This was such a fun manga to read. And the art style is amazing. The characters were also very interesting. However, I felt like the story was a bit stagnant.

Thank you, NetGalley & Kodansha Comics for access to the manga!

This was a really fun, low-stakes read. There's a festival, a school track meet, and, of course, bathhouses. The concept was interesting and made me want to go to a bathhouse for all the restorative properties.

I would love to see Sakura and Luka continue their partnership. Luka the vampire was a fantastic character, and it was nice seeing him interact in the human world & help out Sakura. It would have been beneficial to show more of Luka's kingdom and see how his personality fits as a ruler. Hopefully, there will be more of his background explored in the sequel.

Okay so thank you netgalley for the opportunity to read this comic/manga. My honest review is that if you're looking for a soft and cute BL manga, you definitely have to read this because it's short and funny and easy to read. I have to say my favourite character is the baby.

3.75/5

First of all, thanks to netgalley and Kodansha comics for sending me this in return of my honest review. I absolutely love manga and graphic novels, but this was not like the typically ones I read. However, it was super cute and funny. The illustrations were great but at times the characters looked too much a lot. I could only tell the difference in some images by the point of the ears. Secondly, I think some of the story might have gotten lost in translation. It was either worded strangely or it just seemed like parts were missing. In some areas of the story, it felt like it jumped around and left me hanging. For example: when they were doing the competitions, they hyped up the leg race and we didn't even get to see it in action. We only got to know what place they got. I would have loved to see that scene. Overall, the banter was funny, and i loved the characters. If there is ever another volume, I would love to read it.

I mean... it is pretty much exactly what I expected when I downloaded it. It is fun, cozy, and a very quick read for a night when you have nothing else to do. I like it, but I wouldn't necessarily recommend it to others unless they have very specific tastes.

This was a surprisingly cozy, silly fun time of a read! I really enjoyed following a vampire who just wants to go to a bathhouse to decompress and relax! I also thought the backstory of Sakura and his little brother was really precious and wholesome. This was just a really charming, slice of life read with some really funny moments. I definitely recommend picking this up is you need something fun and wholesome to lighten up your day!

A vampire named Luka ends up at a bathhouse and takes a liking to not only the place but also the owner's oldest son. It mainly consists of Luka interacting with various aspects of the community + the shenanigans that ensue from his appearance.

It's a cute "slice of life" type of manga with a charming cast of characters. Light-hearted, wholesome, and a bit silly---rather easy read overall. Beyond that, there's an encounter with another vampire, but stakes are otherwise pretty low. There is a BL component but it's rather light (one-sided attraction for the most part).

If I had one minor grievance, it would be that I didn’t completely connect with the way the manga portrayed the bathhouse community. I think they tried for a communal feel, but I didn't really feel all that connected. Otherwise, though, it was an enjoyable read. Certainly a nice palette cleanser after reading heavier stuff.

Much appreciation to Kodansha and NetGalley for the eARC.

A Vampire in the Bathhouse is a wholesome comedic manga with lovable characters and an incredible art style. It was really easy for me to fall in love with Sakura and Luka and gave me Spirited Away vibes with the full moon baths and the magical world. I can’t help but feel that this was meant to be longer than one volume, and would have loved a continuation of the story and world. Hoping that Izuki creates more one-off volumes in this world and continues that way.

Thanks to Kodansha and NetGalley for an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

This manga made me happy and the art was beautiful. I truly enjoyed the storyline and how the characters developed naturally. This was a nice break from other mangas because I felt the story gives a lot of context and plot to the reader. It was a joy to read. Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the arc.

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC! I enjoyed this oneshot and thought it was very entertaining and funny. It ended a little abruptly but it was still a good time!

3.5 rounded up. A cute slice of life story that ended just a bit too soon, but it's an easy comfy single volume read. I do wish we could've had one or two more chapters to even out the pacing and round out the whole story, but what we got is still nice. The art is great and the dynamics and cast is fun.

A heartwarming manga read with lots of comedic moments that had me smiling and laughing while I read. I loved our leads and I adore how they interact with each other to have such a sweet family dynamic. They're all incredibly thoughtful and caring with each other that I couldn't stop myself from reading this all in one sitting. The message that the book pushes about the beauty of humanity through the lens of demons was a cute theme for the vampire trope where co-existing with humans isn't really a common ending.

The art style is gorgeous and I loved that Luka was the dashing, charismatic vampire stereotype without tipping into full blown arrogance like I would normally see in people in his position. He was still humble and latched onto caring for Sakura and Umenosuke very quickly, despite not having a lot of experience with humans. I also loved Sakura's personality! He's sarcastic and feels realistic with how he reacts to everything going on around him, but the moments where he's caring for his brother or cooking for all of them really touched me. There's very minimal conflict and story so far, but it's a pleasant easy read and I hope to see more of this cast!!

As for the romance, it isn't overt and it's a very slow build-up, but there are definitely heartwarming moments between the two and it's obvious they care for each other. Highly recommend picking it up if you're in a reading slump!

This was a super cute, short read! I laughed a lot reading this and loved the banter between the characters. If you love heartwarming and funny reads, you would love this! There’s a lot of laughter and a lot of love between each of the characters and I would love to read more.

I received a copy of this book through NetGalley and this is my honest review.

I absolutely enjoyed myself when it came to reading each volume of “A vampire in the Bathhouse”. Every volume gave me a cozy feeling with the characters and setting. I definitely recommend reading this if your into found family, fantasy, a bit of romance and heartfelt moments between the characters! This is something to read, relax and enjoy.

A bathhouse is the last place you’d expect to find a vampire, from the first page we are shown a subversion of the typical vampire archetype. While Luka is aloof, confident, and exceedingly attractive, he is also kind and playful. This made for such a fun and cute story.

I would have liked to see more of the romance hinted at between Luka and Sakura, but hopefully that will be explored in a future installment!

Found family is a trope I will never grow tired of and this manga definitely delivered. I loved how protective Luka became of Sakura’s younger brother.

If you want a cozy, slice-of-life, fantasy with low stakes and light world building, I would definitely recommend this one!

I think this was such a sweet story. A romance in the making, but ultimately it explores the dynamic between a vampire and a disgruntled bath house employee. The younger brother dynamic was cute and provided humor to the story. I would absolutely recommend this to fans of Studio Ghibli's Spirited Away.

Thank you to the author, NetGalley, and Kodansha Comics for this ARC in exchange for my review.

This was such a fun read. I enjoyed not only the characters but the storyline as well. I think it's perfect as a palete cleanser between books. Good for those wanting a fun story with an alluded to romance in the works
