I received this book as an ARC from NetGalley.
I read this book in two sittings and I feel I didn't understand it. I think maybe I would need to go back and reread it, in paperback, with a highlighter and a pen to make notes.
The story follows a soldier who encounters the modern day Jesus, and this story follows their interactions. The writing is in the style of a very unreliable narrator who jumps around a lot. Sometimes it isn't clear who is speaking and to who.
I struggled to read this, I am Christian and have a strong knowledge of the Bible and theology but I think a lot of this still went over my head. The author was obviously trying to link current day events into what he was talking about but using metaphors instead of real names or events.

This book completely caught me off guard in the best way. Jesus Has Returned isn’t just another “what if” religious novel—it’s a bold, deeply personal, and thought-provoking story that follows a soldier’s encounter with a man claiming to be the Messiah, walking among us in today’s world. The blend of spiritual curiosity, historical challenge, and raw emotional struggle made it a really compelling read. I found myself questioning things I never thought to question, and I genuinely enjoyed the perspective-shifting experience.

Okay, WHAT did I just read?! In the best way possible. This book had me flipping pages like I was on a mission from heaven (pun intended). It’s not preachy—it’s punchy, wild, and makes you wonder if that random guy in the coffee shop could actually be, well… you know, Him. The soldier’s journey? Totally unfiltered and real. The message? Mind-blowingly gutsy. If you’ve ever wanted a book that grabs your brain and your soul—this is it.
