Focusing on three women, grandmother, mother and daughter, the history of Nicaragua becomes three-demensional . I enjoyed all three of the characters for they showed how as generations grow up, views change and yet the bond of family is strong.

I've started and restarted this book any number of times since I was approved for it. I just haven't been able to get going in it. The characters and plot sound like the sort of thing I find engaging, but no luck...

Beautifully written, the stories in this gripping novel are heartbreaking and real. This title is definitely being added to my list for book clubs and reading groups!!
