A kind of Pinocchio story about the nature of lies. The illustrations are super cool - maybe a bit scary for toddlers but would be OK for kids of 5 and above. A memorable lesson with a relatable situation. As a parent or an educator you definitely want to keep this book on your shelf.

Probably a little too scary for my 4 year old daughter but I appreciated the message here. It did leave her confused why “he didn’t listen” and went on to create the fib again in a different way. Will be better suited for kids who are a little older than my daughter.

The premise is very familiar, since it depicts a fib as a monster that keeps growing and growing, and keeps creating more havoc. However, this book builds on that familiar concept in a memorable way. The main character learns to take accountability and tell the truth, instead of lying to try to impress people, and he also learns how to corral his creativity in a positive direction. I especially appreciated the ending, and the colorful, bold illustrations are very dramatic and fun.

OMG the artwork is so adorable and it takes me back to my childhood. Such a cute and short message with great morals of how a small fib can grow because after one fib you're going to have to tell another after another after another.

This was a very cute story to teach kids the importance of telling the truth even with the smallest detail.

This is a very cute and informative children's book about fibs and how they can quickly get out of control. The story was great in portraying how one little fib could become something much bigger and dangerous the more that the fib is added to. Given the content, I think it would be best for first graders and up.

What a creative way to introduce children to what a fib is and why even the tiniest lies can be harmful — especially when lies start to compound.

I love that Pepe took accountability once his teacher explained what a fib was and how to make things right again. It shows kids what it looks like to come clean and to apologize. It made that part - letting the truth out - seem less daunting.

The artwork is lovely and the story itself is even more beautiful.

As a children's librarian, I can see myself reading a story like this during story time at the library or during school outreaches. The moral of the story is great and the illustrations are beautiful.

I really liked the fact that it was taught as show not tell strategy which made the moral alot more impactful. The artwork is super fun and really brings the story to life. It's a great read for young readers and a nice way to start a conversation about telling the truth!

The Fib by Pedro Iniguez is about a young scholar who struggles to find something to share for for show and tell. This book is a great tool for explaining how lies can spiral beyond your control. It will encourage young readers to consider what might happen when you don't tell the truth. The illustrations are engaging and this book will encourage readers to think about honesty, responsibility and the great power of creativity. PS The monster is not real. Hope you enjoy reading the book as much as I did.

This book was beautifully illustrated and had a great message showing kids the impact telling a lie can have on everyone around and how one small lie easily turns into many lies. I also appreciated that it showed how to resolve the problem by coming clean and telling the truth to combat the lies. Great moral lesson for kids.

Beautifully illustrated and a great way to show little ones how lies spread and snowball into more trouble for them. Also shows how to resolve the problem once stated. Wonderful. Would recommend for ages 3-8.

A beautifully illustrated picture book that demonstrates what happens if you tell a FIB and allow it to grow out out of control! Love the way this story teaches children how to correct the FIB if they should ever be in this position. I will definitely be buying copies for our school. I can see this leading to some great discussions.

My 3 and 6-year-old enjoyed this book together. My 6-year-old loved it because of the monster, but after discussing it, she really grasped the book's message. It's a great story for explaining how lies can spiral out of control.
She said she would give this book to a friend to read.
