4 stars Blood Moon is atmospheric and addictive—a dreamy blend of supernatural lore, slow-burn romance, and small-town secrets. Britney S. Lewis nails the moody vibes, and the emotional depth gives the story real heart. A few pacing hiccups, but overall it’s a compelling, beautifully written escape. I’ll definitely be thinking about that ending.

I absolutely loved this book! I read this book in one sitting couldn’t out it down, it was a fun experience reminded me of vampire diaries and twilight but with their own spin on it I’m excited to see where this author goes next

The positives:
Parts of the ending surprised me! I love when a book makes my jaw drop and that happened here.
I liked Mira’s independence. A lot of fantasy books make the main character seem weak or needy. While Mira was struggling with things, she was still strong and determined.
The friendships Mira created at school were really nice. I love a supportive friend group.
The characters felt realistic (most of the time) and relatable.
The negatives:
This story is way too similar to Twilight to ignore. The scene where Julian saves Mira from the cliff reminded me so much of when Edward saves Bella from the car in the parking lot. When Mira is figuring out what Julian is, he makes her say it just like Edward made Bella say it. Mira’s father is a cop, just like Bella’s father. The list goes on.
I had whiplash from the back and forth with Julian over his feelings about Mira. It felt clunky and confusing. Also, the love triangle didn’t feel like a love triangle. Especially with the reveal near the end, it seems like there is a clear choice. Maybe there’s more to come on that in the next book.
I think the author tells you too much instead of letting the story reveal things to you. The writing didn’t flow smoothly to me either.
Overall, the quality of the writing and the similarities to Twilight made it hard for me to really enjoy the story. I don’t think I’ll read the next book.

This fantasy romance novel was fun and thought provoking! It is also in the young adult genre, which is filled with all the Twilight vibes! It is dark, mysterious, adventurous and tense. It had lovable characters, vivid descriptions and was definitely memorable. It comes with vampires and werewolves!
Overall, I give this 4 out of 5 stars!
Thank you to NetGalley

Blood Moon by Britney S. Lewis is giving small-town secrets, werewolf legends, and major myths are real energy!
Mira just wants a normal start to college, until a creepy letter from her long-lost mom shows up, weird animal tracks start appearing, and the hot but grumpy guy in her class might be not entirely human.
Turns out those local stories about werewolves and vampires? Absolutely true! And Mira’s right in the middle of it all with a legacy that changes everything!
It’s twisty, emotional, and full of slow-burn tension and supernatural drama.
⚡️Thank you Toppling Stacks Tours and Britney S. Lewis for sharing this book with me!

An exciting blend with coming of age and supernatural legends. This one reminded me a lot of Twilight! If you love the books or movie then you’ll love this one.
I enjoyed the twists with the vampires and werewolves and the legends. I wanted to dive more into things.
Mirabella, the main character, reminded me a lot of Bella from Twilight. She had the same kind of curiosity and innocence to her in regard for the supernatural world. I did love the twist in the end with her character.
Julian was a mystery. There was a lot of secrets he was hiding and it was enjoyable to uncover them all.
I enjoyed the banter between the characters and the push and pull.
If you love Twilight, love triangles, werewolves, vampires, academia settings, forced proximity, family secrets, fated mates, and more then check this one out.

This was such a fun read! From the very first page, I was hooked by the fast pace, the layered mystery, and especially the incredibly diverse and vibrant cast of characters. I love when a book leans into both magic and mystery, and this one had just the right balance.
Mira is such a compelling main character. I loved following her as she untangled the many threads of her story: the haunting disappearance of her mother, the creepy animal attacks in her town, and of course, the broody, golden-eyed enigma that is Julian Santos. The tension between Mira and Julian was written so well, and their dynamic added a lot of emotional weight to the plot.
One of my favorite parts was the mythology and lore woven throughout. The world felt rich and lived-in, with those nostalgic supernatural YA vibes I always crave, like a warm throwback to the genre's golden era, but with its own fresh voice. The magic system was unique and intriguing, and I really appreciated how it unfolded alongside the mystery, piece by piece.
That said, I did feel like the pacing dragged in places, and there was more telling than showing at times, which pulled me out of the story here and there. But overall, those were small bumps in an otherwise gripping and immersive experience.
If you're into paranormal mysteries, reluctant heroes, hidden family secrets, and love triangles with actual tension, Blood Moon is definitely one to add to your TBR. I’m really excited to see where this series goes next!
My copy of this book was provided by NetGalley and Page Street YA for review purposes. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Blood Moon by Britney Lewis is the paranormal romance, I’ve been waiting for and it completely pulled me in form the jump. With the faintest hint of my personal faves Twilight and Vampire Diaries — but with a fresh, thoughtful voice and richly diverse characters that set it apart.
Synopsis: Eighteen-year-old Mirabella “Mira” Owens grew up in Timber Plains, Kansas, hearing legends of werewolves who protected her town from vampires. After her mother disappeared when she was thirteen, Mira stopped believing in those tales. Now, as a freshman at Lakeland University, she seeks a fresh start. However, strange animal attacks on campus and the enigmatic Julian Santos draw her back into a world she thought was mythical.
This is a story full of atmosphere and slow-burning tension, grounded in tropes I love: forced proximity, a perfectly executed grumpy + grumpy romance, and yes — fated mates. The chemistry? Tense. The stakes? High. The world building? Intriguing and layered, with just the right balance of mystery and emotion.
The representation in this book felt intentional and meaningful, bringing depth not only to the main characters but also to the paranormal elements — which are handled with care and creativity. I especially appreciated the how identity and otherness are explored through a supernatural lens. And let’s not forget the awesome friendship group!! Oh my heart was so happy!!
It’s moody, emotionally charged, and just eerie enough to be a perfect read for autumn. UK readers — this one lands October 2025, just in time for spooky season, and trust me: it belongs on your ‘ber month TBR!
Thank you to @NetGalley and @PageStreetYA for the eARC — I already can't wait for the next instalment.

Definitely for fans of Twilight, and I would also add in fans of the Vampire Academy series as well. This is a slow-moving for most of the book, with a lot of the text being the main character, Mirabella, understanding that something is off with every person around her but not knowing what. She is in the center of... sort of a love triangle, I suppose, and those two characters also refuse to tell her what is going on. At around 75-80% of the novel, the action picks up, and then in a chapter or two, all of the information that was withheld from Mira and from the reader is sort of pushed out quickly, answering most questions and raising a few more.
I think I was not the target audience for this. I was hoping for "Twilight but modernized," maybe a little camp, definitely self-aware. I don't really feel like this had the fun, campy vibes I was looking for based on the description and comps. In general, it felt like the story prioritized big reveals over more thorough explanations or leaving hints for what was going on. It ends with another big twist cliffhanger, but I'm not sure that I feel invested enough in the characters to want to read the book to find out what happens next.

IF YOU LOVED VAMPIRE DIARIES....youll love this book!!! Okay so imagine if Twilight had better vibes, actual diversity, and a main character who isn't just biting her lip every five seconds, that’s Blood Moon. Mira rolls up to college thinking she's just here to study and vibe through her grief era, and instead ends up in the middle of a supernatural Hunger Games where everyone’s either hiding a secret, turning into a wolf, or brooding in a hallway like their life depends on it. She’s got trauma, a missing mom, ancestral visions, and now apparently she might be supernatural royalty? Girl give her a break. The romance is giving slow-burn triangle energy, on one side we have Julian, the walking red flag but make it hot and mysterious, and on the other we have Seven, the childhood friend who literally radiates safety and golden retriever energy. I was internally screaming “kiss him” at least four times but Mira’s too busy unraveling centuries of werewolf drama to care about my emotional needs. The vibes? Immaculate. The pacing? A little slow in the first half, but once it picks up it does NOT stop. The atmosphere is full send fall semester dark academia with a blood moon twist and honestly if this becomes a series (which it better), I will be seated and feral. My only complaint is that some scenes feel like they were directly copied from Stephenie Meyer’s notes app but the rest is so gorgeously written and emotionally layered that I don’t even care. 10/10 for spooky girlies who wanted Bonnie Bennett to get her own show instead of trauma support duty in Mystic Falls.

"Blood Moon" by Britney Lewis is an engaging young adult novel that combines elements of supernatural drama and coming-of-age themes. The story features a strong protagonist navigating the complexities of friendship, identity, and the challenges of growing up in a world filled with mystique and danger.
Lewis’s writing is vivid and immersive, effectively drawing readers into the emotional and physical landscapes of the characters. The exploration of themes like loyalty and self-discovery is well-executed, making it relatable for teens and young adults.
Overall, "Blood Moon" is a compelling read that resonates with those who enjoy a mix of adventure and heart. Perfect for fans of fantasy and young adult fiction!

Thank you to NetGalley, Page Street Publishing, and Page Street YA for this advanced copy. You can pick up Blood Moon on September 9, 2025.
This was a wonderfully unique twist on the paranormal werewolf/vampire books we grew up reading in the early 2000s/2010s! The vibes were incredible all the way through, though I do wish the pacing had been a bit better. There were twists and turns to keep things interesting, but the lulls in the middle really dipped for me. I also found the writing catering a bit more toward a younger YA voice, even though this story is set in a college. But overall, this was a fun read and I'm excited to see where it goes!

Few books have the power to transport you back in time to who you were as a young adult/teenager - but this one did. It rekindled my old love for supernatural stories with werewolves and vampires; something I mistakenly thought I had outgrown. The story was easy to immerse yourself in and made me feel like I was a young girl at college, discovering a magical world and falling in love again.
I found the fmc, Mira, to be an extremely relatable and lovable character. The relationship between her and the mmc (no spoilers hehe) was a treat for me. I love when we get to see characters connect on a deeper level rather than just based on physical attraction. We got to see real, raw moments between them that were beautifully written.
Even though the book draws inspiration from other supernatural stories, I still feel that overall the integrity of the book was unique. I really enjoyed the storyline - all of the little twists and turns kept me entertained.
I always enjoy ending books on a cliffhanger, although waiting for the next installment is always pure agony. I truly cannot wait to see where Mira's story goes from here! Overall, one of my favorite reads of the year - purely addicting read!

This felt like all of my childhood favorites wrapped into one story with a black protagonist. I love that the author was influenced by early 2000's vampire shows and specifically Bonnie's character. Solid 3.5 read for me!
I enjoyed Mira as a FMC and found her frustrations to be legit. How else is she supposed to react when her life is flipped upside down?? I was so angry with her mom, Rena, for 95% of the story. Time and time again, parents withhold valuable information and show up when shit hits the fan. That ending??? Could've been avoided if Rena had some sense.
I really enjoyed Julian's character and had a feeling he wouldn't sell her out (and of course that they were "fated mates"). I do think he needs to grovel in the next book for a bit. He could've prepped her a bit better before shit hit the fan, way in advance. It was so painstakingly obvious that she didn't know anything and almost died while still only having 40% of the story. Ultimately though, it was up to her parents to prep her with the base knowledge. Even Bobby was at fault in my head for both of their lack of knowledge.
I really enjoyed the story but felt that things became rushed during the last 80% which made some details murky. I wish they could've been fleshed out and the overall story pace taken into account. Regardless, I'm locked in for the new edition and am stoked to see how it all turns out. I've had this on pre-order for the longest and am happy to have received an ARC. Thanks so much to the publisher!

As a big twilight fan and vampire diaries fan…really just lover of vampires…I was so excited for this book.
At first I was impressed. I realized there was similarities to twilight but it’s been years since I even read those books so it took me a moment to realize how much similarity there was. Too much.
I agree with others that the last 20 %offered some originality but not enough to overshadow the rest of the book.
Thank you NetGalley and the punisher for this earc for in exchange for my honest view.

For fans of the vampire diaries! This book kept me up until 3 am!!
🩸Werewolves
🩸Vampires
🩸Family secrets
🩸Unsuspecting students
🩸A love triangle that didn’t make me want to pull my hair out
4/5 stars because the book gave me major nostalgia with unique plot points and twists but parts of the first half felt pretty slow in pacing
I loved the direction that the book went in the second half and I can’t wait to learn more about Mira and the vampire/ wolf lore of this world further in the series!
Thank you to Page Street YA and Net Galley for an advanced copy of Blood Moon (out September 9th)

🐺 ARC Review: Blood Moon by Britney S. Lewis 🐺
🌟🌟🌟.💫
Thank you to Page Street Publishing for the ARC of Blood Moon by Britney S. Lewis! I really appreciate the opportunity to read her debut!
Blood Moon is a fun take on Twilight and The Vampire Diaries, but with Bonnie Bennett finally getting everything she deserves! I really loved the premise. However, it does read a bit more like fanfic than a traditionally published novel. At times, it felt a little *too* close to those iconic stories, and it didn’t always stand confidently on its own. If I hadn’t known the author’s inspiration going into it, maybe I wouldn’t have drawn so many direct comparisons but I did, and it was hard to ignore.
That said, Blood Moon is still a solid debut with twists and turns that any fantasy reader would want and some genuinely surprised me, which was a fun bonus while reading!
Mira, our FMC, lost her mother when she was about 13 and now lives with her dad. The story kicks off when she’s mysteriously accepted into a university close to home. She decides to attend, since it’s a full ride and allows her to stay near her father, who’s still struggling with her mother’s disappearance.
Mira finds herself caught in a love triangle between the brooding MMC Julian and her childhood friend Seven. The push and pull was enjoyable, even though it becomes clear early on who she’s destined to be with and I’m definitely rooting for them!
Lakeland University is rich in lore, which slowly unfolds throughout the story and plays a key role in the climax.
Read if you love:
🌑 love triangles
🐺 werewolves and vampire lore
🩸 plot twists & turns
🐺 academia settings
🌑 forced proximity
Thank you again for the ARC! I’m excited to see where the next book takes Mira and Julian.

Whew this one made me so sad 😭
I was really looking forward to this because I am a Twilight and Vampire Diaries girly… but this felt like it was a copy and paste of Twilight esp.
I LOOOOVE that the author wrote such a diverse cast because twilight is obviously very whitewashed, so I am thrilled that there is now a book with all of the moments of twilight, but with more diversity.. it’s just that this did not feel original. The last bit of the book had some more original moments, but I think this went beyond inspiration.
I will say that I loved Mira and Julian’s banter. They were so fun, but it just got bogged down by my previous statements.
Thank you NetGalley and Page Street Publishing for the ARC.

I really liked this book. The writing was strong and engaging, and the concept pulled me in right away. There were a few moments in the first half of the book that felt slightly repetitive, but once the story settled in, I was fully invested. It had a clear new adult vibe—not overly steamy, but the chemistry between Mira and Julian (and Mira and Seven) was really well done.
It gave me a modern Twilight feel in the best possible way. You can definitely tell the author took inspiration from that story, but she made it her own. It didn’t feel cheesy or overdone, just atmospheric and moody in a way that worked. I’m excited to see where the story goes next and get more time with these characters in the next book.

Twilight fans rejoice you'll love this one. I felt a bit frustrated with how long she asks questions for that go unanswered, and the love triangle was nothing new, but this author does have a strong writing style and I really liked the direction this took at the end. I am so intrigued by the story behind her parents.
