Our book club could not stop talking about the Breaking the Dark Book Club Kit! Lisa Jewell is already a master of suspense—her stories pull you in and don’t let go—but this kit added so much depth, excitement, and structure to our discussion that it honestly turned one of our best reads of the year into one of our best meetings ever.

The discussion questions were incredible. They were detailed without being overwhelming, and they pushed us to think beyond just “what happened.” We talked about character motives, hidden layers, and the way Jewell builds tension so masterfully. Everyone had theories, favorite moments, and opinions to share—and the questions made sure even the quieter members of the group felt comfortable jumping in. At one point, the conversation got so animated we actually had to pause to catch our breath (and refill our glasses!).

What I really loved was how the kit captured the atmosphere of the book. The extras and activities weren’t just filler—they tied directly into the story and gave us ways to really immerse ourselves in Jewell’s dark, twisty world. It felt like we were stepping into the shadows with the characters, unraveling secrets together. It wasn’t just a book club discussion; it was an experience.

Another highlight was how much fun it made the night. Sometimes with darker thrillers, the conversation can get heavy, but this kit struck the perfect balance. It let us explore the serious, thought-provoking parts of the book while still keeping things engaging and enjoyable. By the end of the night, we were all buzzing with excitement, already talking about which Lisa Jewell novel we want to tackle next—and whether there’s a kit for it, because now we can’t imagine reading one without it.

If you’re planning to read Breaking the Dark with your book club, do yourself a favor and get this kit. It’s beautifully put together, easy to use, and elevates the whole experience. It gave us one of our most memorable book club nights ever. Highly, highly recommend!

I loved the variety of activities, discussion questions, info about the author and other books written, as well as, the “what to read next” section that offers books by other great authors as well! I believe there should be more variety in the bookmarks and maybe a mini poster with character art would be a fun idea, but overall love the contents!

This was a great resource that we used in my book club! Our book club had loved Lisa Jewell books so this was really nice to add to the discussions we were having about the book. I would recommend this for any book club that is reading this book!

In all honesty, I didn’t realize this wasn’t her latest book but a kit, therefore I did not finish. I love everything she writes, so will give 5 stars simply because everything I’ve read of hers is deserving and amazing.

I am a big fan of Lisa Jewell, have read pretty much all her books. She’s a phenomenal writer! I’m not the biggest fan of Marvel Universe, more of a fan of DC. With that being said, the story was very interesting and kept me engaged. Loved the twist of events! It was quite suspenseful and the characters absolutely had all the depth needed for a good plot. Really enjoyed this!

I love when Book Club Kits are provided as they are great resources to utilize during book clubs. I love the questions that are provided as I have used them as a starting point for discussions when my club is discussing the book. It helps start off the conversation and provides some really insightful questions. I also love all the other things provided such as the bookmarks.

This was interesting, but I was hoping it would be the full length novel. Since I did not receive the book, i wasn't able to utilize the kit for a book club.

This was a cute little edition for book club, very happy with these little prompts. Happy to have these in the club and will be using them to review the books requested.

Great for book club reviews and reading. I like the interactions the book will make for reviewing the book, Breaking the Dark by Lisa Jewel. So many options starting with the authors note, discussion questions, free bookmark printables and games to play along the way. I LOVE that there are recipe links in the review book and recommendations of next reads including more of the same author. I would definitely purchase something like this for future reads.
