This is a good followup to the first Dark Obsession book. I enjoy Eden's romantic suspense, and this one is a good example of what she can do. I enjoyed the characters and was kept interested by the storyline. There was a good balance of romance and suspense, and the author has me waiting to see what will come next.

Sophie and Lex when I wanted someone else's story. But that's ok; I can be patient. It's easy to be when Cynthia Eden delivers a suspense story like this. I am going to lead off with the best thing ever about this story: I never guessed the bad guy. I mean wow! I totally had the bad guy pegged in book one of this series but this time, no way, not a chance. Serious kudos for that.

Yes, Sophie and Lex are insta-lust-y. Yes, there is way more action than introspection. Yes, there is no strong character arc for either Lex or Sophie. And yes, that's all ok. This is a dark and dangerous book and it was a roller coaster of epic proportions.

I didn't always like Sophie or her decisions. Lex sometimes felt more stalker-ish than her stalker. That was ok, because Sophie liked it and wanted more. I loved Ethan here just as much as I did in the first book. I loathed his brother. I worried and fretted and struggled because that's what was served up.

I have no idea why it took me so long to get to this book because really, I knew I'd like it. Sure, it was a bit hard for me to get into with the long time between books, but by the end, I was raring to go for the next book.
