Interesting storyline. Twisted ending. Didn't care for how the chapters were written. Meaning the name of the chapter is who was speaking for that chapter. Made it hard to follow. You'll understand if buy the book.

My Husband’s Mistress by Willow Rose? 5 stars, hands down!
This book had me hooked from the first page. It’s full of suspense, drama, and twists that kept me guessing the whole time. But let me tell you—the narrator is absolutely amazing. The way they brought the characters to life and made every twist hit harder? Perfect. The suspense was palpable, and the pacing was spot-on.
The story itself is juicy—full of secrets, lies, and betrayal. Every character is so well-done, and you’ll find yourself not trusting anyone—it’s that kind of book. The tension builds and builds, and the payoff is totally worth it.
5/5 stars. If you’re into thrilling mysteries with great narration and shocking twists, you NEED to read this one!

My Husband's Mistress by Willow Rose is the first book I've read by this author and it definitely won't be the last. This was an interesting psychological thriller filled with drama, betrayal, and unexpected twists. Darcy is a detective working a murder case, and the victim, it's the husband of Charlotte, the woman Darcy's own husband had an affair with. You can only imagine how twisted and dramatic the dynamics here were. Sadly, I do think Darcy's character made some unnecessarily stupid decisions and that the plot was too slow for my preferences. The audiobook narration was fantastic! The narrators really did a great job bringing their characters and the story to life.

This was a quick and engaging read, and an easy-to-follow thriller. Twisted and filled with suspicion, deception, and betrayal, this fast-paced story keeps you on the edge of your seat. The narrators, Lauryn Allman and Barbara Barnes, masterfully bring the characters to life. I found myself constantly questioning whom to believe in this clever tale of murder and deceit. The lines between victim and villain blur as the story unfolds, presenting countless shocking twists that I never saw coming.
Detective Darcy White is called to investigate the murder of a man found dead with his wife standing over him, blood on her hands. Darcy knows she should hand this case off to someone else because that wife is the woman who is having an affair with her husband. The chapters alternate between Darcy and the mistress, Charlotte, which I liked, as we gain insight from both perspectives. This book would make a good beach read, as it is quick to digest.

Wow! This was a great book, could not put it down. Will need to read more from this author for sure.

My Husband's Mistress was a solid, twisty read. It’s got that perfect mix of drama and suspense that kept me hooked throughout. The characters are intriguing, and the plot had some unexpected turns that made me want to keep listening. The narration was really good, too, bringing the tension to life. If you're into psychological thrillers with plenty of secrets and twists, this one’s definitely worth checking out!

This was certainly an interesting thriller. We get insight into Darcey White, a detective in FL married to Bradley. Her first case she is lead on, the murder of Charlotte Kane's husband, Charlotte also happens to be Bradley's mistress.
Lots of turns on this one. Lots of insight into being rich doesn't bring you happiness.

Unfortunately this was not a book that worked well for me as it was all over the place!
The ending sounded like it was convenient!

This mystery novel delivers a decent, engaging read, though it may not satisfy those craving a barrage of shocking twists. While not as serpentine as some might prefer, the story holds its own with a well-crafted plot that keeps you turning pages. The characters, however, are a mixed bag—some fall flat, and the theme of cheating, while frustrating, feels intentional, adding a layer of tension that enhances the story’s uneasy vibe.
The standout feature is the dual point-of-view narrative, which brilliantly immerses readers in the minds of both women at the heart of the mystery. This alternating perspective deepens the storytelling, offering insight and emotional complexity. For readers who enjoy character-driven mysteries with a touch of moral ambiguity, this book is a worthwhile, if not mind-bending, pick.

I requested this because of the premise and the description of the book. The narrator did a pretty good job, especially distinguishing the differences between the two women's voices so even if you weren't paying attention, you would still know who was talking.
I enjoyed this book, it kept my attention most of the time. It was slow in the beginning, but picked up around the halfway point.
The twist at the end I did not see coming. Overall I liked this book, it falls right in the middle of the thrillers I have read.
I received a complimentary ALC copy of My Husband's Mistress from NetGalley and Bookouture audio, my opinion is my own.

This thriller is engaging and is told in Dual POV 1st person which I enjoyed. Darcy, a detective has discovered her husband is cheating and then she was called on a murder case where she finds out her husband’s mistress Charlotte is the prime suspect. There were twists that kept you guessing and secrets among the characters that would have you questioning those characters as to their trustworthiness. The plot keeps you engrossed with all the secrets, betrayals, deception and lies.
This is more of a slow burn. The author did a great job with how descriptive she was in the storyline. Easily able to feel as though you are right there with the characters. Narrators were Lauryn Allman and Barbara Barnes, they both were exceptional.

This book was entertaining, but I found it to be a bit predictable and a bit far fetched at times. Overall, I still enjoyed listening to the audiobook. I think part of my problem was that I didn’t fully connect with the characters. If you’re looking for an easy to follow psychological thriller with dual POV, you may be interested in this book. The narrators did a nice job bringing the characters to life. Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture Audio for providing me with an ALC in exchange for an honest review.

This was a mystery with lots of twist and turns that will keep you enthralled.
Darcy, a detective, is called to a murder. Only she finds out that it's the husband of the woman he husband was having an affair with. I will say no more. It's good... read it! The narrator did an awesome job.

Story: 🌟🌟🌟
Narration: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Overall: 🌟🌟 🌟
A detective meets the wife of the victim and discovers that it is not only the woman her husband cheated on her with, but she is accusing her husband. This is a great hook, but I wish the rest of the story was as twisty. It was good and I was entertained by the narration, but I was left wanting more.

A really great idea for a story! You're a detective, on the job of a murder, when you meet the wife of the victim who is the woman your husband had been having an affair with. And she accuses your husband.
I found this story very interesting at the start, a crime focused thriller with a really cool concept, but as I read I struggled - it was more description than plot. The author is excellent at setting a scene, at describing the scenery around each character and the way they speak, look, and walk. But I found there too much description, not allowing much space for plot. And often superfluous descriptions of elements that are not relevant to the plot or characters (ie. a description of a store that the character drives past). If these were less frequent, I think it would be easier to look past, but the near constant descriptive language made these moments frustrating. A large amount of the descriptive language is self-reflection, monologue around the character's feelings, and thus feels repetitive.
I found all of the characters (except Carla!) to be frustrating, with very little substance. One of our Female Main Characters, our Detective White, is so clearly blinded by her personal connection to the case, it left me frustrated to leave. She seems clueless, and does very little police work towards this case - only taking one or two actions to actually solve what has happened.
(Semi-spoiler ahead)
I found myself frustrated with the ending. In first-person stories I find this sort of ending a cop-out. It doesn't make logical sense, when we as readers have been deeply entwined with the thoughts and decisions of a character, for a twist like this to occur. It was surprising, but more-so because it didn't make sense.
I listened to the audiobook and found the narrator an excellent choice for our main characters.

Detective Darcy White is aware that her husband, Bradley, is cheating on her with the beautiful Charlotte. Now, Charlotte's husband, Edward, has been murdered, and Darcy is in charge of the investigation.
The story unfolds from two different viewpoints and, although it didn't completely captivate me, it was still entertaining. It wasn't full of unexpected twists, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.
Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture Audio for the free copy of the book.

I enjoyed the audiobook. The narration was based on 2 POVs. The wife and the mistress.
Darcy is a detective and when asked to investigate a crime, the main suspect is none other than her husbands mistress. The mistress denies killing anyone and blames Bradley, the husband. Of course this is a conflict of interest but Darcy can’t resist. Does she want to get revenge by putting the mistress behind bars? Or will her gut tell her otherwise?
The book flowed nicely in audiobook version. The voice of the narrator was not monotone at all.

I liked it. A slow burn with enough intrigue to things moving. I didn’t see the twist coming!
I appreciated how well this was written -descriptive passages and effectively used ‘turns of phrases’. I look forward to reading other titles by Willow Rose.
-The narration of the audiobook is done by Lauryn Allman and Barbara Barnes. Their narration compliments the writing. It’s well done- clear, well paced and very easy to listen to.

Thank you Netgalley, Bookouture Audio and Willow Rose for the Audio Arc of My Husband's Mistress.
Narrated by Lauryn Allman, Barbara Barnes.
My Husband's Mistress is a standalone psychological thriller with a great plot line and a refreshing twists and turns. It's a duel POV, Darcy a hard working detective who feels lost and dejected. Having caught her husband cheating and is trying to build her marriage back. up she is called to investigate a local murder case. She comes face to face with her husbands mistress, Charlotte. Up steps the other POV, Charlotte as she navigates being the main suspect in her own Husbands murder.
Having the duel POV makes for a very tense, twisty thriller and just unravels at a great pace which keeps you engaged. The fiinale I didn't quite expect which is why it was so refreshing. Our female MC were built and developed really well. I felt quite a range of emotions for both Darcy and Charlotte and even though their actions are maybe morally borderline, I liked them both for that reasoning.
My Husband's Mistress was narrated by Lauryn Allman, Barbara Barnes. Both ladies made our female leads even more 3D and had wonderful voices.
