As a parent of a spirited child and as someone who has read the third edition of this book, it was great to see this book being updated. It is a great resource for parents and provides useful tools to help with situations that can be overwhelming.

I loved the advice in this book, but I really wish it came with a workbook! Tracking progress would make a huge difference, especially when parenting feels like a constant uphill battle. The tips are great, though, and I'll definitely be looking for more from this author. Thanks to William Morrow and NetGalley for the ARC to read and give my honest review.

I am glad to see that this oldie but a goodie is being updated for the fourth time. It is a resource that has been helpful for me while raising my spirited son and I have been giving this out as a helpful tool to many of my clients who describe their children as such. A parenting book staple that needs to be added to the bookshelf.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the ARC!

Most nonfiction books I read are parenting ones. Raising Your Spirited Child by Mary Sheedy Kurcinka was exceptional! My youngest buddy is very spirited. I rated him a 5/5 on most categories she discussed. This book wasn’t just for his benefit though. It was for mine and my children as well. My favorite question that I will be adding to our life is “ do you want to be hugged, heard, or helped?” I know I’ll dig more into temperaments and hopefully can bring more peace into our lives through being calm, connected, and coached! The structure to this book made it easy to read and understand! It gave me encouragement and I hope it does the same for you.

What a necessary resource for us lucky parents who have a child that is wildly outside the box! This is not only a book to read over once but to keep on hand as they grow and their needs change or you have to approach something in a different way. It’s so helpful to know we aren’t alone or bad parents we just have what I call a “spicy chicken nugget” pick this up if you are also in the club!

Thank you NetGalley for the advanced copy of the newest edition !

As someone with a very spirited child, I was able to reflect quite a bit and try some of the suggestions. Which worked with my child. I would love if this had a matching workbook to pair with it, for reflection and being able to see progress in behaviors when we’re feeling like we’re in a loosing battle, to see hey, we’ve made progress. Definitely would get more self help books from this author
