I really enjoyed Tuesday and Ben. There was something about this book, the way their relationship evolved, and the characters that really worked for me. I think I enjoyed how vulnerable they both were with each other and how that vulnerability allowed them to connect with one another in a way they wouldn't otherwise.

I also liked that this title really didn't have a lot of external drama. It focused on them, on their relationship, and on the development of them as a couple. And, I was invested. I wanted to see him open up to Tuesday, I wanted to see him be able to feel that he could. And, I wanted Tuesday to see how great things could be with Ben.

I also loved the ending, the way that he allowed her to be who she was, and to make a decision that was true to her. Without spoilers, I thought it was the perfect way to end their story and convince me they were going to make it.

I enjoyed and recommend this title.

Very cute story! Written sort of like a rom-com, Tuesday finds herself in London in a temp position hoping to convince her company to fast track her for management and not end up on the unemployment line. Her hotel is hosting a conference for fans of one of her fave movie stars and she decides to have some fun and relive parts of those movies that she used to watch with her late mom. In a park, she mistakes Ben for the actual movie star and then continually runs into him. Ben needs help convincing a duke to sell him a hotel and enlists Tuesday's help by posing as his fiance.

I loved the romance between our characters, but eventually the Daniel de Luca references got old. It was really built up as if there would be some big reveal with this movie star, but no. Despite that,Ben and Tuesday's story is sweet as they each figure out what they want to be happy.

Thank you NetGalley and Louise Bay for allowing to read this book for an honest review!

I am a sucker for a fake dating trope, which this was easy to read, lighthearted and just overall fun. It did give off Modern Day Bridgerton Vibes, especially Eloise, she kind of reminded me on of Tuesday. Also to sprinkle in a billionaire and a dash of spice, it was a lot of fun. I haven't read anything from Louise Bay before but reading this has definitely put her on my radar and would love to read more from her.

I really enjoyed this book. It did start a little slow and at first the constant references to Tuesday's celeb crush were distracting. But as the story progressed, I found myself enjoying them as they were insights to her relationship with her mother and they gave her space to finally grieve and process her emotions.

Ben is grumpy and reserved, but I absolutely adored the way he couldn't help himself when it came to Tuesday. I loved how he'd stand up for her and quietly wait for her to express her opinion on things, even when it was clearly a struggle to hold himself back.

This was a fun read with interesting characters, slow burn spice, single first person POV, and lots of swoony moments.

Really enjoyed this one though I would have loved to get Ben's POV. Lightly spicy, more fade to black than I'm used to, not that its a complaint. I think the spice worked how it was. Lots of cute stories, and I loved how Ben tried to make that first date special.

It was cute. I'm always a sucker for a fake relationship and a MMC who goes soft for his girl. I loved Tuesday's journey in the book.

Sexy, swoony, and packed with transatlantic charm ✈️💘. An American in London is a flirty, feel-good romance with sizzling chemistry and heartwarming moments. Louise Bay brings the city to life with rich detail and delivers a love story full of humour, passion, and second chances. I adored the opposites-attract vibe and the playful banter. A perfect escape for romance fans.

Louise does it again with another fun and easy billionaire romance! I’ve said it before but I absolutely love Louise’s writing style - she has a way of drawing you in and making you not even realize how quickly you are devouring the book!

An American in London focuses on exactly what the title says - Tuesday (the American) is in London for work and meets Ben, a grumpy British billionaire. Tuesday is heartbroken, at risk of losing her job, and in need of a fresh start. Ben on the other hand is in need of a finance to impress a duke and convince him to sell property to Ben. Combine the two of them together and you get a fun Pretty Woman meets Bridgerton vacation romance in the English countryside!

I loved Ben and Tuesday! Ben is so scowly and I love his refusal to call Tuesday by her actual name! Their chemistry is steamy and easy banter is fun! I read the ebook while listening to the audiobook and it did not disappoint! Erin Mallon did such an amazing job narrating both parts!

Book Vibes:
✈️ Grumpy billionaire
♥️ Fake engagement
✈️ Vacation romance
♥️ British MMC x American FMC
✈️ Bridgerton vibes

A little heart break and a terribly shy introvert. Need I say more? This is just a wonderful read that warmed my heart from beginning to end.

Hey, I actually loved this!

This was my first Louise Bay book and I have been in quite a slump recently, without any time to read. However, once I picked up An American in London, I couldn't put it down.

This book has ALL THE TROPES OUT THERE, but it doesn't fall into any of the cliches. Ben is one of the most healthy book boyfriends I've ever since and I'm still reeling because... what? NO DRAMATIC, 2-HOUR THIRD-ACT BREAKUP?

This was exquisite. At first, I didn't like Tuesday much, mostly because I related so much to her. I would've liked a bit more deep dive into her getting to know herself and being more confident outside of Ben, but it was on the right track.

I also would've liked some more spice. But the relationship between Tuesday and Ben was so wonderful that I'll let that slide.

Billionaire Ben Kelley was introverted with a dash of surly for good measure. Blessed with doppelganger movie star good looks Ben kept to himself and gave new meaning to the strong silent type. Yet behind his outer facade was a vulnerable man who craved love and guarded his heart.

American Tuesday Reynolds was the eternal optimist. Yes she had experienced bad things in life but this character kept looking forward. Her outgoing charm in the end was irresistible and she stood out as the kind of character that you rooted for.

Ben and Tuesday were such an unlikely couple but upon closer examination they were perfectly matched. Ben's protectiveness toward Tuesday was lovely and Tuesday intuitive understanding and caring for Ben felt genuine and upped this relationship. There was a nice balance of give and take with this pair and their willingness to put the other first was sweet.

An American in London was a slow burn with lots of witty exchanges. The opposites attract vibe built up from a simmer to a flame for some memorable moments and lots of feels interspersed with comparisons to the heroine's movie star crush's movie scenarios. Ben and Tuesday's love story was fun to see build up into a real life romance that did not end with cut!

Louise Bay has a knack for creating just the right pairings of her characters. She sees beyond her portrayals superficial traits and gets to what makes them tick for the kind of romance stories that readers crave. Louise Bay's An American In London hit the spot and then some for a great romance to get caught up in!

I loved this book so much! It's refreshing, funny and romantic. Tuesday is a character I absolutely loved. She is strong, resilient and adorable. I enjoyed her frankness and the way she puts her heart in everything. Ben is the ultimate grumpy but the first to fall for hurricane Tuesday. They are cute and sexy together. My eternal love for the duke and the duchess 
I enjoyed this story a lot and I highly recommend it.

I have long been a fan of Louise Bay, so when I saw there was another of her books available on NetGalley I jumped at the chance to read it. It has been a few years since I read anything by her, but I was instantly reminded why I have always like her books so much. I really enjoy the flow of her writing style and her books have just the right balance of romance, humour, spice and likeable characters.

In An American in London, Tuesday Reynolds’s leaves her life in Manhattan to come to London for a work assignment for a few weeks. Where her life is once again knock off its axis. The chemisty between Tuesday and Ben is powerful from the outset. I was routing for them from the first few pages. The book was so enjoyable that I actually finished it in one sitting. Who doesn't enjoy a happy ever after.

Thank you to NetGalley and Montlake for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest reivew.

Tuesday’s life isn’t unfolding the way she planned as not only is her personal life in shambles but her career is also in jeopardy. Unable to fix her personal life she focuses on her professional life which is how she finds herself in London trying to prove her worth until she comes across a distraction by the name of Ben.

Ben may be a successful businessman but that isn’t helping him close his latest deal. He needs to prove that he is in a stable and committed relationship which means a fake fiancé and Tuesday is perfect for the job. He may have expected the chemistry between them but enjoying the chaos she brings into his life wasn’t part of the plan.

The characters and the situations they find themselves in are so much fun and Ben is charming with a capital C. There is a great cast of secondary characters and the romance between Ben and Tuesday is top notch.

(4.5 stars rounded to 5 when needed) AN AMERICAN IN LONDON is a new stand-alone romantic comedy by Louise Bay about a people pleasing American and a disagreeable Brit, who was also hot. Tuesday Reynolds’ wonderful Manhattan life had blown up. Her fiancé moved to Iowa with a ballerina, and her Wall Street Bank had been bought out. She travelled to London to prove herself to the new CEO. Her plans changed when she ran into broody billionaire, Ben Kelley, whose professional goals would be complete if he could accomplish one thing. But, in order to do it, he needed a fake fiancé to impress a duke and duchess. Tuesday agreed to do the job for a new wardrobe, a weekend in the country, and enough money to secure a new Manhattan apartment upon her return. But the rehearsals for the weekend away started to feel real, the country estate looked like a set from her favorite romcom, and Tuesday’s life was officially hijacked by a romcom script! I really loved this novel, especially the audiobook, which Erin Mallon slayed with her comedic style. Tuesday was whimsical and endearing and everything that grumpy, scowly Ben needed. The more time they spent together the more whimsical he became. The story was well written, funny, steamy, emotional, and everything one could want from a RomCom novel about RomComs. I would recommend this book/audiobook for readers/listeners who enjoy a lighthearted fake engagement romcom with emotional depth and character growth. This ebook and audiobook are available through the kindleunlimited program.

I received a free ALC and ARC via Netgalley, Montlake, and Brilliance Audio. I am voluntarily posting this honest review.

oh behave because this book is gorgeous. and i am not regretting or ashamed to say i inhaled this book. i was angry that my skills as a reader did not let me go faster. because i just wanted to read more and more and know more and more about our pair. and then, towards the end, i was angry i didn't read slower as it would soon be over. deary me, you just cant win with good books ha ha.
this book was just the comforting read i needed. it was soft in all the right places and fun in all the right place. it was just enough soppy by the side of just enough attitudes lol.
Ben and Tuesday were a joy to read about. their story was just my thing. a perfect read. and yes i said, a perfect read. Ben and Tuesday had me doing bashful smiles and goofy smiles. my smiles were smiling people.
the story is a fake dating success. witty banter and complete lovely love is key and constant all the way through.
dont be fooled by me swooning though because this book hit deep too. in all the right ways and in all the right places to give investment and connection to the characters you fall for them and care for them and then just root for there happy ending. and the ending oh oh oh it finished off this book with the ending it deserved.
if someone can make a magic spell so certain books can be read again that would be great. is thee not an app for that yet? because i want to go back and re-read this from fresh so i can feel it all again.

An American in London is the best of all the amazing romance movies that were so popular in the 1990s featuring actors like Hugh Grant. It combines the charm of London, happenstance, and romantic whimsy, with a little movie star fangirling, into an amazing romance. This story is absolutely the sweetest with an American heroine named Tuesday visiting London where she bumps into Ben, a super wealthy and grumpy Londoner who just happens to look like a doppelganger for her favorite movie star when she was a teen. I adored how opposites attract and kismet causes their paths to continuously cross so much so that Tuesday is determined to make a friend out of the handsome, reticent stranger. When his bestie invites her to join them for dinner and suggests she fake date him in order to help him impress a duke who won’t sell his hotels to Ben, things really start to get interesting. While fake dating isn’t really my favorite trope, this story hardly feels like fake dating from the start. From start to finish, it’s adorable and the ending will make you kick your feet in happiness and sweetness.

In audio, this story was a treat and no matter how you choose to read this story, it’s a great choice. Erin Mallon solo narrates the story told from Tuesday’s POV and I adored how she added so much personality and whimsy to the story. She was perfect for Tuesday and you could tell she had fun performing this story. There were so many other things to love about this book too. I absolutely adored Tuesday’s cup half full attitude despite being a New Yorker, but what I loved more was Ben’s determination to get Tuesday to stop making decisions based on what would make other people happy. They were absolutely perfect for one another and I couldn’t wait for them to be together, but at the same time, didn’t want the story to end. I loved this story so much, I almost wish this would become a series. This is one instance where a little rinse and repeat wouldn’t hurt my heart. I adored this light and sweet story so much.

Beautifully written romance where two people accidently connect and become entwined in a fake romance. Light hearted and fun characters. American heroine very British self-made billionaire hero! Of course the hero has a softer side under the slightly intimidating exterior and the heroine’s lively, straight talking manner bit by bit pulls him to her. I would recommend this book as there is something light and clean about it, even with a bit of spice blended in. I loved it.

5 Star Review An American In London by Louise Bay

eBook/Audio:
There was nothing I didn’t love about this book. In fact this is one of my top reads/ listens from Louise Bay.

I fell hard and fast for American Tuesday Reynolds and British billionaire Ben Kelley, who just happens to look like her teenage crush actor Daniel De Luca.

They met by accident, a case of mistaken identity and what follows was an entertaining, feel good story that had me smiling throughout.

With very little angst, I was invested in Tuesday and Ben’s story from the first chapter.

The narration by Erin Mallon was entertaining and they she did a fantastic job. Not only did she bring all the romance, humour, passion and tension of the story to life but she did justice to this emotional story with voices that are easy to listen to.

I received an ARC from the publisher through NetGalley.

Tuesday is trying to figure out her life post breakup with her cheating, loser ex. Ben is desperate to own the Fairfield Hotel. In order to do that, he needs to impress the duke and duchess…and this is where a deal is struck with Tuesday.

On paper Tuesday and Ben wouldn’t be a good match. She’s an extroverted, talkative New Yorker and he is a grumpy, grunt-y Brit. Together they play off each other, because in this case opposites attract. He’s the grumpy to her sunshine.

This is a cute contemporary read for those that love grumpy/sunshine, fake engagements and life imitating art-vacation romance.
