"A Vampire in the Bathhouse" was beautifully drawn. Sakura, Luka, and Yomi were stunning to look at, and I enjoyed the humor when they interacted with each other and the townspeople. My cuteness aggression for Umenosuke, the little brother, was difficult for me to manage. Ha ha ha ha. This was a light, cute slice of life.

I do think the manga was a bit light on plot. The vampire and magic angle seemed to disappear. Taken "as is," the story showed series potential (I'd love to see them visit the demon world). However, I found the pacing too fast at times. Maybe I'd chock that up to my greed for more time with the core characters. Expanding on the found family trope and adding more conflict would also help.

I'm curious to see more from this author, though.

This is a heartwarming tale of a vampire who desires a chance for a moment of relaxation and decides to try achieve this in a bathhouse that resides in the human realm called Full Moon Baths. Departing from his castle, Luka Finsternis meets Sakura and his little brother, and is inspired to stick around to explore more delights of the human realm.

This manga is perfect for a light-hearted summer-feel manga. I thoroughly enjoyed this manga because it was fun, had plenty of heartwarming moments, and had many chuckles. For example, "grilled squid" was rebranded for me as "grilled kraken". The table of contents was very creative in its design. My favorite aspect of this manga was the relationships between each of the characters. The interactions were so funny, especially the first interactions with everyone. The art was delicate and lovely. As a side note, I appreciated how the yukatas presented represented the characters - it really suited them.

One item that I would suggest is spacing out the explanations through dialog. A bit too much information was presented in the first few frames to establish the characters and describe the world, which caused an unnatural feel. I was also unsure if Luka discovered the bathhouse through a live cam? An advertisement? It was a bit unclear. However, neither of these things prevented me from continuing to enjoy this manga.

Definitely pick up this manga if you need some smiles. It was very sweet...and not just from the cotton candy bed!

Many thanks to the author/mangaka and NetGalley for allowing me access to this manga for review consideration.

Very cozy vibe. Fun story with a great setting. I love that the full story is in one volume. Just let that vampire relax.

Cute cosy fantasy about a vampire trying to find a cure for his eternal exhaustion in a bathhouse. I was expecting a bit more romance but overall enjoyed the story - thank you to the publisher and netgalley!

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with a free copy in exchange for an honest review! Vampire in the Bathhouse has a strikingly beautiful cover, the colors are incredibly eye-catching! While I went in expecting a bit more romance, the story leans more toward supernatural comedy with slice-of-life vibes. Still a fun read, just not quite the romantic BL arc I anticipated.

A super fun and quick read! I loved how low stakes and cozy the entire story feels, even with the minor conflicts sprinkled in. I can't wait to read the next volume!

The cover of this was what drew me in. I went in for a fun time but got so much more out of it. The story of Luka finding the cure for his exhaustion in the Mangetsu no Yu bathhouse reads as a cozy fantasy with so much heart and humor. I especially adored Ume and Pequeno's blossoming friendship. This one-shot hit everything I usually want from a one-shot, heart, humor, and a ridiculous smile on my face. I'm getting myself a physical copy ❤️

A fun, low stakes slice of life manga that follows a fancy pants vampire prince named Luka as he discovers the wonder of a bathhouse in the human world while chronically hungover.

He decides to drop in to check it out and just... never leaves.

Some chaos ensues as he learns his way around the human realm and the family he's attached himself to.

This cosy standalone is a paranormal tale of found family with a hint of suggested romance. The art style is immaculately drawn, with each character having their own unique style and flair.

Thank you to NetGalley, Niko Izuki, and Kodansha Comics for my free review copy.

This was a really interesting book. The artwork is stunning, and it threw me back to years ago when manga had weird concepts and was just out of the ordinary—and I loved it! The main characters were charming, and I loved how they got to know each other. And the pact—omg! This was such a rollercoaster in such a good way, and I hope there is a volume 2.

Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC!

This manga is super cozy and the perfect slice of life. I really enjoyed the character design, especially the demons, they looked great. I also loved the sweetness of the MC’s little brother and his tiny familiar. The short stories were fun and lighthearted.

There are some BL vibes here and there, though I’m not sure if that’s actually intentional.

The art is beautiful and modern, with lots of detail.

The only downside for me was that the plot felt a bit lacking, I was hoping for something a bit more engaging. But overall, it was a really cozy read.

4/5 stars.

I really enjoyed this, it was a quick and easy read. I did have a bit of a problem while reading mainly because I was in a slump but I fairly enjoyed it. I definitely will be buying the physical copy soon!

A Vampire in the Bathhouse wasn't my cup of tea. The idea is refreshing though! The manga is about vampires and bathhouses. Luka Edelmondt Finsternis is basically a noble vampire, but so tired and hungover. He decides to see what is happening in the human world and ends up in a bathhouse called Full Moon Baths. He falls in love with the place and gets to know the son of the keeper, Sakura. That's all there is to the plot, since it's mostly just people hanging around the place and of course we get another vampire there. There are some LGBTQ elements in it, but they don't go anywhere and it's just Sakura deadpanning all the time. The problem is that nothing happens in the manga except everyone goofing around. The ending is totally axed too.

The art in itself looks nice and the bath scenes are great. The baths themselves look wonderful and relaxing, which is great. A Vampire in the Bathhouse feels like an add for Japanese baths, which isn't something I was after. I'm not even sure if I was waiting for more sexy times, but mostly I just got...nothing out if this. Sadly so.

3.5 ⭐️

Okay so I went into this blind because I only requested because the art looks so nice lol. But I wasn’t expecting to like it so much. Firstly Umenosuke and Pequeño are the cutest ^_^ And wow is Luka beautiful lol, it was really him on the cover that drew me in. But this is the perfect cozy vampire manga to read when you’re nice and comfy because you’ll just fall in love with the main characters.

I absolutely loved this manga! It's so fun and heartwarming, plus all of the characters are super cute. The art is beautiful!! It has sweet, caring family vibes, with Sakura, older brother, looking after Umenosuke, his younger brother. Luka's sudden appearance in their lives brings a steady stream of magic and mayhem, and many unforgettable moments. I loved watching Luka learn about the human world and bond with the brothers. Overall, this is an extremely sweet manga and I enjoyed every bit of it! I'm looking forward to reading more by Niko Izuki!

Thank you to Kodansha and NetGalley for the eGalley to review!

This was so funny and so wholesome, yet so short. I wanted there to be more and the worst part is it felt cut off! (To be fair, it was a one-shot that evolved into a series.) I do hope Niko Izuki gives us more, because it was such a fun read.

However, if you're looking for some sort of romance, you won't find it here, honestly. It's joked about because Luka (the vampire) allegedly needs to have sex with his pact partner (Sakura) in order for his magic to be full strength, but it's mostly a brick joke and there's pretty much zero romance in the whole book. Luka drinks his blood to use his magic in the way Sakura wants and that's about it when it comes to any proximity. It also happens "on screen" once and it's a hilarious full-page panel.

Besides its humor and sweetness, it's just plain gorgeous to look at. I was admiring so many panels for how beautifully drawn the characters are. Even if you were looking for a romance, you won't end up disappointed reading it!

The art style was lovely, the characters adorable. I feel like i was queer-baited tho. Are they gay or just bros?

I didn't know I needed a little slice of life vampire manga until this one... it was so cute! I loved the art and honestly just adored every one of the characters. I am usually not a huge fan of kids in stories, but Umenosuke was adorable & I loved his friendship with Luka's familiar. All in all this was a cute little read. My one hang up was that I was hoping for a little more romantic connection between Luka and Sakura. I mean needing sex to balance Luka's mana was mentioned several times but we didn't even get a kiss. But idk, maybe I just read too much smut haha.

A Vampire in the Bathhouse is such a cute, sweet, and hilarious manga filled with unserious hijinks and a surprising amount of warmth. Luka is a pompous, arrogant, but entirely thoughtful and curious vampire who teleports straight into the middle of no-nonsense, kind Sakura's bathhouse! Completely enchanted with the healing properties of the hot spring and the irreplaceable bond of the people who frequent it, Luka decides to stay—causing much-needed havoc in Sakura's life.

The supporting cast of characters, including Sakura's adorable baby brother Umenosuke and a seductive demon king of the night, make each of the chapters sparkle with humor, wit, and heartwarming tenderness. The art style is detailed and charming and fully enhances all of the funny expressions and situations they find themselves in.

It's a brilliant blend of comedy and slice of life, and my only qualm is that I wish there was more of it!

I loved "A Vampire in the Bathhouse" so much! This was such a breath of fresh air with both hilarious comedic moments as well as well placed heartfelt scenes that really tie the whole story together. I loved Luka and all the other characters, but Sakura really stole the show for me, his reactions to the ridiculousness around him were sometimes funnier than the situations. Overall this was such a fun read and will be a feel good read for me in the future.
