.
Overall, it’s a fun listen that doesn’t take itself too seriously, perfect for when you want something entertaining and easygoing.

This is the second book in the Hell Bent series and I think it will be a big hit!
You do not need to read the first ( I hadn't) to enjoy book 2!
This novel has a lot to love- It's got a full figured heroine, a misunderstood demon hunter from hell, and a lot of shenanigans that the two get up two in-between trying to help said demon escape from the clutches of his master. The stakes are high, but as the book unfolds, for me it was a cozy read with problems that were epic, but so supernatural that they felt...low stakes thus making the read much more escapist and fun.
For me the insta-love was maaaaybeeee a little too insta, and I did find it a little unbelievable that our FMC would go through so much trouble for a demon she barely knew, but hey... isn't that what makes a book like this fun to experience?
For me this really was about a 3.5 - but I rounded it up to 4 because I think the book does exactly what it says it will do- describe the adventures of a human woman (with special skills), a shy Demon (with special tail skills) and their rag tag bunch of supernatural friends.

I absolutely love this series. I’m so glad I was able to get this from NetGalley. I cannot wait for the final book. Who would have ever thought that 3 demons and their hunter would be so much fun to read about as they learn about human life, what’s right and wrong, and fall in love!

This book is so good and I found it somewhat charming and even funny in parts! I mean…the tail part hahaha. IYKYK. The audiobook is done so well! I definitely recommend listening to this series! Adds to the story for sure!!

Gleeful Goblin Review: I am incapable of resisting a good anti-hero story of learning how to love/be loved, be vulnerable, unlearn toxic patterns, and break away from unhealthy family dynamics for a healthy found family. This story has all of those story beats and MORE. Even though this is Book 2 in the series I went into it without having read or listened to Book 1 and had zero problems following along. Because the author did a great job with giving enough snippets of background for side characters I didn't feel lost at any point AND I'm jazzed to go read Book 1 because I'm digging the world building the author has done here.
In terms of the main characters I found both of them charming in their own ways, which considering one of them is a demon is really saying something! The connection and sparks between the main couple absolutely make sense and the author does a great job of balancing a low stakes/semi fluffy romance feel with high stakes risk from external forces. The romance is believable, sweet, and definitely steamy but isn't the only thing going on in this book! The story has a strong plot that supports the romance and builds out the world for future books, which I loved.
The narration is well done, especially considering it's one narrator doing all the voice acting. The voice work was distinct for each character but never dipped into an accent or affectation that took me out of the story which was fantastic. Overall, a really wonderful experience and I'm thrilled to have listened to this book! 5/5 Stars
