This was a cute aesthetic autumnal read that reminded me of the pumpkin spice cafe and I loved it! Thanks so much Simon teen

What a fun, cozy, autumn read! Going into the book I thought it was going to be a straight romance, but I was pleasantly wrong. I enjoyed the second chance romance, but I really enjoyed Ellis's story and what it took for her to finally realize the things that really made her happy. I also really loved her mom. She was Ellis's biggest fan even when Ellis was angry at her. All in all great read and will definitely be on our shelf!

What a great story. This definitely has all the feels to it. Ellis is someone I was rooting for from the beginning. Alone, Jake and Cooper were great additions to this cast of characters and this story was so well set up that I was right there at every scene. I could see every leaf and cookie it was great scene development for sure. I want to live in Bramble Falls for sure. I love the small town vibe.

I would highly recommend this book!

I want to thank NetGalley and Simon Schuster Children’s Publishing for this advanced reader copy and this is my honest review.

I absolutely adored this book; it grabbed me from the first scene and never let go. The characters are memorably written (they feel like friends you’d actually miss), and Ellis, the FMC, showed a lot of growth and self discovery through the book. But the real highlight is the chemistry between Cooper and Ellis: slow-burn tension, sharp banter, and those heart-in-your-throat near-misses that land again and again. I highly recommend this book for anyone who loves a coming-of-age story with a heartfelt romance and characters you’ll miss after the last page.

Favorite quote from the book: “Look, all I know is I’m not going to spend the rest of my life doing something I’m not passionate about. Not when doing something I love is an option. Nothing is guaranteed in any career, so I might as well be chasing my dreams.”

Cute small town fall vibes. Worth the read and a great palate cleanser from dark romance. I loved the FMC in this book.

Thank you NetGalley for this advanced copy of Falling Like Leaves. This Young Adult book by Misty Wilson is a perfect fall read! When main character Ellis and her mom suddenly move to Bramble Falls for a few months, Ellis doesn’t think she can survive. It’s her senior year and colleges and internships are on her mind. But now in a new place she is thrown into a town full of fall festivals and traditions. Those seeking their PSL and apple picking season are in for a real treat.

This book is the perfect cozy/fall read, it was light, sweet, and had all the autumn vibes. This book is a good transition for when summer’s ending and you’re ready to dive into sweater weather and warm drinks. And let’s be real… childhood friends to lovers? I’m sold. Every. Time.

I really liked Cooper, he wasn’t afraid to call Ellis out on her choices, because let’s be honest… Ellis could be selfish and she didn’t consider how her actions affected others. She also wasn’t really helpful unless there was something in it for her.

With that said, I didn’t really connect with Ellis. The way she treated Jake? Not okay. Canceling on the dance literally hours before?? Girl, no. Jake deserved better. And the way he handled the corn maze situation? Major props to him.

But overall, this book was fun and gave me all the fall feels. I can see it being a comforting re-read every year when the leaves start to turn.

Thank you to Misty Wilson, Simon and Schuster Children’s Publishing | Margaret K. McElderry Books, and NetGalley for providing me with an e-ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you so much to Simon Teen for the complimentary copy of this book!

This book will be out on Sept 2nd.

Have you ever read a book that felt like a warm cozy cup of fall? That was this book for me.
I am fairly certain I have never read a book that gave me so many feelings towards fall. Fall had always been my favorite season until this year when Spring nudged it out of top spot. But this book certainly made me question that.

The way that Wilson describe Bramble Falls made me want to get in my car and book a trip for one of their many autumnal festivities.
Seriously having a fall event every weekend sounds like such a dream! And even the way she describe the area of this cozy town. It also made me excited for the fall drinks (I try to save pumpkin until at least mid September).

Okay this book! This was the exact type of book I needed to read. I had been reading either subpar or heavier theme books recently and just needed something light. I was sucked into the story pretty much right away. I felt so bad for Ellis. Her parents separation (and eventual divorce) came out of nowhere and if that wasn't bad, having to move to a new town during her senior year. That is a lot of changes all at once. Ellis had this one track goal - to go to Columbia and to work for her father's company. What she hadn't expected was forging friendships and new relationship that made her question everything that she ever wanted.

"I remember all your details, Cooper Barnett. They're my favorite thing to memorize."

I love her relationship with her cousin Sloane. She is like the sister that she never had. Sloane was so welcoming and they just instantly reconnected after not seeing one another for awhile. What also stood out in this book are the side characters. I love the friendships that Ellis developed while being there. From what the reader gathers of her life in NYC is that she only had 1 friend (Fern - who is really fabulous) and pretty much did not have any social life. Her love interest Cooper really opened her eyes up. They had a great summer 4 years ago and we learned why they stopped talking and the insecurities Cooper has towards her. Cooper is the sweetest and I felt so bad for him when things started to hit the fan with Ellis.

This appears to be part of a series and I do wonder who will be in the 2nd book. Part of me hopes that Jake gets to find love. He was such a fun character and I know she would be such a golden retriever to his love interest. And I am hoping that the love interest will be Fern.

I highly recommend this book if you want a book to put you in the fall feels with a sweet high school romance!

Thank you NetGalley for the arc

This was so so cute

Loved the found family, Sloane is my fave ever

Also it was really refreshing to see a main character who constantly made mistakes and a love interest who was actually hurt and showed his feelings

As a small towner I can say the small town portrayal was a little off at times (like no people don't find out your gossip within ten minutes) but it's not that serious so it's fine

This was so cute… very gilmore girlish and I loved Ellis as a main character. Her and Cooper were so adorable, and I loved how her always saw the best in her even when he was so angry with her. Definitely a great fall read.

Such a sweet coming of age story, a small town, fall vibes; what more could you ask for!
I was instantly transported to November, I wanted to go apple 🍎 picking, jump in some leaves 🍂 and drink my pumpkin spice latte 🎃

This book was so lighthearted and warm. Made you feel fuzzy and brought up nostalgic memories (if you watched Gilmore girls)
I absolutely adored falling like leaves by Misty Wilson.

Thank you to NetGalley and publishers for this arc. It was simply wonderful ❤️

A cozy, autumnal YA rom‑com with charm to spare. Certain points of this book were a little juvenile for me being a 30 something but I will give any Fall themed book a try. The story practically is fall in book form—apple-picking, pumpkin‑carving, festivals lit with golden foliage, and a town that feels like something straight out of Autumn. This book captures the essence of Fall in a heartwarming coming-of-age tale.

This is such a cute read and perfect for the fall time! The author did a great job at creating a cozy & fall atmosphere! I thought Ellis & Cooper were so cute together and I loved the "second chance" aspect of the book. I also loved getting to see Ellis fall back in love with the town of Bramble falls!

Definitely recommend for your next sweet & cozy fall read!!

‼️ARC REVIEW‼️

⭐️⭐️⭐️💫

This was a cute YA book that felt like living in Stars Hollow. This would be a great book for high schoolers trying to find their “perfect” future and learning how that’s not how life truly works.

4 out of 5 stars./First pov(Ellis)

Ellis never expected to move her senior year of high school but her mom moved her from the big city of Manhattan to Bramble Fall, Connecticut.
Bramble Fall has a great small town vibe but all Ellis can dream about is getting back to her life in the city. Until she runs into Cooper Barnett, who is once a best friend of hers and even was her first kiss.

When they start working on the Falling Leaves Festival, the time together might make Cooper and Ellis fall for each other.
What does Ellis truly want for her future and does it involve Cooper?

Loved it, great way to kick off the fall time.

This was the absolute sweetest fall romance. I was excited when I read it being compared to Gilmore Girls, and it did not disappoint with the small town Fall vibes. I want to live in Bramble Falls. I also adored the cast of characters. They all felt like people I would want to be friends with. The romance gave me butterflies and made me kick my feet. And the character development was beautiful.

I would say if you love Fall, Gilmore Girls, Taylor Swift, cinnamon roll male characters, and Journeys of self discovery, then this book is 1000% for you. Pick it up. You won't be disappointed.

THIS IS HOW YOU WRITE A FALL ROMANCE

I was obsessed from their first encounter! The friends/first love as kids to enemies to lovers as adult/teenagers may be a micro trope but it has my whole heart.

The friendships were perfect. The mother/daughter relationship growth...I cried when her mom said something along the lines of it was ok giving up my passion because I always had you.

Her dad is scum and I knew that almost immediately, but man later, I really hated him.

Also the small town fall vibes, perfect!

The swiftie references!!! I was giggling everytime I found a small TS tidbit.

This was a very easy and fast paced read. I cant wait for the next in the series!

Thank you to NetGalley and Simon & Schuster Children’s Publishing for a complimentary early copy of Falling Like Leaves by Misty Wilson.

Falling Like Leaves was such a sweet enjoyable read for me. During the start of the book I was a bit iffy about Ellis’s character but she grew on me quickly. When she starts getting involved in the autumn festival I knew I was going to be in for a good time. I loved the way she went about the festival activities and the way she interacted with the small town people of Bramble Falls. There are so many cute and wholesome scenes with her interacting with the people or just her friend group in general that it already had me thinking that Bramble Falls has been her home since the beginning.

When Cooper was introduced I liked him immediately, this small town golden boy is so loveable. I was instantly routining for the romance between the two, the tension with them is so good and I couldn’t wait to figure what happened or where things were going to go. They also have so many cute scenes together that made me laugh and smile but they also scenes that felt really raw and heartfelt. These two both went through a lot of emotions regarding each other and it shows. I’m happy with how things had wrapped up for them. Cooper and Ellis are an amazing couple, I think they are both good for each other.

Aside from the romance another big part about this book is the fall atmosphere. Bramble Falls made an amazing cozy fall setting, I loved the little descriptive bits regarding the town scenery and the festival. The autumn festival events were so fun to read about not only because of the scenery but because of the characters and the people of Bramble Falls. The friendships in Falling Like Leaves are nice as well, I feel like the book is equally atmospheric and romantic but it does a good job of adding drama and tension between characters too.

The messaging of the book especially towards the end surprised me but in a good way. This book ended up being a bit more than just a cozy romance fall read, it’s about learning to be yourself, being more bold, living in the moment, taking risk, and much more. Overall I’m very pleased with this book! I didn’t know until now that fall atmospheres or small towns would become a favorite of mine but i’m excited to read more like this!

Falling Like Leaves was the cutest, coziest fall romance I've read in a long time. Although geared toward a YA audience, Wilson's writing can be enjoyed by older ages as well. Bramble Falls is the perfect small-town destination that goes all out for fall. The vibes are cozy and the harvest spice lattes are hot. The setting alone is a fantastic reason to read this book, but the character's and their stories really put the cheery on top.

NYC teen Ellis, a senior in high school, has her whole life planned out. She is determined to follow in her journalist father's footsteps and attending Columbia is her ultimate goal. Just days before the start of her anticipated senior year, her parents turn her world upside down. They are separating, and her mother is taking Ellis with her to stay at her aunt's in small-town, middle of nowhere, Bramble Falls, Connecticut. Ellis has no choice but to suck it up and go while everything she's ever known about her parents starts to crumble around her.

Her aunt and cousin welcome Ellis and her mother with open arms and excitement. They have arrived just before the start of the fall season which ushers in the months long Falling Leaves Festival, a well-known tradition of Bramble Falls. Ellis is not only forced into a new town and a new school, but now she is being forced to help with a festival she wants nothing to do with. Especially when she realizes it means being around her summer flame from years ago, Cooper Barnett. Cooper is all grown up and as handsome as ever, but it seems that he's just as displeased with Ellie being in Bramble Falls as she is.

Readers follow Ellis over the fall season in Bramble Falls, where she experiences classic teen moments, love, heartbreak, and most important of all, the Falling Leaves Festival. This will be a big hit for YA audiences and beyond.
