This book was so much better than the first in so many ways! There was more plot, better world building, more background and great setup with suspense for another book. I loved the characters. The character self-esteem and confidence issues were well done, and their character development in overcoming their issues was better written than the first book. I loved the interactions and the more action-packed content. And this book was spicier! The pace was good too and it didn't stall out a bit at the end like the first book. You can see such an improvement in the Author's writing abilities just between these two books. I have no doubts that book 3 will be even better and I can't wait to listen to it. I'm thoroughly enjoying this series.
The narrator did a great job voicing all the characters with unique voices and personalities. She nailed the subtle hint of Irish in Lily's voice, and the somewhat thicker Irish accent in Iris's voice.

I was honored to receive the ARC of "My Demon Hunter", I had to read the first one in the series before I could pick this up (4 stars). The way that Aurora Ascher builds her characters is flawless. She gives great detail to why each demon reacts the way they do and this book outlining Mist is no exception. His obvious link to Lily swirled with primal attraction provides a true north for Mist to rely on when faced with some of his darkest secrets. Lily is capable of surpassing them all, working with Mist's "brothers" to provide a Mist's true purpose, the one that he wants, brings this episode of the Hell Bent series to life.

This was funny and cute. Not as great as I was hoping but still good. The audio was entertaining enough to keep me listening.

For hundreds of years Mist has been enslaved by an evil queen. He’s been forced to hunt down and retrieve evildoers to bring the back to hell for her. His most recent job ends up giving him a taste of human life and everything changes. He no longer wants to be the hunter, the problem is he’s bound to his queen and if he doesn’t follow orders he will die. When he stumbles upon Lily, a human witch, her scent and her personality captivates Mist and gives him something to fight for. Can he find a way to free himself from the Queen and save himself or will time run out before he’s able?
Lily may know she’s a witch but she wants nothing to do with that part of her. Since her parents died she’s turned her back on it all, even when her sister pushes her to join the coven with her. She just wants to be a normal human woman but can she? When she meets Mist there’s an instant connection to him and she he helps her to overcome her self consciousness about her body. Will Lily accept her witch powers to save the demon she loves?
I listened to the audiobook version of this story and really enjoyed the narration of this one. I felt like the narrator did a good job of using different voices for different characters and keeping the voices consistent throughout the story.
Overall the spice was a nice addition to the storyline instead of taking over the storyline, which I appreciated. I would give the spice was a 3.5 and the overall storyline was a 4. The banter between Mist and Lily as well as the other characters was very entertaining also and added to my overall enjoyment of the story.

In my review of the first book, I compared this to Ice Planet Barbarians and I still feel that way after reading this book. I also figured out why I feel that way. It's the way the demons think/talk, it's very similar to the blue aliens. If you don't like that kind of book, this might not be the book for you, but I am firmly in the pro-alien/demon romance category.
When I found out book two was about Mist, I was a little disappointed. He wasn't my favorite character from book one (he was actually one of my least favorites). I was pleasantly surprised by this book (I'm still most excited for Meph's book)!
Tropes:
💙witch x demon romance
💙"enemies" to lovers (they never "hate" each other but witches and demons are natural "enemies")
💙Overprotective/animalistic MMC (biting, sniffing, growling, etc.)
💙touch her and die
💙I'd go to hell and back for you
Thank you to NetGalley and RBMedia for a copy of the audiobook in exchange for my honest review.

✨ Book Review: My Demon Hunter by Aurora Asher ✨
A huge thank you to NetGalley for the advanced copy! 📖💖
My Demon Hunter was an absolute joy to read! From the very first page. I would recommend having already read My Funny Demon Valentine, because it will do most of the heavy lifting setting up the world-building of this unique universe.
🔥 I was hooked by the relatable characters, their real-world insecurities, and their deep desires. It's so refreshing to follow Lily, a curvy FMC with insecurities about her body and a personal flair for fashion and clothing design. Mist is a heartthrob of an MMC whose experience as an enslaved demon makes him sympathetic and even more caring as a character. Their depth and struggles made every moment of their journey even more engaging.
💘 The romance? 5/5 peppers! 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ This book fully upped the ante from My Funny Demon Valentine, delivering swoon-worthy tension and steamy moments that had my heart racing.
⚔️ And let’s talk about the action and drama—so well done! Every twist kept me glued to the page, making it impossible to put down. Not once did I feel bored or disconnected.
Honestly, I have zero complaints—just pure excitement for what’s next! I can't wait to see how these characters continue to grow and how the world expands in future books. 📚✨
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ – Absolutely recommend for any paranormal romance lovers out there! 💜👹

I just finished the audiobook ARC for this book.
I feel the voice actress did a great job, and it didn’t get comical when it came to the male characters.
I know we all ignore it but sometimes it’s so bad you can’t!
I read the first book yesterday in preparation for listening to this today. So it’s all really fresh in my mind and I really like the series.
It’s fun and it’s spunky, I definitely liked the back-and-forth banter and the slower burn of the first book, though we definitely can’t really call it an actual slow burn. But this book felt a lot more instant lovve to me and I just wasn’t as into that. This book was more a dish out of water MMC and an insecure FMC. Kinda wish we would get a confident plus size FMC one day…. But that’s neither here nor there.
However, the world building continues in this book and the side(not yet main) characters are getting to be more and more in depth. It’s obvious that each of the brothers are going to get their own book and I love a good “family” series.
The only reason this isn’t a five stars for me was I just wasn’t as into the instant “love”.

I absolutely gobbled this book up, I neeeeeeed the third book asap. I loved the slightly different voices between the characters when chapters switched POV, it sucks you into the story more. Also love a strong FMC who saves her man. Highly recommend to anyone who is a fan of paranormal romance.

I received an ARC of this audiobook through Netgalley.
I loved this book from start to finish. It’s an unusual romance that sneaks into your heart so quickly.
To be clear, this book isn’t about hunting demons. This book is about an enslaved demon whose job it is to hunt other demons and a very powerful set of witch twins.
It was really so great. Please read it! Fantastic narration too!

I am literally obsessed with this series, Thank you SO incredibly much for the ALC. I applied initially because I LOVED My Funny Demon Valentine and the audio book really made the book immersive for me. So when I saw that this was available, I had to jump on this!!
I LOVED Mist and Lily’s story, it was so sweet and funny and really hit the spot. Plus I love all of the lore behind the demons and their origin stories. Aurora does such a good job of writing fantasy romance books that are short and sweet, plus have plot depth including character arcs. It’s like almost unheard of in my eyes to find such an amazing author like this. I truly love this series and have preordered the rest of the books!!

I am thoroughly impressed! Aurora Ascher is a new author to me, and I’m so grateful I decided to take a chance and listen to this book.
Right from the start, I was captivated. I felt a mix of anger and sympathy for the enslaved male protagonist—a character longing for love, freedom, and a life of his own.
This paranormal love story is full of unexpected twists and turns, keeping you on edge as you root for that elusive happy ending. Beyond the romance, it’s also a tale of friendship—a group of individuals struggling to express their deep feelings of care and love for one another. Their actions, though, reveal the true depth of their bond.
There were moments that made me laugh out loud and others that brought tears to my eyes. Ultimately, the ending was deeply satisfying.
This is what makes a great book! Read it. Listen to it. Enjoy it.
Thank you, RBmedia for providing this book for review consideration via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.
Although a copy was provided to me for review consideration, I bought both the Audible and Kindle versions from Amazon after listening to this audiobook.
It is that good!

Book 2 of the Hell Bent series did not disappoint. My Demon Hunter was another fun and sexy read that I thoroughly enjoyed! The characters are so easy to connect with and love. Like, honestly, when reading this book I kept saying, I LOVE this demon. 😂 I love that the demons are wanting to feel the feelings and are open to love. Love truly does conquer all! I also enjoyed how the female main character developed body positivity and empowerment. I’m looking forward to reading the upcoming books in this series. I listened to the audiobook and while I’m not a huge fan of third person narration, I did end up getting used to it. The narrator did a great job. 😈
I would like to thank RBmedia and NetGalley for giving me an ARC (which did not sway my opinions or review). Oh, and I loved this book so much that I already bought/preordered both books in the Hell Bent series.

Following the reprint of My Funny Demon Valentine in January, Aurora Ascher‘s second Hell Bent novel, My Demon Hunter, is out today. Here, instead of focusing on one of the four “brother” demons escaped from Hell, it follows the hunter sent to find them and his decision to find a human pet—ahem, girlfriend. Mist ends up with Lily, a powerful former witch who might hold the keys to his freedom.
Why I Chose This Book:
My Funny Demon Valentine was such a fun read, and I couldn’t wait to continue the series. Mist (Mishetsumephtai) was introduced in the first book, and he’s even more clueless on how to interact with humans than the other demon brothers. I knew My Demon Hunter would be another funny, escapist read.
What I Liked:
- Hilarious demon-human interactions. At the beginning, Mist doesn’t understand a lot abut people or how to talk to them. For starters, he refers to girlfriends as pets. He doesn’t get the point of movies, he’s not sure how to buy ice cream at the store, and he doesn’t see the purpose of phones. This makes for some silly conversations when he first meets Lily.
- Lily is so shy! She’s an introvert with lots of self-doubt, and I love how she comes into herself throughout the book. Mist raises her self-confidence, but she ultimately becomes the savior here, which I really loved.
- Mist is so sweet! After years enslaved and forced to hunt other demons, he just wants to be free and find some happiness. He’s new to it all, but I love how he treats Lily and eventually comes to see his own self-worth.
- Demon interactions. While their conversations with humans are funny, I also love seeing the demons talking to each other. They’re so playful, rude, angry… just silly, brotherly interactions all around. They feature slightly less here than in the first book (Mist isn’t one of the four brothers, after all), but they show up enough and are always a highlight.
What Didn’t Work for Me:
- It all unfolds so fast! This book leans into instalove and a rapid timeline. I would have liked if there was more time for Mist and Lily’s relationship to develop before the Hellish drama started.
Audiobook:
Kirsten Leigh does a marvelous job of narrating My Demon Hunter. Her voice seamlessly captures the different personalities, the nuances of each scene, and the overall lighthearted vibe throughout the novel. If she narrates the subsequent books in the series, I will happily listen to each one!
Final Thoughts
My Demon Hunter picks up right where the first novel left off, bringing those demons back for more while also introducing Lily and a few other characters (who will appear more in later books). Mist and Lily are so cute together, and I love how theirs turns into a story of rescue and unbreakable connection. It all goes by so fast, but this book is equal parts fun and full of heart.
The Hell Bent series will continue to be republished by Kensington this year, and you can bet I’ll be reading all of it! Meph and Iris get their story in Demon with Benefits, out this July, with Guardian Demon and Beauty and the Demon set to follow after that. Stay tuned for those reviews!

Loving this series! I love the idea of these hot demons evolving into swoon worthy men. This series is well written with relatable characters, each one working at overcoming their own odds. Highly recommend.

I had the distinct pleasure of listening to the audiobook version, and it was great I finished it in just over a day because it was really addicting.
This book is a sequel in the Hell Bent series, and although it makes it a lot easier to understand some of the surrounding dynamics, you might even be able to get away with reading as a standalone (but why would you want to skip the first one?).
Mist is a demon in the human world, and he meets Lily, a feisty woman who makes him consider what else life has in store for him.
Without spoilers, the spice is amazing, Mist has quite a few talents. 🤭 I love that Lily is fierce and curvy and ready to throw down if the occasion arises.
The surrounding characters are memorable, and I sincerely hope that there will be another installment.

4.25 star read! Excellent second installment of the Hell Bent series! I fell in love with Mist and his awkward mannerisms and personality! I loved getting to know the characters from the first book more, plus being introduced to some new characters!
I hope we get more from Iris and Lily in the third book. I’m interested to know more about their powers and find out exactly what they can do!
FYI this is a spicy demon romance.
I listened to this on audio and enjoyed the narration very much!
I am thankful to have received this as an audiobook ARC from Netgalley and RB Media. I really enjoyed this one!!

Mist and Lily's meet cute was adorable! I enjoyed the story and the "villain". I enjoyed the growth of the characters. I'd go into more detail about it but don't want to spoil main plot points.

I didn't expect to enjoy this one quite as much but I am really loving Ascher's Demon romantasy series that features a different cursed 'monster' as they find their mates and battle different kinds of evil and curses. The sex was SPICY (hello tail play!) and the bond between the twin sisters was great. I can't wait for Iris's story next! Good on audio and perfect for fans of authors like Katee Roberts or Ruby Dixon. Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an early audio and digital copy in exchange for my honest review!

3.75 stars
This story follows Mist, who was introduced in book one, My Funny Demon Valentine. Mist is a Hunter who has very black and white thinking. Until he sees the demons from book one finds a human. Lily is a curvy artist woman who struggles with insecurity. When they cross paths, a beautiful relationship grows.
I enjoyed the audiobook. Narrator, Kirsten Leigh did a wonderful job bringing the characters to life.

I would like to start by saying this author knows who to write a plus size character that you will love. Yes she LiLy is shy, sweet and insecure but she has such a good evolution and development. Ans we have Mist that we already seen some of his softness picking out for the first book, at the beginning of this book, him being nice and evolving into this teddy bear of a demon, yes Eva has an amazing influence, but his own character picks thru the decisions and mannerisms. I love that they all stick together and kinda adopted him into the gang.
As for the audiobook is good, easy to follow, great narration.
