This fantasy romance novel was fun and thought provoking! It is also in the young adult genre, which is filled with all the Twilight vibes! It is dark, mysterious, adventurous and tense. It had lovable characters, vivid descriptions and was definitely memorable. It comes with vampires and werewolves!

This book made me feel nostalgic, since Twilight is one of my favorite series! I really liked the female main character, Mira. I feel like the other characters in the story stood out as well. This gave me a thrilling ride with a great cliffhanger! I am excited to read the next book in this series! Be sure to read the content warnings! Overall, I give this 4 out of 5 stars!

Legendborn x Vampire Diaries x Twilight = My New Obsession

The moment I heard this book was Legendborn, Vampire Diaries, and Twilight rolled into one, I knew I needed it—and wow, it did not disappoint.

The author struck the perfect balance between nostalgic vibes and a fresh, exciting story. I’m not usually a huge YA fan, but I devoured this book. It had all my favorite paranormal elements—vampires, werewolves, and a plot that kept me constantly on my toes. There wasn’t a single dull moment, and I tore through it in one sitting.

This book reignited everything I love about paranormal fantasy, and now I’m impatiently waiting for book two. Until then, I’ll just be here... staring at my walls and spiraling.

I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I’m not totally sure on this one, I enjoyed it but it was a bit repetitive and drawn out too long in my opinion. I’m not sure if this will be a duology or a series but I think more could’ve happened in this book, most of it was just the FMC asking the MMC to tell her the truth and him skirting around it. The ending was interesting though and I’d maybe read the next one

Oh my gawd i turned into a puddle of goo when she was falling off the cliff and he caught her in his arms...supernatural swooning moment.

Julian was such an grump at the beginning but than he turned into a cinnamon roll. Definitely grumpy sunshine vibes.

There was so much secrecy, and things to uncover.
I love how she slowly puts the pieces together and discovers what he is, what she is. Everything comes together as the past shaped the present and the future is uncertain. With that ending i can't wait to find out where this new version of herself leads her.

Okay, Britney S. Lewis's "Blood Moon"? Total guilty pleasure, but the best kind. It's all this "Twilight" stuff, but with a splash of that soapy CW fairy dust, and goodness, the mystery and suspense kept me reading like crazy.

Seriously, I was hooked like a moth to a weird, werewolf-scented flame. This book is such a tasty paranormal romance side-dish of small-town secrets, and it's completely giving "New Moon" vibes. Our heroine, Mira Owens, is just trying to get her life together in Timber Plains, Kansas, where the werewolf and vampire myths? Well, let's just say they're not urban legends – they're the real deal. And then when this mysterious golden-eyed dude, Julian, comes in and saves her from falling off a cliff, the whole story just pops faster than microwave popcorn.

And can we even talk about Mira's inner dialogue? The snark? Chef's kiss. It killed me.

Okay, the pacing wasn't so consistent, like a fresh fawn figuring out how to walk, and I really yearned for more of the supernatural war action. But the romance? Oh. My. God. It's that forbidden, fated-mates slow burn that gets you under your skin.

But the cherry on top? Britney S. Lewis provided us with a Black heroine who is fierce and flawed, and I am SO here for this. It's like she took Bonnie Bennett from "The Vampire Diaries" – who, let's be honest, deserved SO much better – and was like, "Hold my drink, I got this." Mira's not a sidekick; she's the star, and about time, too.

Honestly, I'm giving this a solid 5 stars because she's basically putting together "Legendborn" and "New Moon," which is my own personal kryptonite. And on top of that, she usually writes standalones, so the fact that this has the potential to be a series? Major win.

The author actually referenced it as like "The Vampire Diaries," and really, it is. It was like I watched the pilot season of the show – same kind of story, but with its own fabulous spin. It was nostalgic without being stale, and I suppose that's a difficult balance to strike. I loved Mira, and the whole love triangle affair (though was it ever really a triangle?). And the writing just hooked me. If you're in the mood for those upper YA paranormal feels with a college setting, you'll need to read this when it releases. It's so much fun.

thank you Net Galley & Page Street YA Books for the eArc! i’m so happy to have finished this before the month ended! okay, gonna keep this review short and sweet: 3.5 stars but rounded to 4 for the sake of reviewing. this book has a lot of potential—the world of supernaturals, mira’s relationship with her newfound friends, the college backdrop, and the love triangle…all shining stars for a great beginning to a trilogy. problem is, there’s MAJOR pacing issues. it took exactly 46% into the book for things to take off and for the premise to center itself to gain my attention, very boring start ngl. but once it did, i was here for the ride! though, i don’t think a “love triangle” is pivotal here nor is the “enemies to lovers” trope particularly present but the romance definitely delivered—very much was kicking my feet and giggling. also not sure the writing style is for me but there were a number of great lines and descriptions sprinkled here and there to reel me back in, sorta felt like a debut ngl. all in all, i can definitely see the inspiration from The Vampire Diaries and Twilight. cannot wait to get a physical copy (since i think the hard copy pages would differ from the eArc pages), and i will definitely be returning for the sequel!! 🫶🏾

**oh & i loved how i was reading this while listening to the Sinners soundtrack & score, truly made things more better halfway through 🙂‍↕️

Yes. All of it. Read it. That’s the review.

This story feels nostalgic and new all at once. The diverse cast is everything. Think Twilight, but better. Vampire Diaries, but Bonnie Bennett is the hero. We've got mystery, yearning, vampires, wolves, hybrids, witches, and a university set in 'hoa hoa hoa' Midwest town—literally everything you want. The story grabs you right away (I was literally highlighting in the prologue) and is beautifully written. I love Britney 's writing and can’t wait to share this with my pre-teen when he’s a bit older. This deserves the kind of fandom that blows up. I’ll be rooting for it every step of the way.

Blood Moon by Britney S. Lewis is a thrilling, atmospheric blend of dark fantasy, mystery, and slow-burn romance that kept me hooked from start to finish. Mira’s journey — from skepticism to uncovering a chilling hidden world tied to her past — is both emotional and action-packed, with rich mythology woven seamlessly into the story. Lewis’s writing captures the tension, longing, and danger of a world where old legends prove to be all too real. Julian and Mira’s chemistry crackles on the page, and the small-town college setting adds a fresh, eerie layer to the unfolding mystery. With unexpected twists and heartfelt moments, Blood Moon is a gripping 4-star read perfect for fans of supernatural suspense with a strong emotional core.

Holy nostalgia!!! Blood Moon is giving twilight meets vampire academy in the best way! I requested this book solely because of the cover and the fact that it releases in my birthday, but even going in blind, this book had its hooks in me! This book gave me the same feeling as reading YA books back in 2012, which is the highest compliment!!!!

New Moon meets The Vampire Diaries in Blood Moon, an incredible young adult paranormal fantasy with a strong-willed, witty protagonist, a slow burn romance (there’s a love triangle!), intriguing family dynamics, and a plot filled with mystery, werewolves, and vampires set in a small-town atmosphere similar to Mystic Falls and Teen Wolf’s Beacon Hills.

If you’re like me and think Bonnie Bennett should’ve been THE main character, you’re going to eat this book up. Mira, our protagonist, is absolutely a powerhouse. She’s funny, smart, and doesn’t take no for an answer. She loves fiercely and hard, but make no mistake: she will burn you if you cross her. LOVE HER.

Again, this reminded me so much of New Moon but 100% better. The world-building is lush and intriguing, the characters are multi-dimensional, and the romance is SO fun. Like In NM, this book has an undercurrent of sadness and loss, but I loved that this only made the story more complex, poignant, and richer. There is a bit of a love triangle, and I’m curious to see what people think as they read. I know I have a favorite!!

The ending immediately has me wanting to grab the second book, and I’m so sad I’m going to have to wait. In the meantime, I’ve ordered a copy of Blood Moon to do a re-read when the 2nd book is close to release, that way I can jump right in! Can’t wait to be back with these characters!

This was a great one! Immersed into a world where myths and legends rule, our FMC must survive and learn all she can. But when one of the other students wants her to leave campus, secrets begin to unravel.

It’s giving Twilight vibes but make it black! I absolutely enjoyed this book! I love that more diverse and representative vampire/werewolf stories are being told!
Blood Moon is a paranormal, small town , forbidden fated mates, love triangle, slow burn and I ate up every minute! This brought back all the nostalgic feelings of going to college for the first time and meeting new people who are all going through the same experience, football games, homecoming etc. I loved it! I was locked in trying to figure out all the secrets! Where is Mira’s mom? Who is Julian? What’s up with Seven? What’s her dad up to?

Mira’s mother vanished into thin air approx 5 years prior and she has been raised by her dad. She is heading off to college and for the first time she’ll be on her “own”. As she gets to Timberlake University and a mysterious letter arrives, she realizes things are not what they seem and maybe there is more to the werewolf/vampire folklore she has heard all her life. As weird “animal” attacks begin happening on campus and surrounding areas, things become tense as she has to figure out who she can trust.

The last 30% of the book, had me staying up until 2:30am because I just HAD to know how things ended! The last 30 % was action packed and had me on the edge of my seat. You may think you have the ending figured out, but you don’t!

The way things left off, I am thinking this will be a series. If so, I’m definitely locked in! There are many unanswered questions that I’m sure will likely get answered in book 2.

Vampires ! Werewolves ! Fated mates ! Age Old wars and broken treaties!

This book was so good. It was literally a page turner and just when you’d think you have it all figured out , you haven’t the slightest clue on what is actually happening!

This book honestly kept me on my toes and I enjoyed every minute of it. I loved the characters and even the side characters kept things interesting as well, but most of all trying to uncover all the truths and secrets is what had me unable to put this book down.

This book follows Mira as she enters Lakeland university while still dealing with the grief and gaping hole that was left in her due to her Mom’s sudden disappearance a few years prior. Though her mom left her and her father, the old tales of vampires and werewolves she used to tell Mira about never left her. As cases of victims being attacked by animals that they swear aren’t bears keep piling up, Mira starts to wonder if those stories her mom told her weren’t all just tales. Then eventually Mira finds her self in the middle of a long standing battle that she hardly knows anything about and the only people who seem to be able to give her information are her mother who is nowhere to be found and a mysterious boy named Julian who seems to despise her and refuses to tell her anything other than telling her she should leave .

This book gave twilight vibes for sure, vampire diaries and a splash of the movie underworld in my opinion. I just love Julian and I must admit at times Mira irritated me because of how combative and difficult she was at the absolute wrong times. All in all, I honestly can’t wait for the sequel because I need answers immediately with the way this book ended.

Thank you to the author , Netgalley and Page Street Publishing for the E-Arc in exchange for an honest review.

4/5

This book is Twilight’s cooler, edgier cousin—the one with better boundaries and a sharper bite. Blood Moon throws you into the eerie, secret-soaked town of Timber Plains, Kansas, where vampires, werewolves, and witches aren’t just urban legends—they’re real, and they’re watching.

Mira Owens is a breath of fresh (and fiercely independent) air. Smart, funny, and unwilling to fade into the background, she’s a heroine who takes up space in a genre that rarely makes room for girls like her. When she’s saved by Julian Santos—golden-eyed, secretive, and broody as hell—the slow-burn tension starts, and it sizzles.

The romance? Top-tier. The atmosphere? Deliciously creepy. The representation? Long overdue and so well done. While the supernatural conflict could’ve gone a bit deeper, the emotional stakes hit hard.

Thank you to NetGalley and publisher for the ARC!

This was an interesting nostalgic vampire and werewolf love story. It definitely gave me Vampire Diaries and Twilight vibes. I swear there were times it felt a bit like a Twilight parody. I will say while I enjoyed the overall premise there was just something that didn’t click with me. The writing style wasn’t my favorite and the pacing was a bit all over the place. I struggled connecting with the characters. They felt a bit underwhelming they seemed to be more tropey than anything else. I did enjoy Mira’s character the most she had the most depth and I liked the mystery surrounding her mother. The last 25% of the book starts to pick up but by then I was just kind of over it. I did enjoy the lore and the paranormal elements but I think I just wanted more. I think a lot of people will enjoy this, it just wasn’t my favorite. If you’re a team Jacob fan looking for a nostalgic read or a fan of YA books featuring paranormal romance at a university then this might be for you.

The author promotes this as being like the vampire diaries and it truely is.
It felt like I watched the first season of the tv show (very similar plot points but done uniquely ) and I devoured it. It felt nostalgic but fresh.
I Love the FMC and the love triangle (was it ever really though?) and the writing was so easy to get lost in.
If you want these vibes in a college setting / upper YA then definitely read this when it out!
Such a fun read

Blood Moon by Britney S. Lewis

Rating: ★★★★☆ [4 out of 5 stars]

“You can have me until every star in the galaxy has burned into nothingness”

What worked for me:
✨ Paranormal creatures!
✨ Incredibly loveable characters

Plot & Pacing:
📚 Medium, well-paced and FUN! Enemies-to-Lovers with mystery!

Characters:
👥 The characters are awesome. I adore all of the side characters as well as the main ones. I hope to get more background on them all in future books of the series.

Atmosphere:
🌟 Set near Kansas City, the author does a great job describing the setting and making us feel and understand the world. Most buildings were described as limestone with a surrounding forest, cozy!

Final thoughts: If you loved Twilight and The Vampire Diaries, this one is for you! The author noted inspiration from Twilight and TVD as well as Siren (haven’t watched that one, so I’m not able to note much about that bit) and specifically Bonnie Bennett (the best TVD character tbh). As someone who was a Twihard for many years, I can spot a lot of similarities between this story and Twilight’s in particular. Despite it’s similarities, it was refreshing to see how a more active FMC reacted to the events going on. I adored this book and am looking forward to the second book!

One final note: I will review this book on TikTok as well, closer to pub. date!

This book delivers small-town vampire sitcom vibes in the best, most unexpected way. By the time I was about 30% into the book I had questions that needed answers, just like the FMC!
The mystery surrounding Mirabella’s ancestry, especially the cryptic letters from Aedan the First, had me completely invested. The side characters bring another layer of charm and intrigue to the story. And don’t get me started on the chemistry between Mira and Julian? Magnetic. Seven & Mira? Equally delicious.

If you’re into YA with a dark twist: think vampires, werewolves, secrets, betrayal, and tension you can cut with a knife, this book is calling your name.

Thank you NetGalley and Page Street Publishing for approving thIs ARC for review consideration. All opinions are my own

This was just a good, fun time. With Twilight-esque vibes but also a campy CW feel, the mystery and twists to kept me turning the page.

DNF at 13%. The story felt lazy and oddly reminiscent of Twilight but worse. Unable to push through.
