Knowing Who You Are Because of Who God Is by Demi-Leigh Tebow is a sweet and encouraging devotional focused on understanding your identity and being strengthened in what God says of Him and you. I read her other book, A Crown That Lasts, and really enjoyed learning about her journey in becoming Miss South Africa and Miss Universe, as well as her relationship and marriage. Her thoughts and experiences in understanding herself while all of these titles are coming and going and influencing her is a grounding conversation that I think many can benefit from. If you are new to the faith or struggling in your own worth, this devotional will greatly encourage you. If you have been a Christian for decades or enjoy reading others experiences which you can also learn from, then you will also enjoy this devotional book. It is not necessarily theologically deep for greater study but instead a good starting point to dive deeper into concepts with a concordonance or on your own bible study - truly though, that is what devotionals are for, pick-me-ups and encouragement when you need it, and guidance on concepts and things in scripture and the life of a Christian to further study and look into. The themes and long standing analogies related to plants was really useful to illustrate concepts related to letting go of the old self and putting on the new self in Christ, in so many words. I did feel like I had read a lot of that before, likely because the plant analogies in one's faith journey is an ever-relevant way to illustrate what being a follower of Christ is like. There were many helpful tidbits and reminders that I highlighted in my kindle to go back to one day. No matter how long you have known Christ, it is always good to be reminded, as we are forgetful creatures. Greatly enjoyed it and reading it while waiting at the doctors office was a nice way to pass time too! (I read it straight through like a book).

A nice, encouraging devotional. Demi Tebow draws upon her personal experiences to illustarte how know who God is shows us exactly who we are. Though this book is aimed at women, I think it would be a valuable gift for teenagers and young woman.

Every woman at church should be gifted a copy of this book! Because wow! It changed my world. I could not put this book down. The words on each page gave me chills and the writing was beautiful. A fantastic book!

“Knowing Who You Are Because of Who God Is” is an encouraging weekly devotional. I really liked the format of each entry. The entries are laid out as 5 messages for a week. These can be paced out according to the reader. The garden analogy for applying the Word to our lives was really fun. It was nice to see Demi’s own experience mixed into the devotionals.
