I thoroughly enjoyed this book, finding it to be an entertaining, spicy, and suspenseful read. While it is part of a series, each book is designed to be read independently. Nevertheless, I am eager to read the first book, My Funny Demon Valentine, to enhance my understanding of the series.

I received the Audiobook from Netgalley.

This book is the second book in the Hell Bent series. The series is about a group of demons that left hell to be free. And of course they are all going to fall in love.

These are such cute books. I am really enjoying them. The audiobooks are well done and story lines are a lot of fun.

If you're looking for a demon romance with a good mix of plot and smut these are a great choice. I need a good plot with my smut and this has a great balance. Looking forward to the third one in a few months.

I would like to thank the publisher for sending me an audio-arc in exchange for an honest review through NetGalley.

Mishetsumephtai -- Mist -- has been enslaved to an evil demon queen for millennia as a Hunter who drags the guilty back to Hell. But after agreeing to pretend he didn't find Ash and company, he's been hanging out on Earth with the guys and Evangeline and actually enjoying himself and this small taste of freedom. But when he runs into a human female when out running an errand, he finds that he is drawn to her more than anything he's ever been drawn to before. Lily didn't think the hot guy with the tattoos and amber eyes was anything but human, and when he's kind to her she's immediately drawn to him. Especially since she's doing everything in her power to forget about what she is. As the two of them are inexplicably drawn together, there's forces at work trying to keep them apart -- like the demon queen attempting to drag him back to Hell to punish him for his disobedience. Will they find a way to be together? Or were they doomed from the beginning?

Poor Mist. He's so clueless throughout this entire book as to how to interact with people because he's been a slave for so long and he's constantly questioning and second guessing everything. And despite him being a big bad-ass demon, he's such an overprotective cinnamon roll. I loved his dynamic with Lily. And then there's Lily herself who is clueless as hell despite her upbringing. Her sister Iris annoyed the crap out of me, but I know we get her story in the next book and I can't wait to see her knocked down a couple of pegs because damn dude, take a chill pill. I loved how much Lily was all about demon Mist from the very beginning and was totally accepting of it. These two were so sweet together, and absolutely clueless at times, but what I loved was how protective they both were towards each other. I mean, what Lily does towards the end was bad-ass too, and she's not scared to defend her man, er, demon, from anything and everything.

I love this series so much so far. I cannot wait for book 3. And the audiobooks have been awesome so far. Definitely recommend them.

ARC / ALC Review:

This book was AMAZING. I loved and enjoyed the ins and outs of the book and how great the storyline merges with the first book story. It left me wanting more, although it wasn't super spicy, the comedy of it makes up for it.
The narrator did such an amazing job with the story of the book, and with it being just one narrator the range was outstanding!

Thank you to Aurora, Kensington, and NetGalley for the opportunity to review this book.

I received this ALC after finishing book one in the hell bent series and am very appreciative. But overall this book wasn't for me. I am not sure what didn't hook me if it was the narrator or whatever but it just was ok for me. Thank you

3.5
If you love paranormal or monster romance and a fun romcom, this is a great book for you! It is light-hearted, funnily awkward with some great action and suspenseful moments, plus a few sexy bits. I didn’t realise it was book 2 of the Hell Bent series, reading it as a standalone didn’t impact my reading experience or understanding of the world. I listened via the audiobook.

We follow Lily, a plus size fashion designer who lacks confidence and has distanced herself from magic, since her parent’s death. Mist, a Demon Hunter has been spending time on Earth learning how to ‘human’ while getting a reprieve from his enslavement to an Evil Demon Queen. They have a very adorable awkward meet cute on an ice-cream run late one night, that unbeknownst to them sets into motion events that see their worlds entangled more than they realised.

The writing flows well, I enjoyed the unravelling of the plot even though it has familiar tropes and story style. The book is in third-person with multi POV, which worked well for the story. I enjoyed the modern setting but don't love the use of slang and references from when a book's written (this is maybe just me) but wasn't too off putting here. The spice took me by surprise - I didn’t think I was into that - you can work out what I meant when you read it!

The audio narrator really matched Lily’s character, which was great even though it is written with multi POV’s. The accents, tones and voices were consistent. I always listen to audiobooks between 1.2-2x speed or they feel too slow to me, this sounded fine sped up.

Lily is amazing, one of the most lovable endearing FMCs! Mist comes across as quite warm even if awkward and a bit creepy initially. Would happily recommend this audiobook as a perfect buffer between intense or dark books or for someone who loves a paranormal romcom.

"Engaging But Somewhat Predictable"

Aurora Ascher’s "My Demon Hunter" is an enjoyable romance with an intriguing premise and compelling characters. The chemistry between the Lily and Mist is strong, and the world-building is immersive, drawing readers into a dark and alluring supernatural setting. The writing is smooth, and the pacing keeps the story moving at a decent clip.

However, while the romance and action are entertaining, the plot follows some fairly predictable beats. Certain twists feel telegraphed, and some side characters could have been developed further, especially Lilly's sister and family history. That said, if you’re looking for a fun, steamy, and slightly dark romance with supernatural elements, this is a solid pick.

Would I read more from this author? Absolutely. But I’d love to see future books push boundaries a bit more.

Pretty good story, the romance was cute, had great character progression, and overall would be a great book for readers wanting to get into some light monster romance.

I was in a depresive funk before listening to this book and the humor withing brought me out of it. This book was tons of fun, witty, and even thought provoking. I loved the way Mist (MMC) would ask why things are they way they are in the human world.

Genre: Monster Romance
Tropes: Monster Instincts, Protective MMC
Representation: Plus Size FMC
Spice: Open door, 3/5 🌶
Favorite moment: When he uses his tail inside her 😅....

I read this as a stand alone and it works well to read as such.

Thanks to RBmedia for an ARC of the audiobook.

My Demon Hunter is the second book in the Hell Bent series. This book is about Mist and Lily and is told from both of their points of view. Mist is a Demon Hunter, and Lily is a witch.

Mist has been enslaved for a millennia and now he is testing his freedom on Earth. He meets Lily and instantly has an attraction to her. Lily has feelings for Mist as well, but can tell there is something off about him.

Lily finds out Mist's secret, but he has other factors that are trying to bring him back to the underworld and it's not going well. Lily will do anything to help save Mist and Mist will do anything to save Lily.

Will Lily and Mist get their happy ending? One thing I love about this series is how these demons act on Earth. They don't know the human protocols and I find it amusing when they are trying to figure things out. I loved seeing the other characters in this book as well, and I can't wait for their stories!

Whoopsies! I accidentally read this book before the first in the series... but I totally dove right in anyway! I enjoyed the characters very much and I can't wait to learn more about them when I read Ascher's first in the Hell Bent series.

This book is hot, hot- spicy, so reader beware! Very graphic context, but once again I enjoyed the whole book!

I listened to the audiobook version of this story and I have no complaints about the narrators voice. She did great jo with the growly demon voices.

Thank you to Aurora Ascher, RBmedia, and Net Galley for the ARC!

Audiobook Demon Hunter by Aurora Ascher is A Love Story Hotter Than Hell (Literally!) 🔥👹💘
Ladies and gentlemen, grab your holy water and your emergency chocolate stash because Demon Hunter is here to drag you straight into a whirlwind of sizzling romance, supernatural chaos, and enough tension to fry an egg on your Kindle.

Meet Mist—a demon-enslaved, soul-snatching Hunter who’s spent centuries dragging the wicked to Hell. Sounds like a dream job, right? Yeah, no. Turns out, tasting freedom (and possibly ice cream) on Earth makes a guy rethink his whole “eternal damnation and destruction” career path. Especially when he lays eyes on Lily, a totally normal human woman just trying to buy some snacks, who suddenly finds herself being very intensely stalked through the frozen foods aisle. (Sir, this is a grocery store, not a speed dating event.).

But surprise! Lily isn’t just some random human—she’s got secrets darker than Mist’s past, and now they’re both on a collision course with destiny, doom, and very questionable life choices. Will Mist resist the urge to claim Lily as his own? Will Lily stop running from her past and start running toward this brooding, tattooed menace? And most importantly—will they ever actually get to eat the ice cream??

Demon Hunter is a spicy, action-packed, paranormal romance that will have you swooning, screaming, and possibly side-eyeing the freezer section on your next grocery run. 5/5 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥—highly recommend for lovers of tortured heroes, fierce heroines, and romances that bring the heat… and maybe a few demonic consequences. 😈❤️

This second book in Aurora Ascher's Hell Bent series, "My Demon Hunter" was a fun, suspenseful, and spicy ride. Book number 2 starts off right where we left Ash and Eva from 'My Demon Valentine' - Mist has recently moved into Ash's vacated space in the apartment Bel, Meph, and Raum share. When Eva sends him on a late-night ice cream run, Mist meets Lily, but what starts as an adorable meet cute dissolves into disappointment when Mist misinterprets Lily's awkward attempt to get his phone number. With some help from his newfound friends, Mist reconnects with Lily, only for them to be separated again. With Mist enslaved to Paimon, and Lily with dark secrets in her own past to be revealed, will these two be able to explore their instant attraction to each other? Demons and witches aren't meant to be together, will Mist and Lily get to be the exception?

This book was such a fun follow up. I love that while this novel focused on a new set of main characters (one of which, Mist) was introduced in 'My Demon Valentine', we still got to see good page time for other characters in the series that I am growing to love. I particularly can't wait to until we get to see a novel written focusing on Belial, I believe we're starting to see his careful facade crack under the strain of being his brother's caretaker, and I'm interested to see where Aurora Ascher takes his story line. We also get an intriguing hint of a new possible villain for the upcoming novels in the series, which is exciting. I can't wait to see what comes next for the found family that Aurora Ascher has created in this series.

I listened to this as an audio book, and really enjoyed it. This novel book had the first narrator that I've been able to increase the reading speed slightly (because I can sometimes get distracted easily when the narration is slower paced) but I was still able to clearly understand her. I was impressed by the very subtle Irish accent that she was able to produce for Lily. The only thing that could have made this audio book better would be if it was in dual narration, but it was otherwise delightful to listen to.

Thank you to NetGalley and RBMedia for providing me with an ARC of this audiobook to listen to in exchange for my honest review.

I love this spicy, quirky, fun series. This book takes you on another quest with a new set of characters who grow on you throughout the story :)

A sequel to the hilarious and cute My Funny Demon Valentine focused on the demon hunter, Mist. Lily gets courted by Mist, who is so clueless to the human ways it's adorable. He breaks the demon rules to spend more time with Lily. Meanwhile, Lily is working on having clear communication with the demon and convincing herself that him being a demon doesn't matter, or does it??

The plot thickens and tied to previous series concerns as the pressure to get all of the demons back to hell increases.

Loved the demon bros banter from previous books and can sense the books to come will continue to be added to my TBR. Narration was great, cute and funny paranormal romance.

Thanks to NetGalley and RB Media for the ALC in exchange for an honest review. Audio release on 3/25/25.

My Demon Hunter by Aurora Ascher is the follow-up in the series.
It is also written in third-person POV. The pacing and style kept me focused throughout the story. Kirsten Leigh absolutely brought this role to life and I loved it! She is so talented.

Mishetsumephtai, or Mist, is the hunter from My Funny Demon Valentine. He was previously tracking Ash and after observing them realized he might want what they were enjoying. Enter Lily Donovan, and everything Mist thought he knew shifts.

The way that Lily sees herself was so raw and realistic to me. I felt like I could see myself in her, and I am so appreciative for those moments.

I loved watching their story unfold, and yet again the banter and friend group was top tier. Aurora is such a talented author and I love this series so much!!!

Excuse me while I scream into a pillow. Idk what else to do because Mist and Lily’s story had me SWOONING. And now I’m angry at being single and not having an immortal demon willing to die an eternal death just to keep me safe 😂

I absolutely cackled at the s*x shop memory scene and then her cursing her lack of purchases.

I really enjoyed book one but I think so far book 2 is my favorite! I’m loving this series and truly cannot wait to read more with the other demons and especially Iris 👀

Thank you to NetGalley, for providing me with an ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review. All thoughts are my own and are in no way influenced by early access to this title.

Second book in and I'm hooked. These books while spicy, romantic and otherworldly - are hilarious! I still love how there's a main focus on Lily and Mist but everyone else is still part of the story enough that each of these books flow seamlessly. Ready to dive into Meph and Iris' story and see what antics this gorup gets up to next.
