I loved how the narrator of this book perfectly captured every fun, romantic, and emotional moment!
She is beauty, she is grace, she is a player and has a man for her every mood. 😂 I loved this dynamic the most! Nina is the most confident character I have ever read about! She is funny, fashionable, and so sure of who she is and what she believes. She is such a refreshing character that I didn’t know I needed! I didn’t know one even existed!
This book has it all, it’s filled with body positivity, feminine confidence, banter, romance, and humor! I couldn’t ask for a better rom-com.
Danielle Allen will forever have my support! I look forward to reading her future work.

Thanks to NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for the complimentary ALC. I knew right from the start that I would LOVE this book. It is sexy, flirty and fun. Nina is our main character and she is definitely the epitome of confidence. She knows what she wants and she is going to get it, period. I also love that the overall message of the book goes against the norm. Society love to emphasize that you must be married and have kids by the age of 30. Nina is dating multiple people and that shouldn’t be frowned upon. The banter between the friend group is so amazing and it definitely had me giggling at some points. I need to go back and read the first book in the series as I am hooked.

Five star read I loved everything about this book it’s not often that we have the main FMC being the one that has a lot of men in rotation. I love that Danielle writes about plus size females that are confident in their skin. If you love to read about confident boss women that aren’t afraid to speak their minds then both books in this series are worth the read.

Title: Plus Size Player
Author: Danielle Allen
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5)
Format: Audiobook
Narrator: Wesleigh Siobhan
Review:
Plus Size Player is an empowering, sexy, and heartfelt romance that immediately pulled me in. As someone riding the wave of body-positive, confidence-filled reads, this book gave me everything I hoped for—and more.
Nina is a standout heroine: bold, ambitious, and refreshingly unapologetic. Watching her confidently pursue what (and who) she wants while staying grounded in her personal and professional values was inspiring. The romantic chemistry was off-the-charts—intense, passionate, and beautifully mutual without falling into the trap of struggle love. Nina and Russ’s connection was spicy yet grounded in respect and shared desire.
Beyond the romance, I appreciated how the story tackled real-world challenges plus-size women face in industries like modeling and dating. Danielle Allen wrote those moments with care, nuance, and honesty, making me feel seen as a reader. Nina’s relationships—with her mother, friends, and coworkers—were vibrant and full of joy, adding depth and warmth to the story.
Wesleigh Siobhan’s narration brought everything to life. Her performance, complete with voice distinction and sound effects, made the audiobook feel like an immersive experience.
Danielle Allen continues to excel at writing Black women who are loved out loud, and this book is no exception. Highly recommended for fans of empowering contemporary romance, especially those looking for stories that celebrate plus-size leads, healthy romantic dynamics, and Black joy.

YES YES YES 👏🏾🙌🏾
Hands down a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ read!
This is a strong, sexy follow up to Curvy Girl Summer and exactly what I wanted and then some! Wesleigh Siobhan did her thing on the narration! I will definitely be checking out more of her work as a result.
Nina is our amazing, badass FMC with a roster to satisfy all her needs in a man. She is the epitome of “ por que no los dos” or tres or cuatro! 🤭🤣 However, “The Fun One” has other plans and intends to end her harem until their careers throw them a curveball.
Anything that I felt was missing in Curvy Girl Summer was present here. The dialogue was cohesive, the banter was hot and the main relationship got the attention it deserved. Oh and was Russ EVER attentive, the true definition of swoon worthy! 😍
I STILL would love an epilogue, but I noticed that this story runs parallel with the first book and the setup of Jasmine’s situation allows for the same with the next book, Big Girl Blitz!
Probably not a big deal to most, but I really enjoyed that all the women in the friend group get to experience a summer love at the same time rather than “waiting their turn”. Each one of them gets to be the main character at any given time instead of their friend’s supporting cast. You don’t see that often in interconnected series, so kudos to Danielle Allen!! I’m looking forward to reading the next book in the Curve Series!
Thank you Macmillan Audio for providing this book for review consideration via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

First and for most if you have not read book one of this series Curvy Girl Summer you DEFINITELY NEED TOO. Nina is a plus sized Queen that’s in these streets building her modeling portfolio but she isn’t all business. She makes sure to have some fun. Dating and love well love definitely wasn’t on Nina’s mind she grew up with great models (parents) she just didn’t feel like that was in her cards. She hadn’t met one guy that she clicked with on multiple levels so she had a guy for all her interest. The Fun One, Funny One, Smart One you get the gist. But even though Nina has her eyes set on not settling down there’s one that stolen her heart. I loved it. Sidebar this isn’t a slow burn at all. They are REAL GROWN AND NASTY 😜🌶️🌶️🌶️. There is character development and growth on both lead characters but especially Nina. I was able to listen to the audio and it was absolutely amazing. The narrator did an amazing job.

Nina is a self assured play girl who has a roster of men to meet different needs, she’s career focused and she’s not really interested in settling down, that is until Mr.Fun Guy steals her heart! This book right here! I was hooked from the jump. The chemistry between Nina and Rus was steamy from the beginning baby. Whewww, the tension, the banter, the way they just clicked had me grinning Chile.
When Rus called Nina his escape, I felt that in my chest. That line did something to me. He wasn’t just saying it to be cute either, you could tell he meant it. That statement hit deep because he said it more than once and it showed just how much she meant to him beyond the physical, she was his peace, Nina deserved that kind of softness. I loved how unapologetically Nina loved who she was & knew what she wanted throughout the book.
I loved how supportive the friendship was in this book just as it was In book one, also Nina’s parents were the bomb.com
Baby Chapter 18?? Chilleeeee that makeup sex scene had me clutching my imaginary pearls and ready to send a risky little text myself 😅🔥.
My favorite line hands down,“You’re my escape & I miss you.” That quote lives rent-free in my head.
Overall, this was such a good, sexy and emotional read. The audio was great, Wesleigh Siobhan did her thing bringing Nina to life. The pace of the book was just right. Danielle Allen did her thing giving us a plus size MFC being loved correctly and in boss mode. Highly recommend if you’re into strong confident female characters, black women being loved and adored correctly, and steamy sex scenes. Part 2 of the Curve series did not disappoint, now I’m just waiting on Jazz 's story.
Thanks to NetGally & Macmillan Audio for my ALC of this book.

So, let me preface this with the fact that I LOVED Curvy Girl Summer. It was sweet and hot and had depth. 10/10, I highly recommend.
I also want to note I was given this ARC through NetGalley, and I'm so appreciative.

Plus Size Player was a grower for me. 😉 It was hot af pretty much right out of the gate. Russell and Nina had a little light exhibitionism going on, which was killing me in the best way. 🥵 While the s3x was 🔥, I didn't connect with the characters as easily.
Nina is a confident, badass, plus-size influencer and model. She always says the thing you wish you could say in shitty situations. She was afraid of putting all her eggs in one basket in everything throughout her life, but I wasn't sure why. I guess she was a perfectionist at heart, and she didn't want to risk something not being perfect. For example, she didn't want to risk hurting her heart over a love that wasn't like her parents' love. However, I wish we were shown a little more clearly what her hangups were.
Russell predictably is the CEO of the high-end designer Nina signs with at the beginning of the book. They are torn asunder throughout the story over company policy against colleagues dating, but I just didn't think it was enough to keep them apart. It felt weak, especially as they fell deeper in love. I mean... he's the founder and CEO, so if anyone can change the policy, it's him.

That said, he basically takes a step back for Nina, and her career goals are equally valued in the storyline. HUGE love to that.
I love, love, love how Danielle Allen writes these wonderful female friendships and mother/daughter relationships. So often I read romance for the perfect love, but these books also have absolutely enviable female friendships that feel so cozy and aspirational.
Finally, I cannot express how excited I was at the way this book overlapped with Curvy Girl Summer! It was so clever and helped me remember that book as well. Essentially, Allen wrote the phone calls and texts and hangouts from a different perspective showing that the two books overlapped in time. Clever, clever.

I'm not as absolutely enamored with this one as I was with the first, but I will 100% be reading the next. And I honestly can't even wait!

This was a fun one to read. I found myself laughing out loud in some parts and talking to the characters in others. The felt like I was on an emotional roller-coaster with Nina wanting the best for her throughout the book. Well written. I will definitely read more of her work.

Whew, okay… this one was a wild ride that I, unfortunately, had to tap out of early. And I’m kinda sad about it! I adore Danielle Allen’s writing, her previous book totally had me in a chokehold. But this one? It just didn’t hit the same.
Let’s start with the audiobook. The narrator? Phenomenal. Truly. She brought every scene to life and I mean every scene. The spice was spicing, okay? Like… so steamy I couldn’t even play it in my car without risking public embarrassment. My mom got in, and y’all... a moan hit the speakers and I nearly drove us off the road.
The thing is it was just too much for too long. Ten hours of straight steam with very little room to breathe?
Now, as a plus size woman myself, I was really excited about the representation. We need more of it, always. But the way her size was brought up again and again? It started to feel a little overdone.
So yeah… I ended up DNF’ing. Not because it was bad, because honestly, I think this will definitely be someone else’s cup of tea, it just wasn’t mine this time around.
Still rooting for Danielle Allen though! I’ll be keeping an eye out for whatever she writes next.

I absolutely loved Curvy Girl Summer, the first book in Danielle Allen’s Curve series—so when I found out we were getting a sequel, I was beyond excited. That said, I genuinely didn’t know how she could top the banter, heart, and heat of book one. Spoiler: I shouldn’t have doubted her for a second.
Plus Size Player exceeded every expectation.
Nina is smart, stylish, funny, sexy, successful—and living exactly the life she wants. Russ? Whew. He’s brilliant, thoughtful, fine, and completely smitten. Their chemistry is electric. Like, had-to-hit-pause-on-the-audiobook-to-fan-myself levels of heat. And yet, the story still manages to be grounded, tender, and full of laugh-out-loud, clutch-your-pearls moments.
It’s romantic and sexy, sure—but it also brings the feels. There are scenes that’ll make you laugh, cheer, and even want to shake a character or two. Just an all-around bomb book.
And Wesleigh Siobhan’s narration? Flawless. She’s my all-time favorite for a reason—this performance was next-level.
I already can’t wait to swoon over Nina and Russ all over again.

A steamy, fun and witty contemporary romance novel about modern dating, passion and love: Nina Ford knows is a woman that knows exactly what she wants and while she knows what true love looks like from the example set by her parents, Nina enjoys her roster of men! Between the “fun one” to the “smart one” to the “romantic one” Nina gets the best of all to make up the perfect man. With her professional life makes huge strides, her dreams are coming true but what happens when her personal life collides with her professional life causing a major conflict of interest that might jeopardize her dream career.
A spicy romance about the power of attraction, electric chemistry and the beauty of true love.

This was such a fun read. I enjoyed it from beginning to end. Nina is a spicy take no mess boss lady and I instantly fell in love with her character. This book has everything I want in a romance! Plus a good twist at the end. I highly recommend!!

Whew, I loved this book even more than book 1 in the series. First of all, let's address the narration. Wesleigh Siobhan is one of my favorite narrators and just was the perfect choice for this book.
Even though Nina starts the book with a full roster of men she's juggling, it doesn't take long to figure out the man she's truly falling for. The connection between Nina and the MMC is hot and steamy (whew those sex scenes were steamy!) and watching Nina realize that there is a man who has all of the qualities she's looking for in a partner is a fun ride.
I figured out the twist in the book pretty early on but that's not a complaint, it was just easy to clock it given how Nina and her guy didn't ever discuss a certain topic plus the second I learned his full name, it made even more sense. It was still engaging and I wanted to see how it would play out and how Nina and her guy would react to the big reveal.
I loved Nina's sense of self-confidence and the body positivity in this book (this whole series, really). I love competency porn and I love characters who are good at what they do and don't pretend to be humble about their talents and I loved how Nina encapsulated all of that.
It was just a fun book, steamy and sexy and joyful.
ARC from publisher, review is all mine.

I absolutely loved it! Nina is everything. I love the way she goes for what she wants and needs and is a boss about her business!
Her roster was top tier and honestly it was refreshing to see the fmc having several men at her beck and call but Russell? He was special and their chemistry is out of this world!
My flabber was gasted when I found out about Rus' "title" and I sorta crashed out lol
Plus Size Player is everything you'd expect from a Danielle Allen story....addictive, adventurous, sexy and amazing writing. The audio is FIRE!!

Thank you to NetGalley for allowing me to listen to the audio version of this book. I really enjoyed this read and the author writing style. The FMC was very relatable and I was so happy she ended up with the person she was with in the book. Overall good read and I look forward to reading home books by this author.

Plus Sized Player was the perfect next installment of the Curve series. The title is narrated by the one and only Wesleigh Siobhan! She brings black voices to LIFE! She is by far one of my top 3 narrators and holds the number 1 spot. Nobody does young, fun and sexy quite like Wesleigh!
Now about the book. We get to learn more about Nina who was first introduced in Curvy Girl Summer (Curve #1) as one of Aaliya's best friends. Nina is, by most definition, a player. Although she's up front and honest with her male counterparts we have to call a spade a spade. Nina keeps a roster - the fun one, the funny one, the smart one and the romantic one. Each serve their purpose in her life and she's enjoying every single minute of it - that is until she finds herself wanting to spend more and more time with one in particular - enter Russell aka Russ. Because of the nature of their relationship from the start, there is very little shared with one another outside of their surface level interest and their dates. As this story unfolds we get to see that Nina may have found the one who can make her clear the bench and commit to one man.
Themes that I absolutely LOVED about this book: Nina isn't a bitter, jilted ex who is simply sowing her "wild oats" - she's empowered and won't accept anything less than what her parents have so she's enjoying life in the meantime. Danielle Allen writes great female relationships! No "mean girl"/"slick diss sisters" over here. Just genuine love, support and adoration of one another.
Another great read for the summer!

Hot damn. This is one sexy, kick ass, spicy book. Allen expertly gives us a strong relationship that doesn’t fall into the miscommunication or third act breakup category. And it is so damn sexy. Like really.

Nina is a voluptuous young woman with a purposeful dating roster. A man for laughs, a man for romance, a man for good times! It’s quite the lineup until one man wants to be ALL Nina needs and more. Now it’s time to make a decision. One that can change the course of her personal life and professional life.
I love how Danielle Allen has given not just a woman, but a PLUS size woman the upper hand in this story as we follow Nina on her dating escapades. The drama was minimal but just enough to keep you interested and ready for the next chapter.
Now the spice was SPICY! Definitely my favorite part. It wasn’t just random sex, but more like “meaningful, let me love you, we belong together” sex.
I also adored the connection that this book has to Curvy Girl Summer. Something about the characters overlapping made my heart smile. It was definitely a good read and recommend the entire series.
Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC read.
Audiobook narrated by Wesleigh Siobhan… she never disappoints!

Nina.... Nina.... Nina.... my girl! This book made me laugh, smile, had me in a chokehold! The banter, the friendship, spice... I totally understood Nina. I too, never wanted to put all my eggs in one basket. But then I found my Russ. Russ is my new book boyfriend! He is the man of my book dreams! And Danielle girl, I am a forever fan! I loved this book real bad!
