This is Book 4 in Cass' amazing Series 'The Little Cornish Cove', and these books just keep getting better and better.
In this book, we follow Kate and Rick and their rollercoaster ride of a story!
I absolutely adore Cass' cover art on this series as each book is absolutely beautiful and also feels lovely to the touch.
Cass had an amazing way of writing, and as you read, you get dragged into the story and really get to know the characters so much so that you just fall in love with them.
Kate and Rick are no different... and their story is quite unique.
The side characters are utterly amazing in these books. We constantly hear about/see characters from previous books, so you always see what's happening with them but it's the locals that truly takes the side characters' limelight...
They are absolutely hilarious, and the things they come out with just tickled me at times.
Cass is extremely clever with her writing as Book 1 started with a mystery about Aunt Meg that wasn't fully uncovered and Cass feeds you little crumbs as you read through the story so you are constantly aware that this cosy mystery is lurking in the background but it never detracts from the main stoey of the book you're reading.
It's absolutely fantastic!
I honestly can't rave about this book enough. It really is a warm hug of a book and would be utterly perfect to read when you want something light, cosy, and just lovely to read.
If you haven't already, you absolutely need to read this series and while you COULD read as a standalone, I would wholly recommend you start from Book 1 and make your way through in the correct order so you get to read about the Aunt Meg Mystery in order.
Fantastic book as always, and I can't wait to read Book 5!

A lovely addition to the series I loved Kate and how she was trying to restart her life after her disastrous marriage and how she was trying to rebuild for her daughter She was made very welcome by her friend Anna and her husband. Such a lovely easy series to read.

It was so good to have another trip to Polkerran Point and enjoy seeing another romance bloom and two people figure out what they want most in life.
The quirky locals were all included in this visit, thankfully I have read the previous 3 books so I was well versed in those quirks and how everyone related to each other already. Seeing how some of them had evolved and how they did through the course of Kate's story was wonderful and has me hopeful of a fifth, at least, return to the Cove if only to see how those evolutions pan out!
This story was an interesting one although part of me does feel that Leigh was a bit too much of an opposite to Kate and it makes me wonder how she and Dev got together in the first place?! Kate was great with Theo, putting his needs first and with the Fete/Festival making it more about the village than just a vessel to impress her fashionable city friends.
It was good to get some more pieces to the mystery of Meg and all that happened to her which made her stay in Polkerran Point and take Anna so much under her wing. Although her story does feel complete now there's a part of me that wonders if there might still be more to her story, Meg was a woman of many mysteries!

Before reading this book, I read the first three books (I'd read book 1, "New Dreams at Polkerran Point," in a book blog tour the author set up with an organizer in the UK, and then purchased books 2 and 3 from an online retailer). I'm so glad I did! It was lovely to revisit Polkerran Point and its unique people. It's like visiting a fun place I'd love to visit on vacation! I'm also glad I did, because while the books *can* stand lone, it's more fun to get all the background info for deeper understanding of the characters.
This book focuses on Kate and her daughter Mollie, who move to Polkerran at the invitation of Anna (from book 1). Kate meets Rick "Dev" Devonshire, and it (of course) doesn't go as well as one might wish. But hope springs eternal, and Kate and her optimistic can-do attitude eventually break down the walls of Dev's damaged heart. To his credit, he does not jump into a new relationship too soon (no spoilers here!), and for that I admire him. He is also good friends with Anna's Oliver.
Highly recommend. Looking forward to book 5!

This was just ok for me. The story felt muddled but too many characters and Kate was very stuffy and formal. Not the best main character. The romance was severely lacking and that made the story feel rushed at the end.

I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
This was a cozy, heartwarming, wonderful book. I enjoyed it a lot!

Kate Stretton moves to Cornwall, eager to rebuild her life and give her daughter a new beginning. But when she clashes with Rick Devonshire, the festival sponsor with a past as painful as her own, sparks fly. With the festival on the line and the whole town rallying behind them, Kate and Rick must decide if they’re brave enough to take a second chance at love. Can they overcome their pasts and let love in once more?

Thanks NetGalley for the ARC of A Fresh Start at Polkerran Point by Cass Grafton, published by Canelo
This book was ok for me, I had a hard time connecting with the characters, they seemed too simple and always seemed to be avoiding the obvious connection that they felt. It's a cozy, lighthearted story, I would have enjoyed more character depth and would have liked the 2 main characters to have had more of a relationship earlier on in the novel.
I've never read this author before and I'd happily read another of her books

Thanks to the Publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.
I loved being back in Polkerran Point.
Kate, has come out of a marriage where she wasn’t happy and is looking for a fresh start. With her daughter Mollie they come Polkerran Point, living with her friend Anna until they find a place to move into.
She enjoys her new job at the hotel, but it’s not keeping her that busy. Then she becomes aware of the fayre may not take place as the previous organiser, Leigh not being interested to organise it, Kate announces that she’ll take over..
She will have to talk to Rick, who is Leigh’s husband living with his grandy.
I loved Mrs Lovelace and the way she says some words.
I highly recommend this book.

sometimes a fresh start is wanted. sometimes its needed. and wouldnt we all like to have the chance or choice to do so? i love these stories that although have the characters going through sometimes averse occurrences, they still manage to make a choice and make a change. sometimes via luck and sometimes via strength and determination. and who wouldnt love to escape to these little communities. yes please, sign me up.
these stories are some of my favorite. and with that i cant believe this is my first from this author. and it will not be my last. im already trying to find the other books. my TBR list is increasing by the day!

A Lovely Read.
I think it is a pleasure not to be underestimated to sink back into a series of books you have enjoyed from book one. A Fresh Start at Polkerran Point introduces new characters to this series but also revisits old haunts and familiar faces.
It is usually the sign of a good book when I sneak off to read more during the day as I did with this title. I really enjoyed the story of Kate, her daughter, Mollie, Dev and his son, Theo as well as catching up with familiar characters such as Kate and Oliver and Mrs Lovelace. Polkerran almost feels familiar enough to walk around by now and I thoroughly look forward to the next episode.

This is a heartwarming tale of renewal, resilience, and unexpected romance set in a charming coastal town. The story centers on Sarah—a determined woman who leaves behind a troubled past in search of a new beginning—and introduces us to a cast of memorable characters who enrich her journey. Sarah’s transformation is supported by her steadfast friend Jenna, whose warm-hearted advice and unwavering loyalty help anchor Sarah in her new life. Along the way, she encounters Michael, a mysterious local with his own hidden scars. Their paths cross in ways that challenge Sarah’s guarded heart and gradually kindle a tender, unexpected connection.
The descriptions of Polkerran Point and its tight-knit community bring the setting vividly to life, making every seaside sunset and friendly chat feel intimate and real. The interplay between Sarah, Jenna, and Michael forms the emotional core of the story, showcasing how the bonds of friendship and the spark of new love can lead to healing and transformation.
Overall, it is an uplifting read that celebrates the beauty of fresh beginnings, where each character plays a pivotal role in inspiring hope and lasting change.

This was a good light romance. I really enjoyed the characters and the storyline. I did not know when I started that this was a part of a series and even though it can be read as a standalone, I do wish I had read the series in order to get to know the other characters better. But other than that it was a 4 star read. Slow-burn all the way with a HEA at the end. I thoroughly recommend you read this book!
I received this book for free in exchange for my honest review!
Thank you Netgalley and Canelo for this ARC!

Kate stretton has been stuck in an unhappy marriage only staying for her daughter mollie sake.
But now shes decided shes had enough and moves to cornwall for a fresh start.
Rick Devonshire is going through the same but with a young child and a wife tat puts her carrier first constantly leaving them behind.
Kate's new job involves organizing the local festival only to find out that most of the people that usually help out have pulled out when the previous organizer left.
Kate and Ricks paths keep crossing and theres definatley a spark but ricks cercumstances get in the way.

Kate Stretton needs a fresh start following the awful ending to her marriage. With her thirteen-year-old daughter, Mollie, they head to Polkerran Point to stay with her friend, Anna, until a property becomes available.
Enjoying her new job in the local hotel, Kate wishes she was busier, hotel life isn’t quite filling the spot. When she hears the summer fayre may not take place due to Leigh not being interested, she decides to head up getting the local fayre back on track. This does mean that she will have to deal with Rick, Leigh’s estranged husband, who Kate can’t help but feel like a hormonal teenager around!
Oh, how I loved being back at Polkerran point! This is a warm and inviting tale, feeling as though I was back amongst friends.
I enjoyed Kate’s story and loved getting to know her and Mollie. Mollie is a lovely character, just at that hormonal age, going from lovely to sassy in ninety seconds flat!
This is a romantic and humourous tale. I couldn’t stop myself from laughing out loud at Mrs Lovelace and her way with words, very entertaining.
I highly recommend this series, and if you fancy a trip to Cornwall, give this series a go.
My thanks to Canelo and NetGalley for a copy in exchange for my honest review.

I didn’t know this book was part of a series so it definitely works as a stand alone but the other books in the series sound fabulous too so I may have to check those out.
Set in beautiful Cornwall and with such descriptive writing this small town romance is such an easy read. I enjoyed reading about Kate and Rick and the journey they go on to find their happy endings. It’s a perfect Cornish read with a host of fabulous characters and escapism.
Thank you NetGalley for this ARC.

Escapist romance at its best, the return to magical Polkerran Point and its quirky residents didn’t disappoint. The focus this time was on single mother Kate and gorgeous but troubled Dev whose path to each other and away from their difficult paths isn’t an easy one but filled with enough drama and light hearted moments to keep the pages turning. Beautifully written the setting and its occupants leap off the page and into your imagination making it a thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing read. Can’t wait for the next one!

Thanks to NetGalley, the publisher and the author for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This is book four of five in The Little Cornish Cove Series but can be read as a standalone which I have done. This is the story about Kate who decides that her life is going nowhere so moves to the stunning Cornwall with her daughter. But Cornwall has a steady and slow pace of life and it is a lot different to what Kate is use to, can she really make a fresh start of it. Whilst in Cornwall Kate meets Rick and little does Kate know but he is going through similar things she has been through, can they both help each other heal? It was a slow but easy read, I loved the descriptions of Cornwall it is such a beautiful setting for a book. I enjoyed the way Cass writes, all the details too especially with the characters. A perfect little read.

A sweet story set in Cornwall and a author I am happy to return to time and time again. This story is such an easy and relaxing read which I read so quickly as I enjoyed it so very much. My thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this book in return for an honest review.
