This was a cute story about a girl that is suddenly moved from NYC to a small town by her mother after her parents separate. Ellis is starting her senior year in high school and has had her life all planned out when everything changes. Its a sweet story about her rekindling some old relationships and starting new ones all while coming to terms that maybe what she wants for her future is actually something different.

I am so grateful that I received an arc of this book and ah what can I even say? This book was INCREDIBLE!! I had so much fun reading it. The fall vibes were so warm and cozy. It reminded me of Gilmore Girls with the autumn festivities and the small town vibe! And did I mention the mmc (Cooper) works in a FREAKING CAT CAFE!! And he bakes!! A BAKER?! If that hasn’t convinced you to read I don’t know what will. The fmc (Ellis) has an amazing character arc and reading her progression of falling in love with Bramble Falls made me fall in love too! And SHE SEWS!! Like a baker and a seamstress, name a better combo…wait you can’t! This was an amazing book that brought everything to the table (especially freshly baked cookies) and it was just such a fun and comforting read and it’s perfect if you’re trying to get that fall feeling!! 🍂 OUT SEPT 2ND!!

This was the PERFECT jump into fall story! I was hooked from the very first page. Cooper and Ellis relation ship goin down rocky paths and learning to grow from mistakes. Ellis and Sloane rebuilding their friendship from what it used to be into something better. Its giving all the perfect small town fall vibes and just made my heart feel so warm and cozy.

Ellis dreams of attending Columbia University to pursue a career in journalism and make her dad proud. But when her parents decide to take a break, she finds herself spending the season with her aunt in the charming town of Bramble Falls.

While helping out with the town’s beloved Falling Leaves Festival, Ellis unexpectedly runs into her first kiss—who's grown up into someone surprisingly handsome. As the leaves change, so does Ellis. She begins to discover more about herself and what she truly wants out of life.

Set against the cozy backdrop of crisp autumn air, golden leaves, pumpkin patches, and spiced cider, this story is a warm embrace for anyone who loves small towns and fall vibes. If you're looking for a heartwarming seasonal read, this one’s for you.

Thank you, NetGalley, for the ARC of Falling Like Leaves by Misty Wilson. My First read of Misty, and it was the cutest read.

Ellis is a senior in High School who has planned her future around her father(her hero), to go to Columbia and become a journalist who will one day run the company after her father. So when her parents sprung it on her that they were taking a break and her mother was taking her to a small town in Connecticut (Bramble Falls) to live with her aunt and cousin, it, of course, upset her and all her plans.

What she didn't expect was that the boy she had her first kiss with would have grown up and turned into a hottie and give her vibes of hate while she feels an instant attraction. Who knew!

As she begins to help volunteer for her aunt's Falling Leaves Festival and continues to run into Cooper, her old friend sparks fly. She makes friends and finds herself sewing more and having a hard time admitting that fashion is her passion, creating clothes is her passion, and not Journalism.

I loved this book so much. It was cute and festive. I wanted to drink the Harvest Spice Latte. I wanted to be a part of all the fun events the town put on. I wanted to be able to get on the roof of my house with blankets and watch the stars. It was such a cozy, fast read that I couldn't put it down.

I was a little unsure, were they or weren't they going to get together? I was sad for Ellis when she found out about her Dad, and I wish a little more had been explained on that front in the end. But it was a great read, and I would reread it.

Ellis and Cooper were a dream to read about, and all the side characters, too, really brought it home for me.

Falling Like Leaves is my first book by Misty Wilson and I felt absolutely transported to autumn in Bramble Falls, Connecticut. Ellis was a bit hard to like at first. She comes off as extremely uptight, and uber obsessed with her high end wardrobe and going to Columbia College in NY City. She’s a daddy’s girl who wants to follow in his footsteps but unfortunately her parents separate and she temporarily moves to her mom’s small home town. . Ellis has a history there with Cooper, a fun summer and a first kiss being the last time they saw each other but he’s not as happy to see her as she is him and the back and forth dance starts. I had fun in Bramble Falls. The friends Ellis makes, and her cousin made for great side character conversations and they helped move things along. Very sweet first love story, spice is non existent but honestly didnt notice, I was so involved with the goings on it didn’t seem like anything was missing.

NetGalley gave me a copy of this ARC, I’m leaving my review voluntarily. Will definitely read author again.

Bramble Falls is where Ellis and her mom would go for the summer growing up to spend time with her aunt and cousin but When Ellis’s parents sit her down to tell her she would be going back to Bramble Falls to stay with her aunt for a while her world feels like it’s falling apart. This time is different. This time it’s the beginning of her senior year of high school and she’s leaving her friends, internship and big city living all behind. Once she arrives, the little town that gives major Stars Hollow vibes welcomes her and she’s caught up in her new school, new friends and the town festivities BUT she’s also caught up in the major glowup her friend Cooper has gone through since the last time she saw him. This was such a fun read! Great YA romance that touches on the subject of parental betrayal, friendships and opening your heart and mind to new changes, opportunities and what the future can hold if you just allow yourself follow your heart.

Thank you to #netgalley for the ARC and opportunity to read and review! I really enjoyed this book!

Super cute fall romance! I would recommend it for anyone looking for a low-spice, second-chance, small-town romance.

I wanted to rate this story higher because I do think that many YA romance readers will enjoy this one, especially during the fall season coming up! However, the story was a little too simplistic for my taste, but that is simply a matter of personal preference. Aside from that, the story itself is wonderfully written, the characters are easy to fall in love with, and the plot line is enjoyable.

The setting of the novel was perfect, and the main protagonist's situation is so relatable to a YA audience.

Thank you #SimonTeen for the eARC!!

I absolutely love how this gave me all the fall vibes I needed! Ellis is a rising high school senior whose world gets turned upside down. Her and her mother are moving to Bramble Falls for a couple of months while her dad stays behind in NYC. Unsure of her parents are getting a divorce, she feels like her dreams are being put on hold. She’s a go getter and pushes for her goals of acceptance into Columbia University for Journalism.

Bramble Falls is the definition of Fall. A small town who gets all its main attraction during the season. It’s quaint, charming, and beautiful. Ellis feels she’s bigger than this little town — she’s living with her mom, Auntie Naomi, and cousin Sloane. Over time, Ellis gets into the swing of Bramble Falls and reconnects with Cooper. A summer friend and first crush who haven’t seen each other since they were in middle school.

This was an absolute swoon-worthy YA romance! It was hard to put down and so worth it. Sometimes you have to go through the hard times to get through the hard times. Ellis learned that lesson a couple of times throughout this story. I really hope to see more of Misty Wilson because this was a fantastic seasonal read!!

Super quick, super cute nostalgic high school romance. Can you find true love when your fourteen or will love fade with time and ambitions. How many times can one dig themself in a hole before they realize what they attempt to throw away?? Just a small town boy who dreams of being a baker and a city girl who dreams of following in her daddy’s steps. If you love the notebook Allie and Noah’s love story, you’ll love this book too.

Falling Like Leaves had the highest Fall Vibe Quotient of any of the new fall romance books I've read so far. And if you're looking for a fall romance that's more sweet than spicy, this YA pick is perfect for you! Ellis is super annoyed when her mom suddenly moves them from NYC to Bramble Falls, but at the local cat cafe (!) she runs into Cooper, and old friend who suddenly got hot ... and hates her. Luckily she has Jake, a funny football player, to keep her company. Want a YA Gilmore Girls? This is it!

Thank you @simonandschuster and @netgalley for giving me the opportunity to read this one early! 🫶

If this book doesn’t get turned into a movie I’m going to go on strike - this one is truly that good. This book was absolutely adorable and hit me with all of the feels. The storytelling was absolutely beautiful and so vivid, I really felt like I was in Bramble Falls. The fall vibes, events, and all the little details, really helped set the scene. For me, a great book keeps you thinking about it well after you’ve finished it and this one does just that. Not to mention it definitely put me in the mood to celebrate the fall season. 🍁🍂

I always focus a bit of my reviews on the characters but this one really deserves it. I loved all of the characters (except Ellis’s dad 🤣) but they truly made this book special. The authors writing and character voices really shined through. I loved reading about Elis who was a flawed high schooler trying to learn about herself. Cooper, Sloane, Jake and Fern all were amazing friends who made me wish I had met people like them in high school. 🤣 These fictional characters are the ones that 30 years from now will still be friends and I hope one day we can get a book showing that. ❤️

Super cute fall read! I highly recommend if you want a cute, fluffy, fall read! The drive between the FMC & MMC was cute in a juvenile way (they are in high school) I’m curious to continue reading about the rest of this serious, to see where the story goes!

this was such a cute & fun fall themed romance, ellis the FMC finds her life is thrown upside down when her mom announces that they will be moving from NYC to Connecticut

ellis had been to Bramble Falls before & had the summer of her life where she fell in love with her best friend cooper so imagine her surprise when he keeps popping up in her new life away from the city, only they aren’t friends anymore & she doesn’t know where things stand

this book had so many fun fall themed events, has me wanting to try a new coffee order, and is making me so excited for fall! overall it was a cute book but does have a 3rd act break up that to me seemed a bit unnecessary but overall cute & perfect for a fall reading day

Falling Like Leaves is such a cozy, feel-good YA romance that will warm your heart with the cutest HEA. I absolutely loved the fall setting in this one, I could really imagine Bramble Falls and all the fun and quirky activities taking place.

The characters are very relatable, especially Ellis, her life is turned upside down when she's forced to move away from her life in New York with her mom. And she's furious, rightfully so, she wants nothing from the small town of her childhood, that is until she sees Copper, the MMC, again after years. Her growth from a slightly spoiled teenager to a confident, kindhearted young woman is wonderful to watch.

All the characters are so funny and the conversations and playful banter are just the icing on top. I truly can't wait to see what other stories we will be getting from Bramble Falls!

I would recommend this for anyone who loves a cozy setting, playful banter and a HEA in there reading!

STOP IM ALREADY DEAD NOT THE COOKIE COSTUME

Like Rory and Dean from Gilmore Girls but jf Rory was kind of also Paris and Dean was smart.

In other words you need to read this yesterday. Small town fall festival x ambitious girl who needs to rediscover her passion x gorgeous boy next door x he falls first.

I love a man who has been obsessed for years (in a not creepy way)

Misty please let my taylor swift king be next

I'm going to be honest: this is one of my new favorite books. Even though it's still a million degrees outside and the leaves are fully green, Falling Like Leaves had me wishing summer was over and I could go pumpkin picking and drink apple cider. It also had me wishing I lived in a small town obsessed with autumn like Bramble Falls. Personally, I'll be buying it as soon as it comes out and and rereading it every year when the leaves start to change, and I recommend you do the same ;)

All right, now for the actual review:

Let's start with the plot. I absolutely adored the small town setting (in case you couldn't already tell) and I loved how the romance wasn't the entire story. Yes, there's an amazingly executed slow-burn classic high school love story, but there's also relatable difficulties with parents separating and choosing your own future. The messages Wilson weaves into the story only add on to a plot that is practically flawless, making the story that much better.

The actual writing was pretty fast-paced, making it perfect for a cozy autumn read. I devoured it in a couple of hours and spent the rest of the day playing Red (Taylor's Version) on repeat. I also loved how the characters spoke (and in Ellis's case, thought) with words that you can totally imagine coming out of high schoolers' mouths. Some people might have been bothered by the pop culture references, but personally, I thought it made it all the sweeter.

And on that note, it's time for the characters!

Ellis is so easy to connect to, and my heart went out to her when she was stressing about college, her future, her parents, and a million and one other things. The writing was so well-executed that, instead of being annoyed when Ellis complained, I was whining right along with her. Ellis's journey to self-discovery really helped make the book as good as it is.

Cooper is the PICTURE PERFECT small town love interest, and he's got the baking skills, sweet gifts (no pun intended), and witty banter with Ellis to prove it. I do wish we got to know him a little more, but I loved how his actions and kindness were realistic, not huge gestures that would leave a real-life high schooler shocked. Wilson also did a great job making Cooper's feelings seem realistic in the same way. What high school boy would immediately go back to being head over heels for a girl who broke his heart?

Sloane was probably my favorite character. She was always there for her cousin, and always knew when to talk or when to back off and give Ellis space. Also, props to her for welcoming Ellis and her mom with open arms when they just moved into her (supposedly) already-small space. She made me so glad my cousin and I have an age difference like her and Ellis.

Jake. Ohhhhhhhh Jake. Wilson absolutely NAILED the golden-retriever energy with him. From helping Ellie with her books to bringing the party, Jake's pretty much the stereotypical football captain but with a big heart.

I loved how Fern was always there for Ellis, even when she may have had other things to do. It just goes to show that best friends don't need to see each other constantly to support each other.

Gotta love Dorothy. She and her "girls" are the iconic small-town old lady gossip crew.

Falling Like Leaves is a must-read if you're into cute YA romances or city-girl-goes-small-town vibes. I absolutely adored this book, and it has just enough autumn-themed romance mixed with personal struggles to make even those who say they hate fall smile. Ellis will have you rooting for her until the end, and I don't think it's possible to read this book and not wish it was autumn.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC in exchange for my honest opinions.

This book is PERFECT for fall!!

I LOVED this book! It’s fast paced and you won’t want to put it down! (I finished it in two days!!) The town is very stars hollow vibes and perfect for fans of Gilmore Girls. It’s second chance romance with a tiny bit of enemies to lovers! All of the characters had their moments where they would be kind of annoying but overall they were fine. (I LOVE Jake!) The themes were handled very well and I really loved how everything played out. I would 10/10 recommend and will definitely be getting a physical copy when it comes out on September 2nd!! (Because the cover is SO CUTE!!)

This was an adorable and perfectly seasonal YA romance. You really feel for Ellis as her life seems to be ripped away from her, when her parents separate and her mom takes her to her hometown. Also her dad is a total ass and how can you just ignore your daughter like that?! However, the town is INSANELY ADORABLE. The most perfect fall small town; it made me so ready for autumn to hit. There are fun new friends and cute sparks of romance. Coop was such a sweetheart and I enjoyed their chemistry, which felt just right for seniors in high school. It was a sweet and easy read to start the week!
