First of all, I devoured and I mean DEVOURED this book. Y'all - this was so spicy, I literally stopped reading because I couldn't believe this wasn't indie LMAO they were ACTIVE and I LOVE that for my girl!!

This story follows Nina, who is THEE girlboss (in a slay way, not a Hobby Lobby mug way) of all girlbosses. She's goal-oriented, passionate, and has no time for nonsense. She essentially has a roster because she refuses to settle for anything less than everything, which was a great plan until she dissects her feelings for Russ, a member of the team. I loved the banter these two had, the SPICE (again, I was gagged LMAOOOO the audio was giving DIPSEA HELLO ???), and how seen she was! A strong 4.25 for me because 1. I do think we should just punch people that are fatphobic and 2. Russ did pmo bad in one scene, BUT overall, I had no notes for that man.

Can't wait to read the next book in the series - this was so well done!!!

Also, Wesleigh?? as the narrator??? Pls i'd listen to that lady read her grocery list my GOD

I really enjoyed Curvy Girl Summer by Danielle Allen so I was very excited to hear about Plus Size Player and this book did not disappoint! This book follows Nina Ford, an influencer and aspiring plus size model as she navigates both the dating scene and the fashion world. Nina has never been one to want to settle down and when we're introduced to her in the book she's dating a couple of different guys, all who serve a different purpose. She's clearly more into Russ, the one she has deemed "the fun one" but they come across some obstacles that make the idea of them being together more difficult than it should. This book is hot and fun and listening to it on audio was an extra treat. Wesleigh Siobhan's narration was everything!

Plus Sized Player was an enjoyable read; it was fun, and well written. I fell in love with the FMC- Nina. The development of Nina was well thought out. She owned who she was as not just a woman, but one that is plus sized. Nina also owned sexual expression and enjoyment; she did not hold on to societal norms.

I enjoyed this book so much, I purchased book 1-- Curvy Girl Summer. I must not forget the narrator-- Wesleigh Siobhan, is now on my list of faves to listen to.

I received this audiobook as an Advance Listening Copy, this is my honest review (Releasing June 10, 2025). This audiobook was chefs kiss! Nina was living her best life & the true definition of not putting all your eggs in one basket, until she put all her eggs in one basket!! The way Russ ALWAYS did what needed to be done to show he paid attention to Nina is exactly the energy a real man should bring. WOW that plot twist of who they really were….. being in a happy healthy relationship is always the goal. I enjoyed this audiobook so so much!! I found myself gasping and smiling from ear to ear.

Favorite Quote: “I only spend time with people I enjoy. I only do things I want to do. I only have sex with people who get me off. So, my time is never wasted and my energy stays high.”

Definitely 4.5 stars. Very enjoyable. Could have dialed it down with the plus size...well, I guess not it's called plus sized player. It was good. Well written. Great plot. Great storyline. Can't wait to read more from this author!

Another Phenomenal book from Danielle Allen. Plus Size play is everything. Russel Long the man that you are!!!!!!
In this story we follow Nina Ford who is a plus size model and fashion influencer! Nina goes on slot of dates and believes in having a roster. Period as she should. Enter in Russ, Russ is her favorite one. Yall this man everything he’s kind, funny, thoughtful and shows up for Nina. The two start hanging out more with each other and although Nina isn’t interested in settling down it’s different with Russ.

The banter, the spice, the friends, chemistry in this story was sooo damn good! I love how Nina stood firm in her decisions and goals. She’s so fierce, confident and secure. Russ is so down bad for our girl and loves her so much!
Lastly the Audiobook is a banger Wesleigh Siobhan is becoming one of my favorite narrators!

I had a good time with book 1 of this series but I had a FANTASTIC time with this audiobook. From the start I was captivated by Nina and her life. She was unapologetic about her choices of playing the field and was confident in who she was and I literally want to be her!! She was such a good fmc to root for I truly love everything about her and how she was portrayed. The parts where she was met with being horrible to her was so inspiring because she backed down from nothing and told them exactly what she was thinking.

Russ was such a good counterpart for her. They complemented each other so well. Russ backing her up while letting her stand on her own two feet in regards to dealing with the disrespect was everything to me. The depiction of plus size modeling in a fatphobic industry was done really well and I appreciated it's inclusion, especially in a way where there was no backing down Nina just said how about f-k you! lol

Not only were they matched so well but the spice was SPICY my god. They were hot hot HOT.
This was messy at times but in a real life way that had me completely in the book. I am so glad they got their HEA and that we got to see Nina be herself to the fullest.

Really enjoying this series and the audio was done so well. Absolutely recommend this one to someone looking for spice mixed with realness to the upmost degree! Always go for the "fun" ones!!!!

Danielle Allen gives us something special when it comes to Nina. This is a sexy, high class, well-written book and the audiobook gave me everything I didn’t know I was missing!! Nina is content creator who is living and loving life, she’s not looking for a man because why settle with one man when he’s not whole package? She’s looking for fun and a good time! She’s got her rotation on lock honey! Russ is a man of adventures and is always looking for a good time, as declared as “the fun one,” he’s always sure to bring Nina a good time. As Nina’s career takes off in the best way possible, she finds life gives you the unexpected when you least expect it. What happens when you allow life to guide your steps into the unknown? This was so sexy and you NEED to know that the sex don’t miss!! It’s definitely a hit! Ms. Danielle Allen, you’ve done it again!!

Wow. I just finished "Plus Size Player," I'm completely blown away. Danielle Allen crafted a truly exceptional story that grabbed me from the first page and didn't let go until the end. The characters are richly developed and relatable, and their journeys and vulnerabilities feel incredibly authentic. Wesleigh Siobhan's narration brings them to life with such nuance and skill, adding another layer of depth to the entire experience. I laughed, I teared up, and I rooted for them fiercely. The plot is engaging and cleverly woven, with twists and turns to keep things exciting. Allen's writing is simply beautiful – descriptive and evocative, painting vivid pictures in my mind. This book is a genuinely satisfying and memorable read that has earned a permanent spot on my favourite shelf. It's the kind of book you finish and immediately want to recommend to everyone you know. Brilliant.

Plus Size Player is the kind of book that has you blushing and kicking your feet. I love the was Nina handled herself throughout the book, even when there were times that I wanted to shske her. She was such a joy to read and I found so many similarities between her and I. I loved listening to the audiobook. Wesleigh's acting is TOP TIER narrator work and I love listening to her. She adds such incredible nuance to each character and makes me feel like I'm watching a movie in my head as I listen. Once I realized that this is a series, I now need to read Aaliyah's book. The way the three best friends' lioves are interwoven and happening simultaneously is such great writing! Definitely loved Danielle's writing and I can't wait to read Jazz's book too!

Danielle Allen has done it again! Curvy Girl Summer was my book of the summer last year and Plus Sized Player is at the very least my book of the month. The quips and banter that Danielle gives her characters is unmatched.

As a black plus sized woman, she makes me feel confident in myself. That I can be unapologetically me. It is not often that you see confidence and poise in black characters as such. I can't wait to have a copy of this on my shelf next to Curvy Girl Summer. Also she just released that she will be having another one?! How am I supposed to wait that long?! I can't wait to read everything that Danielle Allen has to offer. If she goes on tour I will be finding a date to see her, how can I not!

Danielle Allen brings us a humorous, sexy feel good romance with Plus Size Player! We are introduced to Nina who is an energetic fashion content creator who has no plans on settling down anytime soon! Thats why she has her roster comprised of her favourite picks.


Nina is a confident fmc and Russel compliments her perfectly! I loved the dynamic between them both!

The relationship between Nina and Russel is written so beautifully! This novel was such a feel good romance novel with the spice on 10! and it had some funny parts as well! This book was equally spicy with plot! I love the way how Ms Allen built up the story before we got to the big plotwist. not once did the story dip or get boring.


Now the narrator is what makes this story 10/0! Her narration brings this book to life. I am now on the lookout for more by Danielle Allen and Wesleigh Siobhan!

This was a fantastic read.

I was super nervous for some of the book for the reveal to happen around how Russell and Nina were working together.

In the end the way all of it was handled was fantastic. The lack of a third act breakup around the issue really stood out. Yes they had time apart but it wasn't a disastrous third act situation.

Loved the audiobook narration

Wesleigh Siobhan Is by far one of my favorite narrators. She always does an amazing job. This was my first single narrative by her and she nailed all the characters perfectly!

I think Danielle Allen did an amazing job with Plus Size Player. I love how driven and confident Nina was through the book but also allowed her self to become vulnerable throughout. I love how she never compromised what made her comfortable and never settled when it came to her body, her career or her love life. I also loved how Rus never pressured Nina and allowed her the freedom to move on her on terms. Both of these characters balanced each other in the best ways and I loved that for them.

Ms. Danielle Allen come to the front please! This was a great follow up to Curvy Girl Summer. Nina was the perfect representation of what size representation means. She was smart, funny and beautiful. The way she navigated her dating life was perfection along with the way she handled her personal life. Question was the Flava magazine a reference to Living Single, cause I caught it! The audiobook narration made the story feel real like I was watching a movie. Russ could get it! That man was the definition of talk you through it. The whole story had me cackling in public and kicking my feet! Loved every moment of it. I loved that Nina did not have to give up her dreams and that Russ was able to achieve his dreams while still protecting Nina. This story was SPICY!!! I loved every moment of it!

First of all the narrator was a 10 outta ten, helping the novel achieve the vibes of being funny and equal parts sexy. Nina was a new, colorful, type of character that I enjoyed: a plus size fashion influencer that has an active roster of men even (though it was clear who she'd end up being with). I loved the hilarious and realistic dialogue throughout the story and Russ was a great love interest. The business conflict storyline lasted a little too long for me, but I could appreciate a tangible obstacle being thrown in their love story. Looking forward to reading book 3!!!

It is extremely difficult to follow up a book with book 2 being almost more fire than the first book! But my goodness, Danielle come to the stage and accept your award!! Firstly, thank you to NetGalley for the advance listener copy and MacMillan audio. This book can be read as a standalone, but it also can be read like as a sequel to curvy girl summer because the timelines overlap. I thoroughly enjoyed this one!

I really don’t have much to say because it was amazing! it was fire from beginning to end. The book was so good that I had to put it down several times because I was giddy, kicking my feet and screaming in public. Everything from the side characters, the plot development, the tension, the spice -everything was right on the mark for me. I loved how tiny parts of the story always loop back around to make it cohesive. I also really love how this book sets up for a third book in the series!

One sentence summary: Nina spends her time with the roster because she does not believe that one man can fit all of her needs but combining an opportunity of a lifetime and one man from the roster starting to stand out more everything gets complicated!

Recommend this book to folks who love a good story, women with a FULL roster, those who desire a RICH man, women who are fond of sisterhood & shenanigans & those who like the door to be WIDE open for the spice.

EXCUSE ME!? But this book just blew me away! I'm in love with everything about these characters and their lives. Nina is confidence and sass personified, and Russ is the ideal hype man. He supports his woman unapologetically and lets her shine. I can't wait to read more from Danielle Allen.

I had chills listening to this audio book. Wesleigh Siobhan had be crying and giggling throughout her entire performance. I can't wait to listen to more of her work.

Danielle Allen does it again! Curvy Girl Summer was one of my favorite reads of 2024 and Plus Sized Player is a great follow-up novel. Once again, we're given a curvy black woman as a main character and the storyline isn't dependent on her trauma as a plus sized woman nor a woman of color. We get to see her live in joy and I love it!

Nina Ford is known to have a heavy rotation, keeping a roster of men at the ready. But she meets someone that surprises her and has her ready to settle down.

Full of humor, spice, and wit, Plus Size Player is a romance novel that you won't want to put down.

Highly recommend for those that like a lot of spice with a lighthearted story line.
