The I Can Read Food Group books by Jory John are perfect for transitioning readers ready for a short story with engaging characters. The fact that they are available as an audio collection is just icing on the cake. I love that striving readers can listen as they read and understand the printed word.

I appreciate that this version does have some fun sound effects, but not overly so like in the picture book audiobooks. The author speaks slowly and clearly. My boys are ages 6 1/2 and 7 1/2 and they both enjoy listening to this as they fall asleep. The stories don't have any surprising or loud sounds, and make a soothing bedtime story. However, they also enjoy listening to these in the car as well.

The kids in my library love this author. This will be a must buy for us. The narrator was wonderful.

This audiobook would be a great one to listen to on the way to school, or to listen to while following along with the physical book.
