This is a book that gets better the further you get into it. For me, it started out slow but I think around the halfway mark is when I started to enjoy it. The premise is so nice and lighthearted with an abundance of small town fall vibes and all the cute little fall-themed events. I guess I just wished a little more focus was given to Ellis’ internal conflict. How she wants to please her dad but also how she realizes his plan for her isn’t the plan she wants for her own life. I would’ve loved to see her working on fashion designs more often. It was there but it felt glossed over in favor of her relationship with Cooper. But if you’re looking for a light, fluffy YA romance that goes heavy on the cheesiness but will make you smile, then this is great.
Thanks to NetGalley and Simon & Schuster for the e-arc in exchange for my honest review!

Overall, this book is relatively good. It has the potential to be great, but some plot points just weren't my cup of tea. One of the main characters seems a little toxic because he gives his girlfriend an ultimatum over something they had already discussed and decided on, so that was a little concerning. Also, this book seems very politically correct, which when mentioned very frequently throughout a book sometimes detracts from the storyline and romanticism of the book for the reader. Again, not terrible by any stretch, just not for me. However, I loved all the creative fall-themed events! Very cute, very Stars Hollow.

First Fall Read of the season! 🧡🍎🍁
This was a perfect book to get into the Fall mood. It had the charming small town feel that gave Gilmore Girls vibes and allllll the Fall festive activities. Set in Bramble Falls, Connecticut, this is YA romance follows high school Seniors Ellis and Cooper. Ellis is a big city girl forced to spend her Senior year in Bramble Falls and is NOT happy about it, but she ends up falling in love with the cozy little town and a cute boy. Have this one ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This one comes out on September 2nd!
Thank you @netgalley and @simonandschuster for the ARC!

Believe the hype surrounding this book! I devoured this story and loved every page! This book is perfect for fall. If you're looking for a comfort read then look no further, this story is like a warm hug full of loving characters and a sweet coming-of-age story.
I know some readers might have a hard time relating to the MC, but give her a chance because her character growth is great, and remember that these are teens learning what growing up is all about.
Highly recommend! Definitely gives 'Gilmore Girls' vibes for readers who love a great small town story. <3

As an adult reading a teen romance I thought this was a very adorable book. I would highly recommend this for anyone, especially teens. It's a clean romance. So nothing goes beyond a make out session. It does contain explicit language but it's not heavy throughout the book. The vibe of the book is fall in a small town like Stars Hollow. Very heavy on the Gilmore Girls inspiration and I love it! To all the swifties out there, Taylor Swift is mentioned many times throughout the book. If you like Gilmore Girls, Taylor Swift, fall, and a girl leaves the big city to go to a small town and fall for her summer crush trope then I would recommend you grab this read as soon as it comes out!

Misty Wilson’s Falling Like Leaves is the perfect fall YA contemporary romance. These characters and cute small town immediately draw you in, and you cannot help but wish to be a part of the world that Wilson created - from the close group of friends to the fall festival events that happen throughout the book. Additionally, Wilson writes such a relatable main character, Ellis, who goes through a journey of self-discovery and managing outside expectations in such a pivotal time of a teenage life. If you want a book with great characters and that will immediately put you in a fall mood, look no further, and it will be one that you cannot out down (Believe me, I know as I read this in less than 24 hours).
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for an eARC of this book.

Ok this book was sooo fun! I loved every minute of it. Misty Wilson is so good at describing places and settings, i felt like i was in Bramble Falls with Ellis and her friends! This book had THE best fall vibes and was so gilmore girls coded! They had the funnest fall events and i was honestly sad i couldn’t go. I loved the relationship that Ellis had with Sloan and Fern and all the friends she met. This book had me wanting to try Cooper’s baking soooo bad, especially his cookies!! This was the perfect fall read!!

I ended up DNFing very early on. While the vibes were intriguing and the cover is GORGEOUS, the writing was a bit too stale for me. The dialogue was clunky which very quickly turns me off. I immediately didn’t buy into the MC being Gen Z, which (the author didn’t imply at any point, but) would be a modern teenager of today, aka who I would be recommending this book to as a librarian. The plot sounds GREAT (formulaic Hallmark but FUN), but I think this could have been worked on longer and made more digestible. I probably could have went into it guessing it would be more on the sterile side with the comps given. Honestly, my mistake here! Might be wonderful, but not for me.

Ellis & Cooper
"I just think you're the best thing to ever happen to me, cooper barnett' 'Likewise Mitchell"
This book is the ultimate fall book and I fell in love with it!!! The description and scenery made me feel as if I was there and it was so fun being taken along on all the fall festivities. I also loved the dynamic of cooper and ellis, especially Ellis's personality and I felt I could relate to her in different ways. I love the dynamic of the book and could have kept reading. For any fall lovers this is the book for you!!! Also obsessed with the found family in this book.

Thank you, NetGalley and the publisher for an opportunity to read Falling Like Leaves.
This one was great! I loved the characters. I loved the scene. I loved the Romance. It was very YA, but it didn’t break it. You can read this as an adult and still enjoy.
Would definitely recommend and read the author again.

This was the cutest fall read ever!! In this book we are following Ellis’ journey after being forced to move from NYC her senior year of high school to Bramble Falls. Basically, her mom has “ruined” her life right. After she arrives to Bramble Falls, Ellis runs into Cooper, aka her first kiss back in middle school! What comes after is the best fall filled, high school angsty romance that was just so fun to read. I was cheering for everyone, and crying with everyone and wishing everyone just the best. I would 10000% recommend this book if you are looking for a sweet cozy fall romance to read this season!
Thank you to Simon and Schuster Children’s Publishing and NetGalley for this eARC!

I loved this YA fall teen romance! It was so, so cute and fun. I loved Ellis's character development, and seeing her focus on her goals rather than her dad's was great. Cooper is the sweetest guy, and even though they had a rocky reunion, Cooper got over his heartbreak about losing touch with Ellis, and their relationship was adorable. I really enjoyed reading about them together. I loved how honest Cooper was with Ellis about everything. Also, it was so cute how they connected when they were 14 and brought back together at 18. Slug, Jake, Sloan, and Fern were all great side characters and great friends to Ellis. So, if you are looking for a fun, fall, YA read, this is your sign to get this book and read it.

This book was actually so unbelievably cute. It was so wholesome and gave off the most fall-ish, stars hallow-ish vibes. Ellis and Cooper made me cringe way less than some of the book couples i’ve been reading about lately which is fantastic. Jake is an icon. I definitely recommend.

OMG! I don’t know if I was desperate for a 5 star read, or if this book was really all that I think it was, but wow! I loved the vibes of this, and Gilmore Girls x TSITP is really the best way to describe this. Cooper is the sweetest, and even though Ellis made some questionable mistakes, I loved her anyways. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

This was such a cute cozy read. I absolutely loved the town and the Gilmore Girls town vibe that it gave me. The characters were beautifully written and I loved the growth between Ellis and her mom and watching their relationship flourish along with Ellis’s bond with her cousin was perfect. I also loved the side characters and how they were written well enough to add to the story but not overpower anything. I saw myself in Ellis and this is officially a yearly Fall read for me!!!

This book was phenomenal. This book touched my heart more than I thought it could. I felt EVERYTHING during this book, I felt so much and truly loved every second of this book. I laughed, I cried, I giggled. The coziness was everything I needed to start fall. This book just made me feel so warm inside and I think every reader should read this book because truly it was a 6 star read. ( p.s the author truly is so kind and amazing and I cannot wait to read all of books and hopefully upcoming books )

When Ellis’s plans for her senior year of high school come to an abrupt and unexpected halt, she must find a way to adapt to her changing circumstances. Transitioning from New York City to Bramble Falls, Connecticut, proves to be anything but smooth sailing. Fortunately, Ellis is surrounded by both new and old friends, as well as a plethora of fall activities to boot. This cozy and seasonal read, filled with Swiftie references, fulfills all your small-town fall dreams. Bramble Falls is a place I would love to visit.
Thank you to Misty Wilson, Simon & Schuster, and NetGalley for the opportunity to read an advanced copy of this book!

this YA Romance novel is so sweet! Believable characters, strong character development, and it takes place in swoon-worthy Brambles Falls, Connecticut! I can’t wait to add this to our school library/my classroom! Messages of staying true to yourself which is illustrated through intergenerational characters. This was a quick, cozy read for me and will be perfect for this fall! Highly recommend!!!

Falling Like Leaves by Misty Wilson is my first official fall book for the year and it has the perfect cozy fall vibes! Wisconsin has been coming in strong with the Fall-Is-Coming temperatures, for which I am not actually a fan. This book, however, was great to usher in the season! The story of Ellis and Cooper was truly delightful. When I realized it was a YA romance, I was a bit concerned because mostly I’ve been over those. This book is not like the others!! The characters were a refreshing combination of maturity and innocence. The story starts in NYC but quickly moves to Connecticut for the fall season. We watch as Misty maneuvers her feelings of being forced to leave the city with her focused plans and goals, to learning who she really is and what dreams she might actually pursue.
.
The Brambles Falls community is small and charming and the people are both accepting and caring. I notice this is #1 in a series and I’m looking forward to revisiting this village for future events! There were plenty of additional characters that I’d love to read more about.
.
I recommend this book for romance lovers. There are some sweet kisses shared, but only that. It’s a nice chaste book for all my reader friends who prefer that. Grab yourself a PSL or a mug of hot cider and cozy up with this book!

Thank you to NetGalley and Simon & Schuster Children's Publishing for the ARC I received in exchange for my honest opinion.
