“Could Should Might Don’t” is an exploration of the concept of futurism. Nick Foster offers a framework of four ways of thinking about the future (i.e. could vs should futurism) and explores historical and cultural factors that have shaped each view of futures thinking.
If you are looking to better understand the “futures” space, models for thinking about the future, and hoping to get a broader context for futurism, this might be a good book to pick up.
Ultimately, I don’t think this was the book for me as I went in expecting more of a memoir-style book that would pull more directly from Foster’s experiences doing futures-driven work at Google and other organizations.
