What's Yours Is Mine by Jennifer Jabaley was an excellent thriller, read especially as Jennifer is a new author for me to get my teeth into and this book did not disappoint. It was full of twists and turns with growing tension throughout that will have you hooked from the very beginning and the ending was excellent. The characters were brilliant, especially as the story was told in multiple POVs which made me turn the pages over quickly to find out what happens next. It was messy, emotional, and very addictive, before I knew it I was on the last chapter.
I highly recommend this book. . . .Great holiday read.
Thank you to Lake Union Publishing and Jennifer Jabaley for the ARC

๐ค๐๐๐๐๐ข ๐๐๐๐๐๐...Determined daughters. Controlling mothers. There is no such thing as friendly competitionโฆ.
๐ชฉ๐๐๐๐ ๐ธ ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ ๐๐๐ข...Having been in the world of competitive dance for 10+ years with my daughters I knew I HAD to read this one! ๐ฏโโ๏ธWow! It was a juicy, drama-filled ride that captures this cutthroat world well!! I am so thankful our competition dance isnโt like this. ๐Phew. ๐คค Have yall seen dance moms because this cray world does get this ruthless though?!? ๐ณI can see why everyone at @thrillerbookloversthepulse has rated this one so high. Kept me entertained the whole time. ๐The audio๐ง is also on KU & I found it to be a great addition to reading the bookโ ๐

I really enjoyed this book. I worried it might be about teenage drama, but it was not! I liked the multiple POV and seeing how one mom was very into the dance world and one was not into it at all. Loved watching all those dynamics play out. I couldn't put this one down!

What's Yours Is Mine is full of twists, which I loved. The first half of the book was setting up for the climax of the story. The author did an incredible job in showing the reader the personalities of each of the characters. She did a great job bringing the characters to life by allowing the reader to get an inside view of how each was thinking, feeling, and how their reactions were telling of their personalities.
From the beginning, the author's writing grabbed my attention and had me on the edge of my seat. I was intrigued by the characters and the alternating points of view. I was eager to find out what was ultimately going to lead to the resolution of the ongoing conflicts between the characters.
I respected that each character introduced served a purpose. There weren't just random characters to distract from the storyline. Most of the characters you'll be torn between liking and hating. Except for one, whom I never found any redeeming qualities-Elise.
There were times when I wanted to skip past sections of the book because I wanted so badly to know what was ultimately going to happen with the characters. Was the truth going to come out? Was Elise finally going to get what she deserved? Who caused the injury to Colette? Will past hurts be healed? All questions were answered, even if they were answered in surprising and unexpected ways.
I recommend the book to fans of thriller books because this isn't the typical thriller. It will leave you oddly satisfied in the end.

Even though the synopsis if this book didn't sound original to me, I was intrigued by the tropes this book promised to deliver.
And I thought the writing was okay, decent enough. Easy and quick to follow through, but I personally didn't care for the characters or how the execution went through. The twists can be very predicatable, if you are an avid mystery/thriller reader, and all in all, nothing surprising about this book. I don't regret reading it, but I'd say that this book might be more interesting for readers who have just begun reading mystery or thriller novels.

This book pulled me in right away! Itโs messy, emotional, and addictive. I loved how this author captured the intensity of ambition and rivalry, both in the girls and their moms , and how sacrifice and competition can blur so many lines.
If you love a suspense with drama, obsession, rivalry and tension, pick this one up now!

My thoughts ๐ญ
If you like Dance Momโs then this book is for you but with a twist. I started this book knowing nothing about it and I ate this book up.
The story follows two teenage best friends Colette and Kate and their moms Valerie and Elsie. Elsie is obsessed with her daughterโs dance achievements while Valerie is a mom just trying to understand and reconnect with her daughter.
This book had friendly completion that turns the besties into rivals. It was very entertaining from the very beginning. The twist in this book was NOT what I thought at all but I loved it.
Highly recommend reading this book! ๐
Thank you @netgalley for gifting me a copy of this book, all opinions are my own. ๐ค

This is a story about mothers and daughters, and the price that dreams and ambitions can extract from the dreamers.
Kate and Colette are best friends and gifted dancers, who both aspire to reach great heights. But only Collette has a determined and ambitious mother (who Kate also adores), who will do anything to see her succeed. So, when Kate unexpectedly outshines Collette, sparks are bound to fly...
A perceptive and absorbing story, this one is worth reading. The narrator also does an excellent job with the audiobook. My only gripe was the strange pronunciation of Colette's name!
The writer ties up loose ends with impressive skill and delivers a final twist that is guaranteed to please readers.

If you are a fan of Black Swan, Dance Moms, or the idea of a dance based thriller, this book is for you! Kate and Colette have been best friends since they were little, bonded at their love for dance. Kateโs mom Valerie and Coletteโs mom Eliseโฆ. not so much. A young, single mom, Valerie is just trying to balance everything around her. Elise, rich, married, a former prima ballerina, wants nothing more than for Colette to be the best. But when Kate and Colette both get accepted to compete in a competition, tensions rise and accusations are made. And whatโs going on in Valerieโs love life? And what really happened during Eliseโs time as a prima ballerina?
This was my first ever ARC and my first Jennifer Jabaley book but it definitely wonโt be my last! The plot was so interesting, dance based thrillers might be my new favorite subgenre.
I really liked all of the characters especially as the book was told in a 3-person perspective switching between Elise, Valerie, and Colette. At first it definitely took some adjusting to and keeping track of who was talking got confusing occasionally but after a few chapters I was locked in!
When Valerie felt like she was a bad mother, I really felt for her. When Colette was stressed about dance, so was I. When Elise was suspicious about other dancers, I was questioning them myself.
Overall, a really great book that any thriller reader should put on their list to buy as soon as it comes out on August 19th!

Having kids involved in performance arts is what initially drew me to this novel, as it's about two teenagers competing for a prestigious ballet award. I love seeing my kids in shows, no matter what role they are playing, and will cheer them on every time. And it always makes me happy when my oldest gives me a shout-out in his bio. However, I would never do what one of the mothers in this novel did for her daughter to try to put her ahead of everyone else.
While this book is set up as a thriller, it has more of a domestic suspense feel. There are some parts that are more intense and there is a mystery involved, but overall it's about the lengths people will go to in order to win a competition (whether it's for themselves or for their children). There are a few different perspectives alternating through the story, but Elise is so unlikable that seeing her point-of-view doesn't change how I feel about her. She just made me so angry the entire time and I really wanted to yell at her.
Jennifer Jabaley is a skilled writer and keeps the story engaging throughout. I didn't know who to believe at times and I just wanted Valerie to come out on top after everything she had been through in her life. I was definitely nervous for her the most. I could also relate to her in terms of her level of support for Kate. She was more hands-off, while still caring and taking an interest. Of course, Kate didn't see it that way.
Overall, this was a really good novel and I'm still thinking about it! There are a lot of twists and turns that will keep you guessing as to what really happened.
(Trigger warnings below.)

What's Yours Is Mine is such a relatable story. Elise is a former ballerina who has her daughter, Colette, in ballet. Colette's best friend, Kate is also in ballet. Kate really looks up to Elise. Her and Colette are such close friends, they're more like sisters. But Kate's mom, Valerie, is bothered by how much Kate looks up to Elise, how much time she spends with them, how she goes to Elise for advice and big life choices. Valerie is a single, hard working mom, doing whatever she can to provide for her and Kate. Elise is also married to a man that Valerie is very much attracted to. So, of course she begins to build animosity towards Elise.
Since Kate and Colette are also in the same ballet class, what began as two but friends helping each other out in something they both enjoy, turns into a friendly but not se friendly competition. The loved the secrets, the sabotage, the betrayal, the jealousy, it makes the story so much more realistic. It gives off such dance mom vibes, where the mothers become rivals because they will do whatever it takes to see their daughters at the top!
This was mysterious, thrilling, twisty, and captivating! I definitely recommend giving this one a read!

If you are a fan of any dance or cheer mom reality tv, then youโll love this drama. Itโs centered on two 15 year old premiere dancers, Kate and Colette, and their families in a dance studio in Atlanta.
The book also has some suspense as one of the dancers is injured before a HUGE competition and honestly there are multiple people that could have hurt her.
I found beside the story itself that I really liked the way the book is written. There are 4 main characters (2 moms/2 daughters) and we get three of their points of view. I thought the absence of the one point of view was quite intriguing! It added to the drama and suspense for me.

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC, in exchange for an unbiased review.
3.5 stars, rounded up.
I am not a thriller or whodunit fan, but I did grow up in the world of competitive dance, so this novel piqued my interest. It has a well-paced plot against the backdrop of teen competitive dance, and interesting, well-fleshed-out cast of characters (with the exception of Chad, the resurfaced ex, who feels like a forgotten afterthought)...though Trey (the boyfriend), Valerie (the FMC mother), and Andrew (the other FMC mother's husband) are such limp, easily led characters that it was hard to root for any of them.
I do wish the book had focused more on the teen dancers, and their complicated dynamic, rather than Elise, the crazy-wife-trope. And, my biggest criticism of this book is that while it was extremely engaging throughout, the last 2 chapters just felt like the writer got bored with the story, gave up, and threw some tying of loose ends together.

Wow - went into this read totally blind and was enthralled by the story of competitive dance girls and their moms. I truly was caught off guard by the end - didnโt see it coming. Highly recommend - especially to anyone with an interest in the dance world. Great character development and some you really canโt stand.

Colette and Kate are best friends, almost like sisters. They are competitive dancers. Colette comes from a privileged background. Mom Elise is a former prima ballerina and has high hopes for Colette. Kateโs mom, Valerie, is a single working mom, who really doesnโt understand her daughterโs passion for dance. Elise takes Kate under her wing, until she starts seeing just how talented Kate really is. Tensions rise as a competition pits Colette and Kate against each other bringing out some ugliness. A violent attack will send shock waves through the town and have them pointing fingers. It will put family against each other and friends trying to do the right thing.
This is a deep dark dive look into the world of competitive dance. Just like any sport, itโs where friends become rivals, mothers become controlling and secrets and gossip are just a phone call or whisper away. I thoroughly enjoyed this fast-paced psychological thriller. Think Dance Moms meets I, Tonya. Told in four different voices, chapters are just long enough to get into the heads of each characters and they flow seamlessly. The turmoil that each girl is filled with is heartbreaking and realistic. You can feel their pain, frustration. So many twists and turns to throw you off until the final curtain call.
Thanks to NetGalley and Lake Union Publishing for this ARC. This is my honest opinion.

First of all I love this cover! Secondly, this book was so interesting. You get an up close and personal glimpse of the competitive world of dance. You see the dynamics between mothers and daughters and so much more. Thanks to Netgalley for the arc.

This suspenseful view into the competitive world of dance is fascinating and the writing draws you in from the very first page. I love that we see various points of view and really get to know the characters...or do we? It's fast-paced, tension building, and has a few surprising twists that keep the pages turning. A perfect poolside or beach read for these last days of summer.

Captivating Page-turner. Whatโs Yours is Mine drew me in from the very first page and kept me hooked until the end. This story is not just about the competitive world of dance, but the dynamics of mother/daughter relationships. The story-line and character developments were so interesting that I was thinking about the book during the day and could not wait to read it at night. The author did a great job keeping me guessing with all the twists and turns. It was an enjoyable read that I would highly recommend.

What's Yours Is Mine is an unhinged psychological mystery that taps into the world of competitive dance, stage moms and their ruthless drive for success (think Dance Moms with sabotage and TikTok). Valerie's daughter Kate is a talented dancer who has grown up in the shadow of her best friend, Colette. Colette's mom Elise is a former dancer and provides every their family's wealth allows to Colette's passion. Kate, whose mom wants her to focus on something more practical long term, doesn't understand Kate's obsession with dance and Colette's family-she is desperate for Kate to want to connect with her again. When both girls are selected to compete in a national dance competition that can lead to agencies, contracts with elite dance companies and huge prize money, the stakes are never higher. Elise will stop at nothing for Colette to succeed and have the opportunities she lost. The rivalry and tension mounts as a violent incident threatens to ruin everyone. Told from three perspectives, readers are taken into the crazy world of Elise, Valerie and their daughters. At times, the story was over the top-but still intriguing enough to fly through the pages to find out "whodunnit". Most of the characters aren't likeable but that seems purposeful-Elise most of all and were a little one-dimensional. This is Jennifer Jabaley's adult debut and her YA roots are evident but readers who enjoy rivalries, crazy moms and drama will enjoy her new release. 3 stars rounded up to 3.5 for the ending/twist.
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest feedback.

I could not put this book down!! It's the perfect blend of twisty domestic suspense and nuanced family drama, and I found myself relating to each of the characters at different points in the book. It's the story of two families whose lives center around their high school daughters' competitive dance, and how everything turns sideways when the two best friends become rivals instead. There are hidden pasts, long-held secrets, and acts of unexpected generosity where you least expect them. I especially loved the ending, which I absolutely didn't anticipate.
If you liked Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty or You Will Know Me by Meghan Abbott, you're going to love this one!
