Title: The Perfect Divorce
Author: Jeneva Rose
Pub Date: April 15, 2025
I listened to THE PERFECT MARRIAGE and THE PERFECT DIVORCE back-to-back for the ultimate listening experience!
It was my first time reading THE PERFECT MARRIAGE, and while I enjoyed it, I think I liked THE PERFECT DIVORCE even more!
I don't think it's 100% necessary to read one to read the other, but it definitely was nice to have some background on the characters!
Overall, it was a fun and quick read that I probably won't remember for long, but enjoyed while I was reading it!

I loved the Perfect Marriage and the Perfect Divorce is just as diabolical. Why do I want Sarah to succeed in her schemes despite the fact that she is a psychopath? But this time, Bob is a psychopath too. Is clever enough to take down Sarah? Absolutely not. I'm not sure where this story could go honestly, but if there was a third I would 100 percent read it.
This is my 4th Jeneva Rose novel. Despite hating one of them I loved the other 3, so I will definitely keep coming back. The audio for this was gripping, absolutely perfect.
Thank you to NetGalley, the author Jeneva Rose, and Blackstone Publishing for my ARC of this audiobook.

Book Review: The Perfect Divorce by Jeneva Rose
I received the audiobook version of The Perfect Divorce from the publisher and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. The audio quality was excellent and I really enjoyed listening to it. This is the second book in the Perfect series, which I did not realize at first, but it did not affect my experience. It works well as a standalone.
One of the things I liked most about this book was the way Jeneva Rose chose to tell the story through unreliable and deeply flawed characters. None of them are likable and none of them are truly the main character, except for Hudson, whose perspective I found particularly compelling. The multiple perspectives added depth to the story, especially since the two central characters are both terrible human beings, self-centered, manipulative, and masters of gaslighting. I thought it was brilliant.
The book does a great job of exposing the dark side of human nature, the ability to exploit and abuse power when given too much authority. It shows just how far someone will go for their own benefit, using others as stepping stones, scapegoats, or shields.
Now a bit of a spoiler. Fiction is meant to reflect reality, often in an exaggerated way. Whether intentionally or not, we tend to see connections between the stories we read and the world around us. For me, The Perfect Divorce felt eerily similar to real-life power struggles and manipulation. Sara, one of the main characters, kidnaps two innocent women and kills one of them just to twist the truth in her favor and come out as the victim. She frames her husband Bob, who is a terrible person in his own right, for unspeakable crimes. But while Bob is awful, that does not justify what she does. Causing trauma, inflicting physical and psychological harm, and killing innocent people can never be excused.
This made me think of the way power is abused on a much larger scale, how leaders fabricate the truth, manipulate public perception, and justify horrific acts under the guise of righteousness. I know this is just a book review and not a political analysis, but as a reader I cannot ignore the parallels I saw. The way Netanyahu justifies bombing civilians in Gaza, killing babies, children, women, and innocent men while claiming self-defense, mirrors the same kind of twisted logic we see in Sara’s character. She commits atrocities and then paints herself as the victim.
That said, while I found the themes thought-provoking, I was not impressed by the writing itself. Other than the plot twists at the end, nothing about this thriller stood out to me. It felt a bit overhyped. The concept was strong but the execution did not fully deliver.
Overall, The Perfect Divorce was an interesting read with some solid psychological depth but the writing left something to be desired. If you enjoy morally gray characters and dark twisted narratives, you might like this one. Just do not go in expecting literary brilliance.

Did The Perfect Marriage need a sequel? I wasn't sure. But it turns out the answer is YES.
Sarah Morgan is back in all her f*ck around and find out glory. She's more menacing, manipulative, unhinged and deranged than ever. But somehow I still rooted for her. The whole storyline is a bit ridiculous, as are the characters...but in the best possible way.
This book is well-paced and entertaining from start to finish. Expect lots of twists and turns. The Perfect Divorce might be even better than The Perfect Marriage. Gotta Love Jeneva Rose!
4.3 rounded down to 4.

I have been begging for this book, but to no avail, then Blackstone Audio came out which I am auto approved for! The wait was finally over! I did a quick reread of the new edition of the Perfect Marriage first and then jumped right into The Perfect Divorce. Sarah Morgan is the worst, but I can’t look away! After everything that happened in the first book, I have come to loathe this woman. She is so clever and conniving and always manages to escape sticky situations, but will her luck finally run out in this one? You have to read to find out 😏 If you’re looking for a domestic thriller that is a twisty treat, look no further! I would highly recommend reading the Perfect Marriage first! The audio of this was great, with a full cast, including one of my favorites, Brittany Pressley! I have my signed, special edition preordered to match the other one on my shelf! 😍

Thank you to Jeneva Rose and Blackstone Publishing for the ALC via NetGalley!💌✨
The Perfect Divorce, the sequel to The Perfect Marriage is out on April 15th, so be sure to get your copy!
It’s been eleven years since attorney Sarah Morgan defended her husband, Adam, against the charges of murdering his mistress. Since then, Sarah’s life is exactly how she wanted it to be; she has remarried and built a new life with her family. But when she discovers her new husband’s infidelity, her world is turned upside down once again. As she navigates her divorce, shocking new DNA evidence emerges in the case that once haunted her — bringing Adam’s past back into the spotlight.
WOW! I absolutely loved not just the story, but also listening to it! The narrators did an amazing job representing their roles; making it so engaging and enjoyable! I was a bit nervous because this is a sequel, but this was such a great follow up to the first book; I even ended up enjoying this one more than the first one. It’s packed with twists and turns, making it such an addictive read/listen. I would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone who read the Perfect Marriage or anyone who loves psychological thrillers!

I have to start by telling you that the audiobook was perfection. I especially loved the voice for detective Hudson. Delicious! This book was gripping and intense. It had more twists and turns than the first book and I never could tell where it was going. This book also had more spice than I was expecting which was a nice surprise as a romance girlie! Overall this was a great read!

Powerful attorney Sarah Morgan is back and she's got a new marriage...now on the rocks. u years after her husband Adam was sentenced for a murder & later executed, she's now moved on with her new husband Bob & their daughter.
But after catching Bob cheating on her, she's quick to file for divorce. As tensions rise, Bob's one night stand suddenly goes missing and he's the prime person of interest, all as new evidence comes to light surrounding her previous husband's murder conviction. Sarah and Bob are at odds and a cat and mouse game of getting back at each other ensues. But are they guilty of crimes as well? And which ones??
This had a lot of the same high stakes and suspense mixed with dark humor that had me unable to put down The Perfect Marriage, and this was just as hard to stop reading. It was great! I love the twists and can’t wait to see if there’s a third book out of this series. The entire cast of narrators helped bring each character and their unique experiences to life!
Thank you to Blackstone Publishing for the advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

I absolutely loved The Perfect Marriage so I was very excited for The Perfect Divorce. I don't want to stay too much because if I do I feel like it will give things away & I do not want to ruin this experience for anyone.
I will say that, in my opinion, it was easy to guess what was going on. There were some twists that had my mouth hanging open which bummed my 3 star rating up to 3.5.
At the end of the day-- these characters are not likable & I think in the first book you were busy trying to figure out what was going on, who these people were, & how everything really went down. During this book-- we know. I don't know. I didn't love it, I didn't dislike, & it was entertaining.
Thanks so much NetGalley & Blackstone Publishing for this audio book in exchange for an honest review.

Eleven years after defending her husband, Adam, against the charge of murdering his mistress, Sarah has moved on and started a new life with her new husband, Bob, and their daughter, Summer. However, things take a turn when she finds out about Bob's affair, which prompts her to ask for a divorce; and to make things worse, new DNA evidence gets uncovered in Adam's case, forcing the police to reopen the investigation.
As someone who didn't particularly enjoy the first book, this completely outdoes it. The storyline is so completely ridiculous, unhinged and far-fetched, but also so incredibly entertaining, darkly funny and such a quick read. The cat and mouse game in between Sarah and Bob was so fun to follow along, as you just have no idea what either one of them might be able to come up with next. There's not much I can say without it spoiling something, but it genuinely was a great read, and it definitely exceeded my expectations; I would recommend giving it a chance even if you weren't a fan of the first one!
I listened to the audiobook for this one, and it did wonders, truly made it an experience. The cast is so good, and everyone did a great job capturing these characters and bringing them to life.

Honestly, I wish I had re-read book one before diving into this, but when NetGalley sends you an early copy, you go for it! 😆 And WOW—this book did not disappoint!
The plot twist🌀at the end was Perfection. 🤯 I was shook! Jeneva Rose has this insane ability to weave so many details into her stories 📖 that make everything feel so real. I did think there were a few too many POVs, but somehow, I managed to keep up. 🏃♀️📚
At this point, I don’t think I’ve ever read a book of hers that I didn’t love. She always delivers the drama, the suspense, and plenty of plot twists! 👏💀🔥

This was a new experience for me, I had the privilege of listening to an advanced audiobook release, and I was pleasantly surprised.
The narrators really helped bring this story to life. I was fully engaged in the storytelling and invested in the conclusion.
This mystery has certainly opened my mind to what a good plot build up can achieve. Even when I thought I had the ending all figured out, I wasn't completely right. At the end of the day, a good mystery keeps you guessing.
Loved it, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good whodunnit!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Even without having read the first book, the story felt fresh and engaging. The pacing was excellent, and the audiobook format, with multiple narrators, made it even more immersive. Bob, despite his flaws, turned out to be my favorite character—his unlikable charm kept me invested in his storyline. Sarah’s complexity added even more depth, making every twist and turn even more compelling. While there were a couple of minor plot holes, they didn’t take away from my overall enjoyment.

This book was so good! I read this right after reading the perfect marriage. I feel like it could be a standalone however it definitely picks up from the first. And by reading the first, you definitely had a good understanding of all of the characters. I could not put this book down. It was very good. The audiobook was amazing and I loved all of the narrators.

The sequel is never better than the original, but in this case, IT IS. I am obsessed with this book. I absolutely ate it up. I just want this series to keep going on forever, because it is such an easy read with the best twists.

Really well done! The Perfect Divorce was the perfect sequel to The Perfect Marriage. The pacing, multiple points of view, and the audio narrators, readers and fans of Jeneva Rose will not be disappointed.

I enjoyed this a lot! I was immediately drawn in and while some parts were a bit predictable, I was still trying to guess the twists the entire time. I finished it in 3 days because I just couldn’t stop listening.
Sometimes I have trouble following an audiobook when there are many POVs and I struggled a little to track all the characters and relationships at the beginning (though I think that’s a me problem, not the book). But once I was into the story it got easier, which in turn made me enjoy the book more.
Thank you to NetGalley and Blackstone Publishing - Audiobooks for the ARC! This was my first audiobook ARC and it was so much fun to get to listen early!

Stop it! This book was even better than the first! So many twists and turns and I LOVED the multiple POV’s. This book was so good I couldn’t put it down!

I was really looking forward to The Perfect Divorce after loving The Perfect Marriage, and it didn’t disappoint! It had the same twisty, unpredictable style that kept me hooked. This time, I knew better than to trust the two main characters, but there were still surprises I didn’t see coming. A fun, quick, and easy read! Thank you to NetGalley and Blackstone Publishing for providing me with this ARC.

Congratulations, Jeneva Rose, for another razor-sharp domestic thriller. The Perfect Divorce is the perfect sequel to The Perfect Marriage. Poor Bob. He never stood a chance against Sarah's clever, devious ways. Dare I beg Ms. Rose for a sequel to this sequel?
