Calling all paranormal romance lovers!
I couldn't help but love Mist. He's so quirky, and watching him figure out how to interact with humans and with Lily was hilarious. Both characters had a lot of growth, which I always love to see in a book. The twists and turns kept me hooked, and I really appreciated how easy it was to follow along and read it as a standalone. There are definitely some other characters I'm eager to learn more about too. The narrator, Kirsten Leigh does a great job portraying both Mist and Lily and many of the other characters. The tones and inflections were spot on and Leigh truly elevated the story for me. If you're into alpha males who are total teddy bears, curvy heroines, and steamy scenes be sure to check this one out!

What that tail do, Mist??
This was so fun! I immediately fell in love with the characters in the first book and then squealed when I got approved for this second ARL. The narrator is amazing and you could perfectly hear Lily’s accent.
Hooray for a curvy sized representation. A demon prisoner and a witch discovering her true power. I loved this pairing so much! Mist is so out of place at first but of course he fits perfectly with Lily. I don’t know how this author does it, but the lore and individual stories blend so seamlessly into each other. A nail biting plot along with juicy spice is my favorite combo.
Meph and Iris, I am coming for you! I just know Meph is going to skyrocket to my top fave of the demons.

My Demon Hunter is a fantastic romance. I love the characters. They are interesting and have amazing chemistry. This book is well written and engaging. The plot is suspenseful and full of adventure and intrigue. I loved this book and can't wait for the next book in the series.

This is Mist and Lily's story, and I really enjoyed it. We met Mist in the first book, he is a Demon Hunter who is sent to bring Demons back to Hell. Seeing some of the other Demons on Earth living a different life, he decides he wants so much more for himself, but it won't be easy. When he runs into Lily he wants more than anything to be with her. I am enjoying this series , the narrator is really good. I am not the biggest fan of third person, but was fine with this one. Thank you Netgalley for an Early Listener Copy in return for my honest review.

3/5 🌶️
Thank you Netgalley and the author Aurora Ascher for the early access audiobook of My Demon Hunter.

Synopsis:
💫Enslaved to a demon queen for millennia, Mist, the Hunter tasked with dragging the guilty to Hell, has never questioned his duty. But when he experiences freedom on Earth, a human female with a hidden true nature draws him in.
Since Lily lost her parents, she’s tried to forget her true self, but denial is no longer an option when she confronts her past. Neither Mist nor Lily can deny their attraction. However, Mist’s temporary respite from Hell is fraught with danger, and disobedience that will bring a worse punishment than death. Yet, he can’t resist the woman whose scent captivates him.💫
My thoughts:
💫This is the second book in the Hell Bent series, and I thoroughly enjoyed it more than the first one. Mist’s possessive nature was swoon-worthy, and we get more interaction with all the supporting characters. I loved Lily and how much she was willing to sacrifice for her love with Mist. They are just as funny in this book as they were in the first one.💫

Really enjoyed this , it had a sprinkle of every emotion and was really well written , I loved that I could listen along while doing what I need to , once I started playing it I didn’t pause it for anything , the stories sucked me straight it , I just wish it was dual story but other than that would definitely recommend

After reading the first book in the series, My Funny Demon Valentine, I was ready to dive right into the next. Even though these books have demons, I wouldn't consider them dark romance. They give off a lighthearted, almost rom-com vibe.
The series structure introduces side characters in one book and then gives them their own story in the next, rather than exclusively following the same two characters across multiple books. I like this style of writing and structure since it gives readers a chance to get slightly familiar with the other characters first before committing to discovering more about them in their own story. The author did a good job of allowing just enough secrets and storyline threads to hang for the rest of the characters to make you want to keep up with the series progression. Speaking of the other guys, in this book and the previous one Meph reminds me of Ridoc Gamlyn from Fourth Wing, especially in the audiobook. I'm looking forward to his book since he's been the comic relief so far.
My Demon Hunter shifts the spotlight from the original main group of characters of the first book to Mist and Lily. We still get little updates on the others throughout this book, which I appreciated. It was nice getting a glimpse into the house life, seeing how everyone is doing, and getting a better sense of the world-building.
This book follows Mist as he tries to figure out what freedom really means after watching others escape Hell and start new lives. Similar to Ash, most of Mist's story centers on learning how to open up emotionally, learning feelings and healing his emotional baggage. In terms of Ash's story I feel My Funny Demon Valentine answered more questions overall. This one ends on a cliffhanger, but it works well since it sets up a story for Lily's sister Iris.

I really enjoyed this audiobook! The narration was crisp and clean. Single female narrator for the entire book, who I thought did an awesome job with the variety of male voices she needed to portray.
Lily and Mist…. They’re so dang cute! I really liked their story. Mist is a demon from hell, and Lily is a complicated girl with a tragic past. They meet in a convenience store one night, and the man is hooked! His awkward speech (you know, since he’s actually from hell) is adorable!! And clearly Lily thought so too! There’s a bit of a mix up with Lilys twin sister Iris, and poor Mist ends up jumping to conclusions and he takes off!! How often do you see the MMC running off because of assumptions and miscommunication?! Almost never! And for that MMc to be an absolutely giant demon hunter?! Ugh I loved it.
I will say, some of the repetitive language was a little too much for me. It feels like I’m being beaten over the head with the point, rather than letting me get there on my own. Bring it up once or twice, and I’m happy. But that is entirely a me thing. As a whole, love the plot, the writing style, the spice, the characters, all of it. I’ll absolutely be hitting all the others in the series now!
Also, tail play, so, it’s a win lol

The series just gets better and better!!
Mitshetsu aka Mist has my heart ❤️ . He is sooo cute and straightforward in his own sweet way! I love his character growth and the confidence he gets after defeating the queen. Lily was extremely relatable with her insecurities and when she started facing them head on! It filled me with hope. Her character had a great plot twist which I didn't see it coming....same as Eva in the first book. This one had a great emotional depth and definitely it stands true to 'The hunter shall become hunted and the timid shall become fierce'
The narrator, as usual did a fantastic job with narratives and voiced the perfect voice notes for each of them!
A great job 👏🏻👏🏻 done by the writer and exceptionally well executed!!!
Can't wait for the strong headed Meph and Iris to clash!!!!!!

This book was very fun! I really enjoyed the plot that this book followed, and I was never bored while I was reading and listening.
The main characters, both having some paranormal abilities, helped me get into the story much quicker than it normally takes me to get into more paranormal/monster romances. I really enjoyed how they both were portrayed as separate, whole people with their own interest and lives rather than being partial characters that then complete each other.
My only issue was that the smut always seemed to happen quickly and suddenly and kind of interrupted the flow of the book, but it was well written, so I will let that slide.
The narrator really kept me intrigued throughout the whole book, and I really enjoyed how they portrayed the story.
Thank you to Kensington for the ARC and ALC!

This was a very fun book. I didn't realize it was the second book so I was slightly confused but that is ob me. Once I was able to figure out all the characters it was easy to get into! I enjoyed the story, the main characters and all the side characters. The spice scenes were great and the portrayl of the FMC was amazing and inclusive. I loves hearing her inner thoughts that many women can relate to. Looking forward to the next book in the series!

Thank you to RBMedia and NetGalley for the audio arc of My Demon Hunter by Aurora Ascher. This was such a fun and oftentimes silly book, and I had a blast listening to the audiobook narrated by Kirsten Leigh.
I adored Lily and Mist’s storyline, and the two of them together were just absolutely hilarious and adorable perfection! I also loved the way that Mist was so dang matter of fact about his absolute adoration and love of Lily’s body exactly the size that it was (she is a plus sized girly). More of that in books, please!
I really enjoyed the first book in this series, but I actually think this sequel is even better! 4.25⭐️

4 Stars, 3 Spicy
✅️ Set in Canada!
✅️ Curvy FMC
✅️ Possessive MMC
This book was so much better than the first in so many ways! There was more plot, better world building, more background and great setup with suspense for another book. I loved the characters. The character self-esteem and confidence issues were well done, and their character development in overcoming their issues was better written than the first book. I loved the interactions and the more action-packed content. And this book was spicier! The pace was good too and it didn't stall out a bit at the end like the first book. You can see such an improvement in the Author's writing abilities just between these two books. I have no doubts that book 3 will be even better and I can't wait to listen to it. I'm thoroughly enjoying this series.
The narrator did a great job voicing all the characters with unique voices and personalities. She nailed the subtle hint of Irish in Lily's voice, and the somewhat thicker Irish accent in Iris's voice.

I was honored to receive the ARC of "My Demon Hunter", I had to read the first one in the series before I could pick this up (4 stars). The way that Aurora Ascher builds her characters is flawless. She gives great detail to why each demon reacts the way they do and this book outlining Mist is no exception. His obvious link to Lily swirled with primal attraction provides a true north for Mist to rely on when faced with some of his darkest secrets. Lily is capable of surpassing them all, working with Mist's "brothers" to provide a Mist's true purpose, the one that he wants, brings this episode of the Hell Bent series to life.

This was funny and cute. Not as great as I was hoping but still good. The audio was entertaining enough to keep me listening.

For hundreds of years Mist has been enslaved by an evil queen. He’s been forced to hunt down and retrieve evildoers to bring the back to hell for her. His most recent job ends up giving him a taste of human life and everything changes. He no longer wants to be the hunter, the problem is he’s bound to his queen and if he doesn’t follow orders he will die. When he stumbles upon Lily, a human witch, her scent and her personality captivates Mist and gives him something to fight for. Can he find a way to free himself from the Queen and save himself or will time run out before he’s able?
Lily may know she’s a witch but she wants nothing to do with that part of her. Since her parents died she’s turned her back on it all, even when her sister pushes her to join the coven with her. She just wants to be a normal human woman but can she? When she meets Mist there’s an instant connection to him and she he helps her to overcome her self consciousness about her body. Will Lily accept her witch powers to save the demon she loves?
I listened to the audiobook version of this story and really enjoyed the narration of this one. I felt like the narrator did a good job of using different voices for different characters and keeping the voices consistent throughout the story.
Overall the spice was a nice addition to the storyline instead of taking over the storyline, which I appreciated. I would give the spice was a 3.5 and the overall storyline was a 4. The banter between Mist and Lily as well as the other characters was very entertaining also and added to my overall enjoyment of the story.

In my review of the first book, I compared this to Ice Planet Barbarians and I still feel that way after reading this book. I also figured out why I feel that way. It's the way the demons think/talk, it's very similar to the blue aliens. If you don't like that kind of book, this might not be the book for you, but I am firmly in the pro-alien/demon romance category.
When I found out book two was about Mist, I was a little disappointed. He wasn't my favorite character from book one (he was actually one of my least favorites). I was pleasantly surprised by this book (I'm still most excited for Meph's book)!
Tropes:
💙witch x demon romance
💙"enemies" to lovers (they never "hate" each other but witches and demons are natural "enemies")
💙Overprotective/animalistic MMC (biting, sniffing, growling, etc.)
💙touch her and die
💙I'd go to hell and back for you
Thank you to NetGalley and RBMedia for a copy of the audiobook in exchange for my honest review.

✨ Book Review: My Demon Hunter by Aurora Asher ✨
A huge thank you to NetGalley for the advanced copy! 📖💖
My Demon Hunter was an absolute joy to read! From the very first page. I would recommend having already read My Funny Demon Valentine, because it will do most of the heavy lifting setting up the world-building of this unique universe.
🔥 I was hooked by the relatable characters, their real-world insecurities, and their deep desires. It's so refreshing to follow Lily, a curvy FMC with insecurities about her body and a personal flair for fashion and clothing design. Mist is a heartthrob of an MMC whose experience as an enslaved demon makes him sympathetic and even more caring as a character. Their depth and struggles made every moment of their journey even more engaging.
💘 The romance? 5/5 peppers! 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ This book fully upped the ante from My Funny Demon Valentine, delivering swoon-worthy tension and steamy moments that had my heart racing.
⚔️ And let’s talk about the action and drama—so well done! Every twist kept me glued to the page, making it impossible to put down. Not once did I feel bored or disconnected.
Honestly, I have zero complaints—just pure excitement for what’s next! I can't wait to see how these characters continue to grow and how the world expands in future books. 📚✨
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ – Absolutely recommend for any paranormal romance lovers out there! 💜👹

I just finished the audiobook ARC for this book.
I feel the voice actress did a great job, and it didn’t get comical when it came to the male characters.
I know we all ignore it but sometimes it’s so bad you can’t!
I read the first book yesterday in preparation for listening to this today. So it’s all really fresh in my mind and I really like the series.
It’s fun and it’s spunky, I definitely liked the back-and-forth banter and the slower burn of the first book, though we definitely can’t really call it an actual slow burn. But this book felt a lot more instant lovve to me and I just wasn’t as into that. This book was more a dish out of water MMC and an insecure FMC. Kinda wish we would get a confident plus size FMC one day…. But that’s neither here nor there.
However, the world building continues in this book and the side(not yet main) characters are getting to be more and more in depth. It’s obvious that each of the brothers are going to get their own book and I love a good “family” series.
The only reason this isn’t a five stars for me was I just wasn’t as into the instant “love”.

I absolutely gobbled this book up, I neeeeeeed the third book asap. I loved the slightly different voices between the characters when chapters switched POV, it sucks you into the story more. Also love a strong FMC who saves her man. Highly recommend to anyone who is a fan of paranormal romance.
