I was reallyyy excited for this one since I loveddd Curvy Girl Summer!! I love that Nina knows what she wants and is not going to settle until she finds the man that checks all her boxes!
Even though I enjoyed Nina and Russ, I did not feel very invested in her relationship with him. I wonder if that is because we get introduced to them after they already met and started building a relationship. BUT the spice was spicy okayyyy a it was nice to see them navigate through their careers, mixing business with pleasure.
Overall, I still had a good time listening and enjoyed Nina's relationship with her friends/coworkers and mom! I was able to get the audio, and that was great!
Thank you NetGalley for the audio ARC! 🩷

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 (4.5/5)
Danielle Allen did it again with this one! This book was so cute, and I seriously admire how she continues to represent plus-size Black women (like myself!) in such a confident, sexy, and tasteful way.
I’ll be honest—at first, the story dragged just a tiny bit for me. Keeping up with Nina’s dating rotation wasn’t really my jam, but that’s more of a personal preference than anything. Once the storyline settled in and Nina and Russ started spending real time together, though? I was hooked. Their chemistry was fire, and those spicy scenes? Yeah, Danielle deserves all the chili pepper emojis for those!
This is book two in the series, and since I read Curvy Girls Summer (and loved it), I was super excited to get early access to this one. Shoutout to NetGalley for the ARC!
Now, let’s talk about narration. Wesleigh Siobhan is the GOAT. She brings the characters to life so well that I always have to remind myself that the male voices aren’t actually voiced by a man. Her delivery, tone, and energy are chef’s kiss, every single time.
All in all, this was a super fun listen. Flirty, sexy, and full of heart. I’d absolutely listen again and definitely recommend it if you’re in the mood for a steamy, feel-good romance.

OMG!! Love love love this book!! This audio just made me even more excited for the physical to come out as well. Danielle Allen always represents us curvy women the correct way and this was written so well. Wesliegh is one of my favorite narrators, and she does it so well as usual. Reading a book that’s shows a man lusting, pursuing, and treating a curvy woman is a breath of fresh air and I’m loving it, cause I can picture myself.

The narration by Wesleigh Siobhan was phenomenal. The story was a romance with a few obstacles between the couple but an enjoyable ride. There is spice, laughs and ah ha moments in this book. I recommend it.

About the book 👇🏽
Nina Ford doesn’t like to put all her eggs in one basket. She works multiple jobs, she enjoys multiple hobbies, she dates multiple men.
In her thirty years of life, Nina has never come across a man who has all the things she’s looking for.
She loves fun and excitement—and she has a man for that.
She loves confidence and humor—and she has a man for that.
She loves intelligence and ambition—and she has a man for that.
She loves passion and romance—and she has a man for that.
She’s always been content rotating a few men in and out of her life to get her needs met. But when Russell Long, her designated “Fun Guy”, shows her that he’s good for more than just thrills, it seems too good to be true. Nina finds herself in a predicament.
She's found everything she's ever wanted in a career in one job.
She's found everything she's ever wanted in a partner in one man.
Inevitably, her eggs are bound to get cracked.
Like her back.
💜 My thoughts:
Oh my goodness!! Danielle Allen did it AGAIN!! One of my favorite summer books last year was Curvy Girl Summer and it looks like this year’s is going to be Plus Size Player. Allen delivers on a steamy romance that is all meat and potatoes and didn’t skimp on the servings. Equal parts addictive and delicious, it is impossible to put down. In fact, that’s why this ended up being a hybrid read of a physical book and an audiobook, I just did not want to tend to my responsibilities. The audiobook narrator was phenomenal! Relatable and relevant, this is the book you need to read this summer! I simply can’t recommend this book enough! I can’t wait to get my hands on a finished copy when it hits shelves 6/10/25.
Happy reading! 📖💜

Excellent book that has made an early move to my top 5 of the year. The story and emotions made this a fun story to listen to. I’m excited to hear Jasmine’s story next. Is there a way to find a Russ? Are they in stock somewhere in particular?!

I have mixed feelings on this book. The first half was underwhelming. I think it was because I wasn’t really feeling the connection between Nina and Russell for that first half. She was dating other people and I felt that tempered the connection between the two of them a bit.
The second half was more interesting and enjoyable, and more my vibe when it comes to romances.
The sex scenes in this book are sizzling! A++++ for those steamy scenes!
Wesleigh Siobhan is one of my favorite narrators and she did a great job with this one!

Thank you NetGalley, Macmillan audio and Danielle Allen for an ARC of the audiobook Plus Size Player. This book was so good and I really enjoyed the journey of Nina, her career and dating life. I didn’t expect the storyline to be how it was but I loved it! Wesleigh S did an amazing job bringing this story to life all of her voice changes and emotions were phenomenal, she is truly one of my favorite narrators. I like the fact that Nina was a player but was honest with all of the men on her roster. I was really rooting for Russ!

This is such a fun and sexy read! It was pure BLACK JOY reading Black Love. I won't give away any spoilers. I will say this book is a good time, and you need it in your life! This will definitely become a book club pick for many groups this summer! Don't be left out of the book club chat; get this book! Read and enjoy it! You'll be so glad you did. Bravo, Danielle!

The narration: I absolutely loved the performance by Wesleigh Siobhan! She is becoming one of my favorite narrators. I was cracking up laughing at times because of the delivery of a joke and at other times I felt for the FMC because I could hear/feel her concerns and emotions.
The story: I really enjoyed this book. The humor, the banter between the FMC and MMC, and the body positivity was perfect. At first I was not sure where this story was headed and about halfway through I audibly gasped. The romance and spice between the FMC and MMC was a good connection and I found it delightful. Great book and I am so looking forward to book #3.

I thoroughly enjoyed this casual dating turned friends to lovers turned forbidden lovers. If you all loved “Curvy Girl Summer” you will 100% love this beauty. Danielle Allen is always a must read for me.

Thank you to Bramble and Macmillan audio for allowing me to listen to the ALC in exchange for my
Honest opinion.
This was my first interaction with the author and I’m obsessed. As a plus size girl myself, I love reading about confident plus size women and their partners who LOVE them. Definitely recommend!

Absolutely loved this book. Book#1 was excellent and this book was just as great. Thank you for the ARC. I was so excited to read it. The story was extremely well written. I loved how the main character was a big girl but was definitely confident and carried herself that way. No amount of fat shaming was going to get her down. It was really good to see that in a book.. the other part that was enlightening to me was how she dated, Her philosophy of dating a man and enjoying what he brings to the date, made me rethink a few things. I loved that for her. She had several men that she entertained that gave her fun times, romance or intellectual experiences and it worked. However, when she did find the man that was the total package for her, containing all the elements she needed, she faced obstacles and denied falling in love. This was definitely a great read.

Thank you to NetGalley for this audiobook ARC! This was such a cute read. I loved seeing Nina the self proclaimed “Player” fall in love with Russell. There was minimal drama and no unnecessary drama. I also enjoyed the plus size representation in modeling and the sisterhood between her Aaliyah and Jasmine(looking forward to hear her story😉)

Danielle Allen is 2 for 2 in the curve series!!
This book is fun, funny, relatable, SEXY, and empowering!
Danielle's writing is so relatable and I found myself wanting to listen to this audiobook any time I had free time.
I loved curvy girl summer but I loved plus size player even more.
I loved how Nina loved herself and how loved she was by her friends and family.
And Russ was astronomically down bad and we love to see it.
I can't wait for the third book!

"Plus Size Player" is such a refreshing and fun read! Nina is a confident, complex, and relatable main character, and I loved how the story explored modern relationships in a way that felt both real and empowering. Danielle Allen’s writing is smooth, witty, and full of charm, making it easy to get lost in the story. The chemistry between the characters is great, and I appreciated the way the book celebrates self-love and confidence. This book got me out of a reading slump and I couldn’t put it down! If you're looking for a romance with heart, humor, and a heroine who knows her worth, this one is definitely worth picking up!

I loved this story and how it embodied both women's fiction and romance. Being able to see your growth through self and love simultaneously is such an amazing feeling and I enjoyed going on this journey with Nina as she found those things for herself. Also amazing follow up for the Curves series!
In 'Plus Size Player', we follow Nina as she navigates multiples jobs, hobbies and men. My girl literally has a man to scratch each of her niche itches (LOVE THAT FOR HER!!). While on this road, Nina starts to realize that maybe it's ok to find everything you need in one job.. or one man.
I laughed, I swooned, I melted.
Thank you Net Galley and Macmillan Audio for the ARC Audio!

Nina Ford is all about going with the flow. She sees who she wants to see, does things on her terms, and won't settle for anything less. While most would consider her dating tactics playeristic, she kept a healthy rotation of men around who satisfied all of her needs – that is, until she met that one. It seems Nina finds her perfect match and is about to give in to her happily ever after until she finds out she's dating the boss at her new job. From here, the readers watch a game of tug-of-war between wanting and trying to feign ignorance about the love that is blooming.
I decided to take this book via audio with Wesleigh Siobhan, reprising her role as Nina Ford. The listen took 12 hours and 54 minutes. As much as I love Siobhan's voice acting skills, and she bodied this book, I wish there could've been another narrator for this story. I'm not knocking her. We already got to experience her storytelling for Curvy Girl Summer, and it would've been nice to put a different voice behind a completely different character.
There were many elements I loved about this book. I love the unapologetic story regarding a confident woman in the dating scene. I love how it breaks down an influencer's work, and I love the organic chemistry between the characters.
This was a great time!

I had the absolute pleasure of receiving the opportunity to immerse myself into an advanced listener’s copy of Plus Size Player, and let me tell you—I LOVED LOVED LOVED it! Danielle Allen has crafted a story that’s sexy, empowering, hilarious, and filled with heart.
Nina, a confident and curvy model, isn’t here to play by the rules. She’s got four men in rotation—each one fulfilling a different need (funny, romantic, smart, and sexy)—and she’s very clear that no one man can do it all. Until Russ walks in. A sexy, slightly grumpy business owner who isn’t intimidated by her independence and challenges everything she thought she wanted. Their chemistry? Explosive. The banter? On point. The emotional pull? Real and raw. When Nina's momma squealed, I squealed. When Russ was fuming, I was fuming. When everyone was fawning over Nina's runway walk, I was screaming, "YES MA'AM!!!"
And I can’t talk about this book without shouting out Wesleigh Siobhan, the narrator—she was phenomenal. She nailed the voice of Nina with her confident, powerful, yet soft delivery, and the sexy raspy Russ voice? Absolute perfection. She brought every moment to life in such a vivid way that I couldn’t stop listening.
This book had all the tropes I love: confident curvy heroine, boss x employee, fate, billionaire, “touch her and die,” and the ever-delicious slightly grumpy x sunshine dynamic.
Mark your calendars for June 10, 2025. Plus Size Player is a must-listen, must-read, must-swoon-over kind of story. Preorder it now—you won’t regret it!

I loved listening to this audiobook. It was fun, upbeat, and so spicy. Nina is having fun exploring her options juggling different men. Until one day she gets a big opportunity to push her career forward, and one of her love interest pops up. Nina and Russ connection was immediate and captivating. Their banter and easy conversation was easy to follow and kept me listening to every page . Nina is confident and a force to reckon with , but also loving.
