"The truth may not be told. Here is an acceptable lie."

An interesting prologue, to say the least. I'm excited to finally get started on this one!

Medieval world to fantasy and a clash between two spieces - humans and dragons. Seraphine, the main character is very unique character. From the prologue we can see she was no average infant. The prologue begins with the traumatic birth in which Seraphina's mother dies and father, trying to hide the truth from everyone, moves with his daugter to capital.

"Seraphina" is a unique read. Dragons fold themselves in human forms and co-exist with humans. The treaty's anniversary between the spieces draws near, when the Prince Rufus is killed, in very dragon like way. The tensions are very high. Great idea for a plot, that reminds the reader of famous books such as "Eragon" .

Politcal tension on the edge of possible war, and big secret that Seraphina tries to hide from the world, that could put her life in danger are very promising for a debut YA fantasy.

I'd heard decent things about this book and I'm glad that I found a sample to try. Unfortunately, this wasn't for me. The writing style was very confusing. The first person POV didn't read very clear to me and it was hard to follow what was being seen and what was happening. Some of the dialogue was okay and while the concept seems good on the synopsis, I won't read the full length novel.

This was amazing, I can't wait until I get the chance to read the full book.

Wonderful book for YA readers, musicians, and others who don't fit in--and a cautionary tale/tail for our new political situation.

The author's writing style is excellent.

The Prologue was interesting and engaging. However, the opening chapter was overly complex. Despite this, it was a fascinating world the author was describing and refreshingly original.

It would require a reader with perseverance to continue reading. As this is aimed at the YA market and the female readers within it, I hope there has been a good response for this talented writer.
