This guide was not only thoughtfully organized and beautifully presented, but it also went far beyond what we usually expect. The discussion questions were deep and thought-provoking, helping us peel back layers of character motivation, plot development, and hidden themes we may have missed on our own. We were especially impressed by the unique extras included—behind-the-scenes author insights, character backstories, and even themed prompts and activities that brought the book to life in an immersive way.

It felt like we had access to insider knowledge that made the entire experience richer and more connected. These kinds of additions are so rare in book club guides, and we truly appreciated the time and care put into it.

A gripping, slow-burn thriller with a standout lead in DC Nicole Lawson. Lisa Jewell masterfully layers suspense with emotion, delivering a story that’s dark, immersive, and hard to put down. The pacing is steady, the atmosphere tense, and the twists land when you least expect them. I loved how real and flawed Nicole felt—she’s a character I want more of. A strong start to what I hope is a continuing series. Perfect for fans of smart, character-driven crime fiction.

This Book Club Kit was beyond helpful! We are planning to do this book for our next book club and this just made the event 100000x easier. I wish this was more common because it makes more people want to read it and discuss it.

This is an excellent idea for book clubs, large or small. The kit includes discussion points, activities, and an extensive author interview with Lisa Jewell.

While I haven’t read “Breaking the Dark,” this kit contains so much information and even has a “content warnings” section for your sensitive readers. I especially like the crossword puzzle, and I can see this as a book club day event with all the activities, or stretched out over a two-day discussion.

There’s a crossword puzzle, space to write additional thoughts or questions to your club, printable bookmarks you can print and give away as swag or favors, and a Bites & Sips page.

An excellent idea for the host is to print some recipes (with drinks) on small cards and attach the bookmarks as a complimentary gift. This kit includes other titles by the author, a “what to read next” section, and other books from Hyperion Avenue.

I love this idea and hope We Are Bookish comes out with more companions.

This is so cute! This kit is perfect for a book club, for sure. My book club peeps loved it. I think the detailing was thought-out with careful detail. Now, we just have to get our hands in this book and read it as our BOTM.

The first 30% of this book, I wasn't sure. I struggled to connect with it and I think I was looking for Lisa Jewell's usual style which seemed to be missing. Once I got over that and kind of tried to see the book for what it was I loved it.
Was it a Lisa Jewell classic, no. Did I still have a great time, yes.

I really loved this Book Club Kit! It was so fun and had a lot of really neat ideas. Although I really enjoyed this packet and loved everything in it, I really wish there were more bookmarks, and stickers.

Since I do book clubs I am always looking for something to help me. I am always looking for discussions questions. This kit gives you more ideals besides just questions. It has an author interview, food suggestions and games you can do. There are more pluses to help.
