Jessica knows how to write them! I devoured this in less than 24 hours. I was engrossed. I was appalled. I was surprised. I was shocked. I was on the edge of my seat. This was a wild ride full of dark and twisted characters. It was so well written and I already want to read it again for the first time. If you enjoy a good thriller with psychological elements this is one for you.

She tells Acelynn what happened and ask if she can go back to Savanna with her. Acelynn immediately tells that is an excellent idea. Before they leave Chicago Marchetti mistaken Acelynn for Charlotte and kills her.
Charlotte knows she has to assume her sister’s identity, and heads to her home in Savannah. She is immediately thrown into the glamorous lifestyle but she soon realizes that a lifestyle she was jealous and one she envied but soon finds is actually darker than she ever thought.

There is also another story going on regarding ten year old girl named Pedal. She is evil but very clever. Knew she was connected to the main story. Kept me guessing and I was suspicious but was wrong!

Definitely a Dark, Twisty Psychological Thriller which I really wasn’t expecting! There is a serial killer, murders, and plenty of deception; I could NOT put it down!!!

My first my author, Jessica R. Patch! I love Psychological Thrillers and am sooo excited to find this great author who can write an Outstanding Thriller that has no profanity no graphic sex. I definitely am looking forward to another!

I cannot believe I actually loved listening to this book with some of the sickest and most evil characters I have ever encountered. And the twists – apparently I was allowed to figure out some of the twists by the extremely clever way the book was written only to find out that they were really not the ultimate twist. And then I listened to the epilogue. The Other Sister is definitely a roller coaster ride full of darkness and then a thin glimmer of light. I had no idea it was listed as Christian Fiction, and I am totally confused about that label. But I am glad I didn’t know because if I had I would never have picked it up.

I grabbed this book from this author expecting it to be a romantic suspense. When I found out it was going to be a psychological thriller, I was a little wary but I’ve greatly enjoyed other books by this author.

A lot of this definitely turned my stomach a bit. Playing up the inherent evil in all of us but starting with someone at the age of a toddler was not a good feeling. I’ve always been fascinated with the psychology on identical twins separated at birth and how they often are mirror copies of each other in looks and life and loves. This is definitely NOT that.

This is definitely a psychological thriller. And one that deals with a ton of darkness and evil on multiple different levels. I’ve read books from her before that kind of flirt with the line, but this one feels like it crossed fully over. I heard that the faith element would be more toned down, but quite honestly, it was really nonexistent. I think I’ve read more faith elements contained in secular mainstream thrillers than this one. This was a mainstream psychological thriller. It was clean, without the swearing and explicit content and gore, but it read like a mainstream thriller.

I rounded this book up to a four, because the last section of the book had a lot of twists and turns that upped my rating and review of it. However, I would not pick up another one like this again. It would have rated higher as a pure mainstream thriller but I was expecting more from the Love Inspired line. The whole evil in all of us is a true idea, but I felt this was lacking the explicit Light that was needed to balance that, and I felt like the lack of that explicit Light – faith – was a glaring issue and made the book fall short of what it could’ve been had faith been a prominent part of it. 3.5 stars rounded up to 4.

I loved this audiobook! The story was fast-paced and a roller-coaster of twists and turns. The narrator excelled at capturing each character's unique traits and flaws.

Man this book!!!!! It had like twist after twist. And I mean ones I didn’t see coming and that’s saying something with how many domestic thrillers I read! It did a great job giving you bits about the past making you wonder who the heck this could be about and having you racing towards the end to find out! I also loved we got a little love story thrown in there and that always makes my romantic butt happy hehehhehe. But seriously great thriller and I need more from this author! If you love Jeneva rose, Greer Hendricks, or Frieda McFadden this book is for you!!!!! Thanks to NetGalley and Harlequin for giving me a chance to read this early!!!!

Charlotte dreamed of a different life. After discovering she had a twin sister and experiencing a few tragic twists, she got her wish and stepped into a new existence.
There are a lot of twists and turns in this book, and it was really hard to guess where the story was taking me next. I was hooked from the first page and trying to figure out which unlikeable characters were responsible for the chaos kept me intrigued.
This was a fast-paced book with juicy twists, gut knotting suspense, and the most thrilling chills.

I had the opportunity to listen to an advance copy of this audiobook from NetGalley and the publisher. Initially hesitant upon realizing it was categorized as Christian fiction—a genre I don’t typically gravitate towards—I was pleasantly surprised by the subtlety of its religious elements. Beyond mentions of a cross necklace and instances of prayer, the narrative focuses more on delivering a suspenseful and twist-laden plot than on overt spiritual messaging.

The story itself is a crafty and twisty psychological thriller that was actually pretty enjoyable. The narrator did a fine job of creating a dramatic story with her style, and the author provided just enough mystery to keep me engaged. I think fans of Freida McFadden or Colleen Hoover will enjoy this twisty, fun, popcorn thriller. 3.5 Stars

Dark and twisted, with a multitude of deeply flawed characters, this one kept me guessing until the very end. There were so many layers to each character, it was impossible to predict who the real villains were. Also, the "Then" chapters were intriguing but also confusing as I did not realize they were journal entries at first, and I spent the entire time trying to figure out who Petal was. The narrator of the audio version did a decent job. While I appreciate the effort to build suspense by modulating her voice, at times it was painful--sometimes her voice was breathy and quiet, so I would have to turn it up, but then she would almost shout as something exciting was happening and I felt like my eardrums were about to burst before I could turn it back down.

I read and listened to this one and enjoyed both. The narrator did a great job matching the light vibe, and I especially loved her southern accent.

The story alternates between Charlotte’s perspective and a mysterious journal written by a woman who believes her daughter is a psychopath. These journal chapters were some of my favorites. I loved the intrigue and guessing how it related and who was who.

Acelynn’s wealthy, awful family and friends were fun to read about, but her internal musings sometimes slowed the story down. Some of the reflections felt repetitive, and I found myself wanting more action, less thoughts.

The ending sped up and there were so many twists I didn’t see coming which was fun, and I really enjoyed the final scene!

The Other Sister is a fascinating tale of family secrets, betrayal, trauma, manipulation and the desire to start over. This psychological thriller has twists and turns I couldn’t predict and kept me engaged until the final reveal. Most of the characters are unlikable, however there are a few with redeemable qualities.

This is my first book by Jessica R. Patch and I look forward to reading her other books. Romy Evans did an excellent job with the narration, especially the different accents.

When Charlottee Kane discovers she has a twin sister, Acelynn Benedict, in the wake of their biological mother's passing, she's immediately intrigued. To Charlottee's surprise Acelynn- a well known Savannah socialite- is immediately interested in meeting and makes the trip to Chicago to facilitate it. Unfortunately, the two sisters quickly learn there's a lot more to their story than they've been told and Charlotte gets pulled into Acelynn's high society life in ways she never imagined and doesn't like.

I absolutely devoured this book. I love a good mistaken/stolen/misrepresented identity book but they tend to be very unbelievable and almost never work as well as I hope. This one however was very grounded, giving little references to slight issues that might tip people off and acknowledging that people can't just seamlessly pretend to be something or someone they're not, while also not doing anything so egregious that they couldn't possibly avoid being caught. I also loved the dimension of the story with Pearl and loved that whole thing gave the story so much depth and didn't make it super confusing. It was just really well done in a way that most books in this vein can't pull off. It also managed Additionally, the pacing was excellent, characters were good, just overall a really entertaining story.

I am definitely looking forward to more from this author!

What a baffling and mind blowing book! So much I wasn’t expecting. This was a great audiobook. No one is who they seem by the end. Tons of twists and surprises. I loved it. So many surprises at the end that left my mouth gaping open. Creative plot from the author and all of the wow moments fit together by the end.
Once you start listening it’s hard to put this one down!

After a tragedy, Charlotte assumes her sister's identity, only to uncover dark secrets and realize that no one in Acelynn's life is who they seem to be. Charlotte wants to escape this dangerous situation, but revealing the truth would mean returning to her old, troubled life.

I am still reeling from the whirlwind of emotions this book has left me with! This is the third book I have read this month centered around twins, and the plot twists just keep getting more intricate. The rollercoaster ride of this book took me by surprise, as I found myself unable to predict the ending despite my best efforts.

Once again, we are thrust into the world of identical twins assuming each other's identities with seemingly little consequence...or so it seems. We follow the lives of Charlotte and Acelyn, both with their own unique set of side characters that are easily distinguishable. Most of these characters were quite unlikable, adding to the suspense and mystery of the story. It may seem simple for twins to switch lives, but the reality is far more complex, as even identical twins have distinct personalities. The plot was well-crafted, keeping me on the edge of my seat until the very end.

I was fortunate enough to experience this story through both an audiobook and an eBook, providing me with a dual perspective. The narrator did an excellent job of bringing the story to life, further immersing me in the narrative. I found myself completely engrossed in the story, struggling to pause or walk away when necessary.

If you enjoy delving into the dark and twisted world of twin dynamics, filled with suspense and guessing games, then this book is a must-read for you.

The Other Sister is a gripping psychological thriller that had my head constantly spinning. I was absolutely hooked right from the start. There were twists upon twists that kept me engaged. The suspense in this book is high and it never lets up.

The characters are very well written and described. They mostly all have an agenda and I loved it. There are some redeemable characters thrown in so that really leveled it out. The plot was so intricately constructed. The ending was shocking and the twists were unguessable. I don't want to give too much away, buckle up and enjoy the ride!

Overall, this was a great psychological thriller. It kept me on my toes throughout the entirety of it and it ended with a shocking conclusion.

🎧 The narration by Romy Evans was great. She set the perfect tone to the story. Kept the emotions on high and the suspense on full blast. I highly enjoyed the audio.

Acelynn is living a very different life full of rich privilege and a successful career, compared to Charlotte trying to make ends meet and living paycheck to paycheck

Some religion/ faith themes, twists and turns throughout the way and second guessing what is real and what is imagined.

Narration was expressive and excellent ! I got a little lost between past and present with the audiobook and what characters belonged in what setting. Overall, enjoyed the book.

I did figure out the big twist early on in the book, but this did not spoil the book for me because the author was able to add some doubts to my theory, which kept me engaged and questioning throughout. So due to that, I would highly recommend this book.
