This is a fast story with strong female lead characters. Four college friends, now out in the world, are trying to figure life out when everything changes. This is a suspenseful, great read with friendship and loyalty mixed in.

Lucy is living her post-grad dream with her best friend, Addie, and two other girls in a historic house in Georgetown. She has kept a big secret from the girls, which hasn't seemed to matter, until Lucy's boyfriend, Josh, goes missing. Then, all her secrets come to light, as Josh had been poking around into Lucy's background. Addie moves out of the house and in with her parents while Lucy seeks to restore her relationship with Addie by finding out what happened to Josh. And what happened is the unimaginable.
I enjoyed parts of this book, especially surrounding Josh's investigation into Lucy, and the writing, dialog included, was good. That said, I found the book depressing and the ending unsatisfying.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC. All opinions are my own.

Thank You, Netgalley for the digital copy of this book. The opinions are my own and freely given.
This story really focuses on two friends, Lucy and Addie. Addie has a boyfriend, Josh, who is the son of a very powerful politician who has been dead for years. When Josh goes missing and is later discovered murdered, Lucy will stop at nothing to make sure he best friend Addie is not the prime suspect. Lucy lied to Addie when they first met, and Josh has uncovered her lie. Addie doesn't believe Josh when he tells her that Lucy is a liar. Addie tells Lucy that Josh attacked her on her run. But who killed Josh?
I didn't love this book, although the story unfolded nicely, I found myself a little bored with it. If you like secrets between friends and political coverup, you'll enjoy this.

Watch Us Fall was very entertaining and had fantastic twists and turns. The characters were very likable and their back stories helped me feel like they knew them. I enjoyed the pace of this book and appreciated the chapters coming from different point of views.

Really loved the premise of the book and all the complex characters. The book hooked me and I couldn't put it down! Really awesome ending to the story.

For me, the pacing was off. This book moved far too slow for a book that is meant to thrill the reader. The ending was anticlimactic and I didn't ever feel like I was on the edge of my seat. The set up took too long and the thriller itself wasn't really interesting to me.

A group of friends who call themselves “The Sweeties” live together in the suburbs of D.C. The four girls are trying to find their dream jobs, while Addie has also found love with Josh, a local tv celebrity. After their breakup, Josh is reported missing, with all eyes on The Sweeties. The Sweeties shared everything about their lives with each other, except one is hiding a secret. Could this secret be the reason Josh is missing?
The story is told from multiple point of views, but felt it was missing Addie’s, who is such a big part of the story. I also didn't feel there was character development. Watch Us Fall started out strong, but felt repetitive mid way through. I wish there was more backstory on side characters that were brought in as the story continued. An average suspense and a quick read.

Great book. Enjoyed reading it. Had a little suspicion of what had happened but it kept me engaged. I would have liked to know more about some of the characters and also what happened next.

I hadn't heard of this book or author before so I was pleasantly surprised when I ended up enjoying this one! While I thought this one had a slow start, I was surprised by the ending. I love when mysteries/thrillers have that "ah-ha" moment at the end, and this one had just that. It was the perfect bingeable length, and I loved the DC setting. I will be on the lookout for what this author has to offer in the future.

Thrillers are not usually among my most favorite genres; however, this one did grab my attention because of the budding friendship of the four female college students. This is a gripping psychological thriller set in the glittering yet shadowy world of post-grad Georgetown. Christina Kovac crafts a tense, emotionally layered mystery centered on four close friends—known as “the Sweeties”—whose lives unravel after one of their exes, a high-profile journalist, mysteriously disappears. Told primarily through Lucy’s increasingly unreliable perspective, the novel explores obsession, loyalty, and the secrets we bury to protect the people we love.
The story is fast-paced and blends the glamour of D.C. politics with the emotional messiness of toxic friendships, offering a slow-burn suspense.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All comments and opinions are my own.

Thank you NetGalley for this ARC. I love a good thriller and I flew through the first half of this book with ease. I really enjoyed the twists and characters. I was however not a fan of the ending. I would say the book started great but ended in disappointment for me. It was just bleh

What a unique read!!! I was hooked almost until the end. Then I just felt like I was lied to!
What a story though. This is my first time reading this author and I got lucky with a prerelease copy!

I thoroughly enjoyed reading Watch Us Fall. From the very beginning, the story and characters pulled me in. As the mystery surrounding Addie’s boyfriend unravels, we follow a group of young women navigating a strange and unsettling situation—one that tests friendships, loyalty, and trust.
What really stood out to me was the depth of emotion, particularly the intense attachment one friend, Lucy, has for another. Her obsession—and the lengths she’s willing to go to because of it—adds a chilling layer to the narrative. It’s not just a thriller; it’s a study of human behavior, need, and the dangerous side of love and friendship.
If you enjoy twisty plots, complex female relationships, and suspense that doesn’t let go, I would totally recommend this book.
Thank you NetGalley and Simon & Schuster for the privilege the ARC.

I have a lot of thoughts. I'm not sure if that was the point of the book, but the main character seems so unstable and I never quite liked her. Josh's story could have been better explored, same for Addie's. I almost feel like this would have been better told from Addie's POV. The book feels incomplete

The Sweeties Addie, Lucy, Estrella, and Penelope are college best friends turned successful career women sharing a home in D.C. Their seemingly perfect lives take a dark turn when Addie’s ex, Josh, a hotshot investigative journalist, mysteriously disappears while chasing a major story. As the media swarms and investigators close in, the question lingers: what really happened to Josh and could one of them be involved?
I flew through the first half of this book. The suspense was strong, the pacing tight, and I was completely hooked. But somewhere around the halfway mark, it started to lose momentum. What felt like a promising thriller quickly became far fetched and flat. The twists didn’t land, and the surprise ending lacked buildup or explanation, which left it feeling unsatisfying and disconnected from the rest of the story.
A solid premise with a strong start, but ultimately, it didn’t deliver the thrilling payoff I was hoping for.

This was an enjoyable, twisty, turny tale that featured well-developed characters with interesting backstories. One small critique was that a character was supposedly looking at the Key Bridge while in DC. As a former Baltimorean, I know that isn't possible. The story almost made me miss a good snowstorm. This story kept me guessing until the very end.

Interesting suspense novel. I struggled to get into this book in the beginning and I still feel like there was a lot that caused it to drag on. It was an interesting premise and enough to keep me reading to find out what happens. Overall an entertaining read but not one of my favorites.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading Watch Us Fall. From the beginning, the story and the characters were compelling. As the mystery of what happened to Addie’s boyfriend unwinds, we see a group of young women trying to make their way through a strange situation. We also see the obsession of Lucy, one of Addie’s friends, and the results of her obsession. This one will keep you turning pages until the very end.

Watch Us Fall offers an intriguing premise, delving into the seemingly idyllic lives of "the Sweeties," a group of post-grad best friends sharing a glamorous house in Georgetown. The initial setup promises a captivating blend of friendship, romance, and exciting careers before it's all upended by a disappearance.
The mystery kicks off with the vanishing of Josh, the ex-boyfriend of the group's "queen bee," Addie. This immediately throws the tight-knit group into disarray, and Lucy's determination to find him drives the narrative. The novel attempts to explore the lies and delusions that lurk beneath cloistered groups of female friends, and there are definitely moments where this theme shines, revealing the cracks in their carefully constructed lives. As the investigation unfolds and secrets begin to surface, the suspense does build, particularly with the detectives' suspicions turning towards the friends.
However, while the concept is strong, the execution sometimes falls a bit short. Lucy's "obsession with the case" and the unraveling of her own "troubling secrets" are central to the plot, but at times, the pacing felt uneven, making it harder to fully immerse myself in her frantic search. Some of the revelations, while intended to be shocking, felt a little predictable, dampening the overall impact of the "sinister realities" the story aims to expose.
Overall, Watch Us Fall is a gripping mystery with a compelling look at the dark underbelly of seemingly perfect friendships and celebrity. It’s a solid read, but it didn't quite reach the heights of truly unputdownable for me.

Such a great book. Five stars hands down. Thank you for letting me read in advance. I cannot wait to see what else this author has to offer.
