Hollow is a spine-chilling, deeply atmospheric novel that confirms Celina Myers as a rising voice in horror. With immersive prose and a hauntingly original premise, Myers creates a world where the supernatural feels just a breath away. The story pulses with dread, building tension in every chapter, yet it’s also emotionally grounded, with characters you care about. Myers blends folklore and psychological horror seamlessly, crafting a tale that lingers in the mind long after the lights go out. Hollow is terrifying, beautiful, and thought-provoking—a gothic thriller that horror fans will devour. Absolutely unmissable.

🩸✨ Hollow by Celina Myers breathes new life into vampire lore with a fast-paced, emotionally charged tale of found family, forgotten gifts, and the ache of becoming someone new.

Mia Adair's story begins in the most haunting way possible: with her death. But in true paranormal fashion, death is only the beginning. Thrust into a hidden world of rival vampire families, ancient betrayals, and supernatural politics, Mia must navigate who to trust, where she belongs, and what her rekindled connection to the dead might mean—not just for herself, but for everyone she loves.

Celina Myers blends humor, heart, and eerie atmosphere in a way that feels uniquely her own. While the pacing can race ahead of itself at times, there’s no denying how addictive this story is. The writing flows easily, and Myers has a gift for making even the most otherworldly scenes feel grounded in real emotion. Margo, in particular, stole the page every time she appeared.

The lore is fresh, the tension simmers, and the found family dynamics hit hard—especially for readers craving a blend of supernatural drama and heartfelt identity exploration. This story is for anyone who grew up loving The Vampire Diaries or House of Night, but wants something modern, queer-inclusive, and emotionally earnest.

Yes, the ending left me with questions. Yes, I screamed at the cliffhanger. But I’ll be first in line for book two.

📚 Hollow is sharp, intriguing, and full of heart.
⭐ 3.5 rounded up!

A huge thank you to Celina Myers and Harlequin Trade Publishing for the eARC!

Mia wakes up after dying and enters a whole new world she never knew existed, in fact, none of us humans knew existed. When she was little, before her new reawakened life, she had a paranormal gift where she could speak to the dead. As she grew, it faded, without her knowing why. Now, in her reawakened vampire life, it seems to be coming back. She must decide which vampire family she wants to belong to—the Bellamy or the Sutton clan. She will sped time with both of them to make her decision. She learns about their complicated and dark history, and finds herself drawn to two people. Her gift continues to manifest stronger and she realizes she will have to use it to save the only family she has left. The book ends on a wild cliffhanger, so I am assuming there will be a next one, but remains to be seen.

This book was a solid ok. It definitely reads like a YA, even thought it’s not intended to be. The writing feels very simple to me. There is a definite plot, but it’s not overly complicated or intricate. If you’re looking for a simple urban vampire story for entertainment, this is it. If you are looking for a complicated, heavy, adds to vampire lore story, this is not it. I would recommend it based on what your mood is. Sometimes just a simple, easy-to-follow entertaining story is what you want! And this was that.

Thank you to NetGalley and Hanover Square Press and The Hive for my early e-ARC! Book releases 1/13/2026. (But is available on Kindle now.)

I hate star ratings but they must be done.

The book started off promising — good intros to characters and a lot of world building. Some element of mystery/thriller.

Where the book lost me was at the lack of time spent on the actual climax itself. It felt rushed and not well thought out. It definitely needed more expanding on. The book also ends on a HUGE cliffhanger but no indication if we’re actually getting one.

Overall it’s not a book I’d recommend :/

Thank you NetGalley and HTP for the free copy in exchange for my honest review.

A Fang-tastic Flash of Fantasy (But Could’ve Used a Bit More Bite)

This book was like speed-running a vampire soap opera—with extra flair and a little ghostly garnish.

On the plus side: it’s fast-paced, full of diverse and memorable characters (shoutout to some standout side faves), and brims with unique takes on vampire lore. The romance subplot? Deliciously tangled. And the writing? Concise to a fault—sometimes sharp and snappy, sometimes so abrupt it felt like flipping through a highlight reel of a much longer story.

It gave off major fanfiction vibes—in the best and occasionally the clunkiest ways. That passionate, immersive energy was there, but so was a sense of hurry. I found myself wishing for more time to breathe, to sit with the characters, to feel the weight of their choices. The Big Bad needed a bit more “why” to match their “what.”

In short: fun, bold, and filled with potential—but I’d happily sink my teeth into a longer, richer version next time.

3.5/5

Hollow centers on 24-year-old Mia Adair, who used to have the gift of seeing dead people. Then one day she wakes up in a coffin and learns she’s now a vampire. From there, Mia is tossed into a paranormal tug-of-war between two vampire families—the Suttons and the Bellamys—each trying to win her over. Add in dueling love interests, political tension, and a rogue vampire killing newborns for their blood, and you’ve got the setup for a high-stakes supernatural drama. The premise is fun, the writing is smooth, and the cast is refreshingly diverse.

Where it stumbles a bit was the pace and depth. Mia’s ghost-seeing gift ends up being sidelined, and some major plot moments felt a bit rushed. I found that the big twist at the end was super chaotic, and if this novel is a standalone, I found it left too many loose ends. However, overall , this was a entertaining wild ride, that left me wanting more.

Thank you to NetGalley and publisher for the ARC!

I received a complimentary copy of this book for review. All opinions are my own.

I’m rating this book a 4 star mainly because of the last 30 pages. If it hadn’t been for those I would be going with a 3. There is a lot of build up and extraneous information with no true mysteriousness behind it. Then, you get this cliff hanger (which I totally had a feeling was coming) but then the story abruptly ends. I wanted there to be more going on but I did like the campiness of it.

Hollow by Celina Myers is everything I want from a vampire novel. Taking the best of both worlds from Twilight and True Blood and putting her own creative flare to it, this novel keeps you interested from beginning to end. I enjoyed the characters (Especially Kris) and how they interacted with Mia the FMC. I found myself on the edge of my seat wanting to know what would happen next or what Mia would decide for herself. I enjoyed the diversity of the characters in the novel which contained LGBTQ+, BIPOC, and neurodivergent experiences and viewpoints. All around Hollow is well worth the read and I’m excited to get my hands on the sprayed edge copy when it comes out!

I really enjoyed this book, so much. It was a fun and fast paced read that’s reminiscent of our old favorites but in a new and unique way! Celina brought together paranormal and mystery beautifully within these 200 pages. I almost wish it was a whole series because what do you mean it ended like that?
It’s LGBTQ+ friendly, and I absolutely loved those characters and wish they had more screen time. I will say that the plot did seem a little lack luster but it’s short.. so that’s to be had with a quick read. We can’t have 600+ page world building books all the time.
Overall, I suggest reading it if you want a quick vampire read! Would be a perfect vacation book, or beach read for the day. ♥️

This book was okay. The plot was not the best and there were some plot holes. The characters were okay. I couldnt really visualize a whole lot and just felt a bit disconnected

Love this so much. The wording and the shock just in the beginning of the book is chefs kiss. I can't wait to read others Celina has out there!

This book was bad. Poorly written, feels inauthentic, trite. Is it meant to read like Twilight fan fiction?

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC of Hollow.

I love the author Celina Myers so I decided to give this book a chance. I didn't mind the book and did enjoy aspects of it but at times I felt it was a little rushed. Some characters could have been developed slightly more as some of the characters just fell flat for me. As was said by many other reviewers, the concept had a lot of potential but fell flat for me.

I am curious to see what comes next from her especially with the way this book ended. It was an okay read for me but not something I would rush to give a re-read.

Hollow by Celina Myers
⭐️ 2.75 stars

Tropes & Themes:

🔹 Found family
🔹 Paranormal past coming back
🔹 Dead girl walking (literally) 🚗💀🩸

Thank you to NetGalley for the free copy in exchange for an honest review!

So I went into this really excited because 1) I love Celina’s TikToks (she’s hilarious and spooky in the best way), and 2) I will never say no to a vampire book 🖤 And while Hollow was definitely fun and had some cool ideas, it didn’t completely land for me.

The premise is honestly super cool: Mia dies in a car crash and wakes up as a vampire, only to get caught between two rival vampire families with ancient drama and forbidden romance vibes. I also loved the paranormal touches. Mia being able to talk to the dead again gave it that eerie twist that made it feel unique 👻

BUT… some of the worldbuilding felt kinda rushed and confusing at times and the pacing was a little uneven. I didn’t always feel super connected to the characters (even Mia, tbh) and the love triangle felt more rushed than swoony. Still, there were moments that pulled me in especially when her powers started coming back and things got creepier.

Final Thoughts:
If you’re into vampire drama, supernatural gifts and a heroine trying to figure out her place between two undead legacies, Hollow is a quick, moody read with potential. It wasn’t a fave, but I’d def check out book two to see where Mia’s story goes 🩸🦇

The cover gave off total 2000s vampire nostalgia such asTwilight and Vampire Diaries, and the pop culture references throughout were fun and familiar. 🧛‍♀️

Unfortunately, the story didn’t quite work for me. The intro was super long and dragged out, as there was tons of backstory that could’ve been its own novella. The plot itself felt a bit chaotic and hard to follow. She has to choose where to live forever after just one day with two vampire families? 🫠

Add in a rushed love triangle and some very sudden responsibility thrust on her (like… she just got here!) and it all felt a little too far-fetched to fully buy into.

That said, I did enjoy some of the pop culture moments and a few of the side characters. But overall, it wasn’t quite enough to raise my rating.

I swore I wouldn’t read the sequel… and then the last few sentences totally hooked me. So, yeah. See you for book two. 😅

Solid 3 ⭐

Synopsis:
Shy, introverted 24-year-old Mia Adair grew up seeing dead people. She was somewhat famous around town thanks to her parapsychologist mother, who wrote a book about her “gift.” But, adolescents kicked in, and her gift drifted away, leaving her feeling like a nobody. No friends, no social life, no real plans for life. But that’s ok because Life wasn’t an issue for her any longer because she just died. Well, sort of. She’s awake now, and she’s lying in a coffin surrounded by strangers who just told her that she’s a vampire. Congrats! Of course, she’s totally freaked by the news and a little sus. She’s convinced they’ve kidnapped her and are trying to indoctrinate her into their cult. That is until she gets her first taste of blood. Now she’s convinced they’re telling the truth. So, what now? Well, she’s told the Origin Story (which we get a good backstory of the Origin in the Prologue) and has been informed that she will spend 24 hours with each main family, the Suttons and the Bellamys, and then she must choose one to live with permanently. Each Family has its own set of Pros and Cons, including separate love interests. Not only does she have all this “newness” to deal with, but it turns out that one of the vamps has gone rogue and has been creating new vamps and then killing them for their special baby vamp blood. While members of each Family are trying to woo her to their side, they are simultaneously trying to plant bad seeds about the opposite Family, making it nearly impossible for Mia to know whom she can trust.

-So there’s the gist of the book. Of course, there are lots of good meaty parts in the middle, but I don’t want to spoil the fun. 😁

🤷‍♀️ This wasn’t the most well-thought-out storyline or the best-written novel, but it was a fun read. I certainly didn’t feel like it was a waste of time.

It felt kind of Twilighty, but I didn’t mind that.
The (really long) prologue was a nice setup for the story later in the book.
I liked that we got a glimpse of how the others came to be in the Families. We got a nice, diverse cast of side characters.
There was a relatable FMC, male and female love interests, action, violence, and mystery.
All elements for a great story. However, for me, it was just a good story. I felt like it had too much filler text and not enough plot. The “big reveal” scene was a little lackluster and felt rushed. I wouldn’t have minded a slightly longer novel for more substance.

But…… But….. What was that ending?! 😮🤯
I hope this story continues because I need to know more about that ending.

At the end of the day (or the book 😊), I would absolutely recommend this to my vamp girlies who want something a little different. A lighter, more entertaining vampire novel.

Big Thanks to NetGalley, Harlequin Trade Publishing, and HarperCollins for the eARC

This was a good read it just took me awhile to get through. There was so much information thrown my way and I felt at time it was over descriptive . I felt like there was so much filler in the descriptions of everything it kinda took a loss in the story. The characters are good. I can’t even imagine all the stuff the FMC had to go through growing up with her mother. And the loss. Then being thrown into another world and have it all come crashing back down. The side characters were great and the plot buildup was nicely done so bravo on that. I love when you learn a lot. Over all it’s an okay read and I loved how it wrapped around the bookstore especially in the beginning it was such a nice touch and well written. Overall I would recommend this book! If you love knowing so much about everything this is definitely a read for you! -Kerin

Author Celina Myers has reinvigorated my love for the vampire romance. I so missed the world building and erotically charged characters who grace the pages of a vampire tale. I quite enjoyed this read.

Like many others I first heard about this book from Celinas social media pages. I am all for supporting authors and getting more books out into the world. But please, for the love of all thing holy USE AN EDITOR! Use alpha and beta readers, but at least use an editor. If you are able to look past the numerous errors (I know many aren't able to) then the story itself is nice. It is a bit of an homage to Twilight and Vampire Diaries which I liked, I loved those books as a teen. I was lucky enough to get a digital copy of this book from Netgalley and im glad that I did, because if I had bought a physical copy and saw errors like this has I would've immediately wanted a refund. I think this story (and Celina) would be a lot more successful if this gets edited and relaunched into the book world.
