Thank you NetGalley for providing me with this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Sigh... I really don't like giving negative reviews especially about a book written by one of my favorite authors. However, I also want to share my honest opinion so here goes...

Although the idea of this story sounded good, I found it difficult to connect and care about the main characters. By the third chapter I was bored and started skimming and then finally gave up. This was surprising to me as I usually love Jenny Proctor's writing and have read and re-read some of her books multiple times. I can't put my finger on what was lacking in this story but it just didn't grab me.

I'd prefer not to rate this book but since NetGalley requires it, I'm giving two stars because I reserve the one-star rating for books that I totally hate and/or have really disgusting profanity.

For anyone who hasn't ready Jenny Proctor's books, I highly recommend the following:
- The Hawthorne Brothers series
- Absolutely Not in Love (Appies #2)
- Romancing the Grump (Appies #4)
- When Alec Met Evie (Appies #6)
- Love Off-Limits (Some Kind of Love #3)
- Once Upon a Boyband

These are all books that I own and have read and enjoyed multiple times and have on my audiobook wishlist.
