Thank you NetGalley! What a thrill of a book! This was definitely a Young Adult locked room thriller ala Agatha Christie. Each character experienced an intense situation as the book progressed. The flashbacks really helped set the tone for the present day

It starts with i friends, then 1 tragic accident and 6 remain. Flash fwd to graduation and who wouldn't wanna celebrate on a private island? What could go wrong?
Now someone is out to punish them, one by one.
This one is so breathtakingly suspenseful book, I couldn't read fast enough. I was dying to figure out who is secretly acting out their vendetta.
This has locked room, multiple povs, and slasher vibes, while they're being picked off one by one. Do they know who it is, or is it one of them?
And holy shit, that ending! Oh em gee
Grab this one asap!

Finished the book within 45 mins since my last update earlier today.
I liked that this was different for a Mystery/Thriller and I couldnβt guess who dunnit until it was revealed during the chapter it was mentioned!
Some of the characters were shallow and self centered even if they are fresh out of high school. No character development for any of them π€·ββοΈ

As someone who doesnβt typically enjoy βlocked roomβ books, this one was just wow - definitely gave me And Then There Were None vibes. This book was a page-turner, I read it in just a few hours because I couldnβt put it down. The multiple POV was so well done and helped make the story flow. I loved how the author perfectly intertwined the winter incident with the summer incident. It was seamless. While I did find most of the characters annoying - sorry, theyβre high school kids - they were well-developed.
I questioned everything and everyone as I read this, but there are no words for how edge of your seat this book kept me. Iβve already preordered it for release day on July 1st - this one is 100% worth adding to your TBR.
Thank you NetGalley & Sourcebooks for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I picked up this book because I was attracted by the blurb and it turns out that this is more horror than thriller, like a slasher movie I didnβt have to watch and I have to say that, though itβs not my genre, I think this book is amazing.
A group of 8 friends go on a skiing trip, but only 6 make it back. 18 months later, when HS graduation comes around, they decide to rent an island mansion and travel there to wait for the rest of their exclusive group of classmates to party all weekend. Then something happens and they start dying one after another without knowing if one of them is the killer.
The book is a total page turner and itβs written to keep you on the edge of your seat. I pride myself on being able to stomach anything and decided to read it despite the trigger warnings and did not regret it. The story flows easily and the author masters giving you just enough of glimpse to keep you going up until the last page.
Mysterious, thrilling and descriptive enough to play in your mind, TIWWD is a great read if you are into this kind of excitement.

This book was so fun to read! It kept me thinking about it even when I wasn't actively reading it. It had a fantastic isolated locked-room setting and plenty of twists to keep you on the edge of your seat and guessing at who is behind the murders. Cindy R.X. He weaves the narrative with flashbacks throughout the book in a way that only adds more tension to the story and also flawlessly flips between POVs in a way that keeps you engaged. If you're looking for a fast-paced and well-written thriller then definitely check this one out!

I liked this book. It had some unexpected twists and turns. Itβs definitely quite dark even for a locked room thriller but I still found it to be a fast paced and interesting read.
I liked the authorβs debut more than this book but would definitely read more of her books.
My main criticism of this book was that it had too many POVs. It was hard to keep track of who was narrating. Some of the characters were too similar and their relationships were too complex to keep it straight while reading.
Overall, a solid locked room thriller.

What. A. Book!
I absolutely devoured This Is Where We Die β and thatβs saying something, because after Perfect Little Monsters, my expectations were sky high. Honestly? I was kinda scared it wouldnβt live up to the hype. But Cindy R. X. He didnβt just deliver β she blew me away.
Picture this: six traumatized teens, a dark secret no one talks about, a remote island β and then? They start dying. One by one. YES PLEASE. It's like And Then There Were None meets Scream with a bit of The Hunting Party thrown in β but with its own unique vibe that keeps you hooked from the start.
Cindy nailed that classic locked-room mystery energy again. Six (!!) POVs and somehow it never feels overwhelming. Sure, it takes a sec to get your bearings, but once youβre in, youβre IN. The writing flows like crazy β chapter after chapter, twist after twist, you just canβt stop.
And yβall β that twist.
I was sitting there with my jaw on the floor. Then it dropped even further. THEN I had to reread the whole chapter because⦠WHAT JUST HAPPENED?!
This book isnβt just suspenseful β itβs nerve-shredding. Everyoneβs got secrets, everyoneβs shady, and trust? Nonexistent. I was second-guessing everything until the final page.
Bottom line? This Is Where We Die isnβt just a thriller. Itβs a full-blown adrenaline rush. If youβre into dark secrets, creepy island settings, and nonstop tension β this oneβs a must-read.
Cindy R. X. He just shot straight into my Top 3 thriller authors.
Read. This. Book. Now. πͺπ«οΈπ

This Is Where We Die is such an intense read! From the very beginning, I was consumed by the narrative. Not only does it harken back to Agatha Christieβs And Then There Were None, but also stories about the legendary Donner Party. It shows humanity at its basest form and the drive to survive no matter what. I loved the multiple POVs, the intense flashbacks, and the ways the plot kept me guessing. The stories covers a lot of sensitive topics, but He contextualizes them in a way appropriate for a teenage audience. Overall, a great locked-room thriller with the perfect amount of gruesome suspense and eery horror!
Thank you to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Fire for the e-arc in exchange for an honest review.

I absolutely enjoyed
reading this. Will definitely be recommending. Kept me really hooked I'll love to reread again

π² β β when we're alone together, we always end up dying. β
Thank you for this ARC!
After surviving a tragedy during a ski trip, the remaining six (of eight) members of a friend group come back together for a weekend trip to a private island β courtesy of one of the friendβs rich parents.
Firstly, it feels so unbelievably unlikely that any of these kidsβ parents would ever let them out of their sights, let alone let them take a helicopter to a private island with a few hours notice. Hell, one of the parents handed her daughter a box of condoms and drove off before even seeing if she made it into the house.
Once they made it to the island, they find a painting of the Donner party with eight figures painted: two of them have bright red Xβs crossed over them. This is the main source of mystery throughout the novel, and I was anxiously awaiting the reveal of who was slowly picking off the group one by one. However, when it was finally revealed, it sort of felt like it came out of nowhere? My smile literally fell when I realized where the story was going.
Lastly, while I appreciate the trigger warning at the beginning of the book, it COMPLETELY spoils what happens during the first trip (and even some of the second). Rather than it being the first page and completely unavoidable, I think it would have been better if it vaguely stated that there were some intense themes in the novel and then linked a webpage you could go to for further information; then, whoever needed the spoilers could get them while the people who could go without could continue on.

This was a fun young adult thriller, centered on 6 friends who spend a weekend after high school graduation at a secluded mansion for a last hurrah before they all move on to the next phase of their lives. These people were survivors of a horrific ski trip a couple years back, which makes them somewhat isolated from their peers and also leaves them with unresolved trust issues with each other. When it becomes clear that someone has an ulterior motive for bringing them to the mansion, they must fight for their lives. The story is told alternating through their POVs.
The story was cleverly done and I went back and forth trying to determine who the villain was. When it all came out, it made total sense and was scary and tragic all at the same time. The book was atmospheric and you could really feel the characters' fear as they realize that there is something sinister happening. They acted like teenagers, which I appreciated, making a mix of mature and less mature decisions. I did find their voices to be somewhat interchangeable, and wished they were a little more distinctive; there were times where I had to go back and remind myself whose chapter I was reading. I had to suspend my disbelief a bit about the fact that these people seemed to have the freedom and money to take so many vacations while they were in high school, but then again I never had an uber rich friend who could fund things like that, so maybe it's a thing.
Overall, I enjoyed this and thought it hit the right creepiness and tone of a YA novel, with good suspense and a well-thought-out storyline. I'd recommend to those who like mysteries and locked-room type thrillers. Thanks to Netgalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This book is exactly what a young adult thriller should be! Gripping, twisty, emotional, and very cleverβthe stakes are high from the first moment and never drop. The characters are all both extremely flawed and sympathetic in their own ways, and they make plenty of logical decisions and come up with compelling theories while facing the threat of an unknown killer with them on a remote island. I felt compelled to keep reading all the way through to find out the truth, as each of my own theories was proven wrong.

This one was a fun thriller, and I enjoyed reading it! I will say that there might have been too many POVs for me to follow coherently at times, but I still liked it! The pace was fast and I remained engaged the entire time 3.70 stars

A group of eight friends go on a ski trip and only six survive the trip. No one really knows what happens. After graduation, Sadie rents a mansion on a remote island for the class. Only these six surviving kids show up. No one else can get there. Clearly someone is out to get these six kids. But who? And why? It was just ok to me.

This is a young adult And Then There Were None. I wish I could read it for the first time again. After the first couple of pages I wasn't sure I would like it, then I TORE through 200 pages like it was nothing. There were good twists and everyone was a suspect. There Were a couple of ways I thought it could resolve, and the end was satisfying. The story is told from multiple points of view which allows for more depth of character development than what we would have gotten otherwise. This is great for readers of Karen McManus or Holly Jackson.

Sadie, Will, Isla, Anthony, Emily, and Charlie are survivors of a horrific ski tragedy that resulted in the deaths of their guide and two friends. The details of the deaths are hazy and hushed up by Sadie's wealthy family. The six teens all deal with the outcome of their tragedies in different ways -- some relentlessly moving on with their future ambitions, while others cope with intense therapy or even alcohol.
When a viral TikTok famous mansion becomes available for rent, Sadie's friends pressure her to rent it. The six survivors then arrive at the remote island getaway and strange things start to happen. There's a haunting picture out of place of the pristine paradise; the servants are mysteriously missing; and all form of contact has been cut off.
The teens' unease quickly transforms to paranoia and terror as, one by one, they fall. Will the survivors endure another tragedy? Or has someone--or something-- come for revenge?

Who's next?! This is an edge of your pants thriller where you never know what is going to happen next! Fast paced and original, this book is definitely a read you need to get!

I wanted to love this so much! This has a wonderful premise, but the multiple POVs blended together too much for the read to be enjoyable. I DNFed it around 60% in.
Thank you, Netgalley, for the opportunity to read the ARC.

What A great book! Starts off slow so you can get the full story as you are dealing with two different time lines. But stick with it as you see things through different POV as more to the story comes out and you keep guessing who is behind the craziness happening in the present! Love this book!
