Jeneva Rose returns with The Perfect Divorce, the high-stakes, drama-packed sequel to The Perfect Marriage. While the title may suggest closure, what you actually get is more secrets, betrayals, and unexpected fallout, which make this domestic thriller just as gripping as the first.

Picking up after the events of The Perfect Marriage, the story plunges us back into the messy lives of characters still dealing with the consequences of the deception and murder in the first book. This time around, the narrative expands in scope, giving us multiple POVs that keep the pace flying and the tension building. Every chapter pushes the story forward with purpose and I really couldn’t put this one down.

What really elevates The Perfect Divorce is the incredible full-cast audiobook. With narration by Mozhan Navabi, J.S. Arquin, Adam Lazarre-White, Brittany Pressley, Andi Arndt, and Andrew Eiden, the story comes to life in a way that feels cinematic. Each narrator adds a distinct voice and emotional weight to their character, making it easy to stay invested as the drama unfolds.

While the book might not reinvent the thriller genre, it doesn’t need to because it’s fast, fun, and full of juicy twists that make it a perfect binge. If you’re a fan of messy relationships, family drama, and secrets with consequences, The Perfect Divorce delivers a satisfying, entertaining ride.

Thank you to Netgalley for the free audiobook in exchange for my honest review.

I listened to The Perfect Marriage on audiobook earlier this year and have been trying to get my hands on a copy of The Perfect Divorce for the past few months so I was so excited when I was able to access the audiobook on NetGalley! The Perfect Divorce picks a few years after where we left off in The Perfect Marriage. And yet another man has made the grave mistake of crossing Sarah Morgan. Bob is currently on Sarah's bad side after she discover he's cheating on her and she's filing for divorce. We also are reintroduced to several familiar characters from The Perfect Marriage. Given how the storyline for the second books continues from the first, this is not a series where you can jump into the sequel without reading the OG. I know some folks loved The Perfect Marriage but it was a solid 3-3.5 star read for me and I'd say The Perfect Divorce was about the same for me. Is it the best thriller I've read, absolutely not; but it's also not the worst. I wished there was more character development and just one speck of realism -- the storyline feels so incredibly far fetched and implausible it's hard to take seriously. I did really love and appreciate the diversity of voice/narrators in The Perfect Divorce compared to The Perfect Marriage; hearing various narrators was really refreshing in The Perfect Divorce so big kudos there.

Firstly, thank you to NetGalley and Blackstone Publishing – Audiobooks for providing this audio ARC in exchange for an honest review.

While I enjoyed the premise of The Perfect Marriage a bit more, I actually preferred The Perfect Divorce overall. This sequel delivered even more drama and excitement, and I found myself constantly wanting to pick it back up.

I will definitely be reading more from Jeneva Rose in the future.

It was an okay read, but it left me wanting more. The plot felt almost identical to the first book in the series, and unfortunately, not much depth was added. I kept hoping for a plot twist that never really came. It was so predictable.

I wish we seen more growth and development in Sarah’s character or she faced some new challenges. I enjoyed the first book, but was left a little disappointed by this one. However, I did like the dynamics and banter between the sheriff and Officer Olson. Overall, it left me desiring more.

I didn't realize this was a sequel so I had to stop and go purchase the first book to come back and read this one. It was pretty great, I was interested in how from the first. book could a believable twist happen and I was pleasantly surprised.

Thank you NetGalley and Publisher for allowing me to listen and review this book.

I very much enjoyed this book. The writing was great and the characters were well developed. I hope to read more from this author in the future.

Overall Rating: 3.5 / 5 Stars

The Perfect Divorce picks up about a decade after The Perfect Marriage ends – readers still predominantly follow attorney, wife, and (now) mom, Sarah Morgan, but this sequel introduces storytelling from several new perspectives as well.

Sarah discovers that her husband, Bob, has had a one-night stand, and immediately files for divorce. Their separation becomes nasty as the two battle for custody over their daughter, and as dirty secrets from their past reemerge.

This is my fourth read from Jeneva Roses’ backlog – there’s a few things you can expect from this author:
- plot-driven narrative
- dry humor and sarcasm
- wild turns

Here’s a few things you shouldn’t expect:
- deep and developed characters
- events that are true to reality (especially with the functionality of the courts/police, haha)

I enjoyed the sequel more than the first book in the series! The convergence of past and present crimes was well done, and the story moves quickly to keep you entertained (under a 300-page read).

The audio production was well done with multiple narrators driving each unique POV.

Thank you to the team at Blackstone for providing an ALC for review! All opinions are my own.

I did not read the perfect marriage. This was great just on its own. It was darkly entertaining and had me guessing until the end! Very good book! Thank you!!

Fast paced and great twists that I did not see coming. Sarah is a BOSS! Do NOT get on the wrong side of her. Will we learn more about Bob in a third book??

Ahead of listening to this audiobook, I read The Perfect Marriage, finishing them both in a weekend,
I rated this book 4.5 stars on Fable, compared to the Perfect Marriage which was a 5 star read, but I’d be happy to round up to 5 here!

The narration was great; different narrators for each point of view really added to the visualisation of each character and it was easy to distinguish between them.

The was a great twisty sequel to The Perfect Marriage. The ending will really have you asking who you can trust and who is telling the truth. I wouldn't mind seeing another one in this series. The narrators were great and it was easy to follow along with who was who.

I wasn't a huge fan of the Perfect Marriage, mostly because the ending and Sarah getting away with it in the end. I saw that a sequel, The Perfect Divorce, was available as an ARC, and I wasn't sure it was totally necessary, but thought it might pull together some of the loose ends from the first book. I’m happy there was an explanation for all of the errors made by the police in the first book. If you can put up with most of the main characters being awful human beings. I’ll continue reading Jeneva Rose’s books, but I didn’t like this sequel any more than I liked the original. Sarah Morgan simply isn’t an anti-hero that I can root for, which made this follow up to The Perfect Marriage more frustrating than fun for me. The book was fast-paced and kept me engaged, but it was overall just okay.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

This is a follow up to The Perfect Marriage. Andi Arndt and Mozhan Navabi both did a great job with their narration. The story itself was good, but it was predictable, especially if you read one right after the other. Regardless, it was entertaining to the very end.

The sequel to “The Perfect Marriage” picks up 12 years later when the events of the first story come back to play tricks on those involved. In another game of cat and mouse, where both spouses are experts at the game, who will come out as the winner.

An amazing follow up to the popular novel "The Perfect Marriage". We're introduced to several new characters (and some old). Several different points of views create further distrust and unreliable narrators. On the surface, nothing is as it seems and no one should be trusted.

The Perfect Marriage was so good to me, its one of those thrillers just like The Silent Patient and The Last Flight that were my all time favorite reads because the twist was just that good so when I heard this was coming out I absolutely re read The Perfect Marriage and then jumped into listening to this and it was hands down so good. This one just tied up all the loose ends to finish it up and complete the whole story. You definitely wont regret it.

The Perfect Divorce offers a satisfyingly twisted sequel for fans of The Perfect Marriage—cinematic audio, a ruthless protagonist, and plenty of legal intrigue. If you crave moral gray zones, high-contrast characters, and a fast pulse, this audiobook hits hard. Just don’t expect wholly fresh territory or universally likable cast members—some plotlines feel setup for the series yet to come.

The Perfect Divorce audiobook review

First off I want to thank Netgally, Jeneva Rose, and Blackstone Publishing for the opportunity to obtain the audiobook version of this book.

It has been a long time since I’ve read/listened to an actual straight mystery/thriller that wasn’t a romance in at least part of the subplot, and I was enraptured by it. Jeneva conveyed the absolute perfect about of mystery, subterfuge, and tension this entire book that I was even listening to it after I got home from the gym as well. Usually I only do my Audio books while I work out, but a select few dig their hooks in this deep that I also have to continue listening after.

That ending? Phenomenal. I LOVED the twists we were taken through and the small connections that were revealed that made the entire picture truly come alive. It was like all the parties were trying to play 4D chess, but there can really only be one master.

I would definitely like to listen to this again to catch all the little side comments and hints I might’ve missed on the first listen through as well. The cast of narrators were amazing. I loved all the diverse voices we got for different characters.

The character development, and in truth, character break down, throughout this book was done so beautifully that sometimes you weren’t even sure what was ever true to begin with. When it boils down to it, “sometimes truth is stranger than fiction”.

Overall rating- 5✨
Narrators- 5✨

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ALC of The Perfect Divorce by Jeneva Rose. This was an entertaining, twisty listen that kept me engaged from start to finish. Rose has a real talent for pacing and tension, and the audio format really brought the story to life. The narration was strong and matched the sharp, fast-moving plot perfectly. I liked the mix of legal drama and psychological suspense, and while a few of the twists felt a little familiar, the execution kept things interesting. The characters had enough depth to make me care, especially as secrets started to unravel. Overall, The Perfect Divorce is a solid thriller that’s easy to get caught up in, especially in audio form. It’s clever, well-paced, and just the right amount of dramatic.

While this book was an easy and entertaining read; I don't feel like it was necessary. I definitely enjoyed 'The Perfect Marriage' more, but understand why Rose wrote this novel to appease the masses.
