Sarah Morgan is back, y’all! Thanks to Blackstone Publishjng and Netgalley for the audiobook ARC. I was super excited to get into The Perfect Divorce since TPM was the book that got me back into to reading. It started a little slow for me, but it definitely picked up as the story went on. Other than my feedback regarding the audiobook below, Jeneva, you’ve done it again! Great book. 🪿

*Note for audiobook - the narrator for Bob’s character was so difficult for me to listen to. I tried at regular speed and at double speed, and I could not wait until they stopped speaking. I’m not sure if this was intentional, but it affected my enjoyment of the audiobook. I would have preferred to read this one instead of listen.

A fantastic sequel to The Perfect Marriage, with twists and a darkness that rival the first book. Rarely does a sequel live up to the hype but this one definitely does! I always wonder if a book that is a "sequel" can be read without reading the first book, really this one does require you to read The Perfect Marriage first. It not only helps with the storyline but also the background of the characters that really enhances the story itself.

Sarah Morgan defended her husband, Adam, when he was accused of the brutal murder of his mistress. When new evidence arises 12 years later, Adam's guild is back in question, but unfortunately far too late. Sarah is now married to Bob, with that marriage on the rocks as well.

So many things are going on in this book, you really need a diagram to keep it all straight - connections between characters, plot twists, and timelines have you guessing the entire time! There were parts that I did have to go back and re-read/listen just to make sure I was connecting the pieces correctly, but that really shows the complexity of Jeneva Rose's writing and the genius that it took to put this all together! Twists upon twists, and just when I thought I knew where things were going, it twists even more. So fun! And these characters are dark - and I mean DARK.

I listened to the audiobook version and it was really good - multiple narrators made it easy to figure out which perspective was being told so it was easy to stay engaged and follow along.

Thank you to Blackstone Publishing and NetGalley for the eARC in exchange for an honest review - out now!

This was a very entertaining read with great, unlikeable characters, twists, suspense, and a story that kept you guessing until the end. This wasn't a groundbreaking suspense thriller, but it had all the elements to make an enjoyable suspense thriller that I had trouble putting down. I liked the narrators in this one a lot.

Full of twists, turns, deceit, and revenge, this wickedly fun and delicious read will leave you wondering who will outwit whom. I urge you to read the first novel, The Perfect Marriage. It was very good, but this one—dare I say—is even more delicious than its predecessor.

Brief synopsis: We pick up 11 months after Adam was executed by the state and Sarah and Bob were married. It seems Sarah and Bob are divorcing because of Bob’s one-night stand. Sarah always felt Bob was temporary, and her trust has been broken once again. But this time, she’s not going to sit on her problem. Instead of killing him or setting him up for murder, she’ll just divorce him. Bob, knowing this, feels strongly that they still have a chance at marriage. As time passes, and his lawyer letting him know more about the Stacey Howard, the girl he slept with, he begins to question whether Sarah is setting him up in connection with Stacey, the now missing girl, reported by Stacey's friend and roommate. We watch Bob go down into this rabbit hole and he knows, he has to strike Sarah down. This time, there’s no bumbling, self-serving sheriff to help Sarah. There's a new sherrif in town and his name is Marcus Hudson. At the request of Bob Miller, Brad, his lawyer, dug up some the background on Stacey. It seems Stacey Howard isn’t so innocent herself.

Both Bob and Sarah have secrets on each other that could scorch the earth, but how far will they go? They’re both psychopaths who will stop at nothing to win. Just when you think you know who the true killer is, you’re taken for another ride.

The audiobook was exceptional, with a full cast of narrators providing unique voices, pacing, and expressiveness that truly brought all the characters to life. One word to fully describe this book: addictive.

I wish to thank NetGalley and Blackstone Publishing, Audiobooks, for this advanced audio copy in exchange for my honest opinion.

Jeneva Rose always writes such intense thrillers! After reading and loving The Perfect Marriage, I couldn't wait to get stuck into this follow up book featuring attorney Sarah, who once again doesn't have any luck with her new husband Bob caught cheating on her. Filing for divorce, new evidence comes into light and Sarah is once again a public figure.

If you enjoy twisty thrillers that are hard to put down once you get started, these books are a must for you to read! This audiobook was expertly narrated with a clever cast that kept me entertained throughout. I hope we get to read more about Sarah and her adventures - maybe there's another book coming?

Jeneva Rose absolutely delivers in The Perfect Divorce, the gripping second installment in her series—and dare I say, it's even better than the first. This thriller is packed with jaw-dropping twists, sharp writing, and a storyline that keeps you guessing until the very last page.
From the very beginning, the pace is relentless. Rose masterfully builds suspense while deepening the characters we've already come to know, adding new layers and unexpected turns that will have your heart racing. Just when you think you’ve figured it all out, she pulls the rug right out from under you.
What sets The Perfect Divorce apart is how effortlessly it blends emotional depth with edge-of-your-seat intensity. The ending? Completely unexpected and brilliantly executed. You won’t see it coming—and that’s what makes it so satisfying.
If you thought the first book was good, prepare to be blown away. The Perfect Divorce is a must-read for thriller fans and anyone who loves a smart, twisty ride. Clear your schedule—you won't be able to put it down.

A sequel that is as good as the first book. Sarah is back again and as manipulative as ever. Thus book picks up right where the first one ends and is fully of twists and turns that will keep you on the edge. I liked the introduction of new characters and twists to the plot that keep me guessing till the end. I may like this more than the original.

This book was a good time but it felt very similar to The Perfect Marriage> I will admit when I went in I said to myself, "If in the end it was Sarah as the mastermind again I'm going to be mad" and unfortunately that was the case. Even though the plot was different in some ways it still felt like the same book. I did love the full cast audio book and that made it engaging.

I will admit that The Perfect Marriage wasn’t my favorite book by Jeneva Rose, but this one was so much better and completely made up for the things in that one I didn’t love. I listened to the audiobook for this one and I liked the narration quite a bit. This was full of twists and turns and while I expected pretty much all of them, I still enjoyed the wild ride. Sarah’s second marriage is also ending, this one she is ending with divorce. Bob is not pleased with this turn of events and is desperate to earn her forgiveness. But their past is also coming back to the forefront as new evidence suggests it’s possible that Sarah’s first husband didn’t kill the woman he was convicted and put to death for killing. This is full of drama and deceit and I enjoyed it. Overall I gave it 4.5 stars rounded up for being a fun ride.

This one gets five decadent stars!
I was so excited to see this book and its stunning cover! To gear up for the release, I revisited "The Perfect Marriage." When I received an ALC of "The Perfect Divorce" from Blackstone Audio, I was over the moon! A huge shoutout to them! Jeneva Rose has quickly become one of my top authors, and I adore following her on Instagram—her hilarious videos always put a smile on my face! I'd love to be one of the customers to find one of her secretly signed books.

Her writing captivates me because of her ability to bring life to her characters, especially in the audiobook versions. They always feature incredible narrators!

Sarah is such an interesting character—manipulative and cold-hearted, yet there is something about her that I can't help but admire! She's clever enough to outsmart anyone who stands in her way.

This thrilling sequel is a freaking wild ride! Heads up—if you haven't read Book #1, STOP HERE!! There are spoilers below!

It's been eleven years since Sarah defended Adam for the horrific murder of his mistress. That was a crazy trip!

At the end of "The Perfect Marriage," Sarah threw us a curveball by getting pregnant by Bob Miller, her super arrogant coworker (ugh, seriously?!). She marries him, but surprise, she’s divorcing him because he had an affair. Oh, Bob! Didn't you learn anything from watching Adam's life spiral into a nightmare? Speaking of Adam, his murder conviction is reopened while Sarah’s in the middle of her messy divorce. Talk about drama!

The character development is amazing, and it's entrancing to watch Sarah's past and present collide. This book is a gripping suspense with unforgettable characters.

Thanks to the author and Blackstone Audio for the ALC provided via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

Sarah is drawing attention again just like she was 11 years ago when her husband was murdered. She is a defense attorney and defended him in court when he was on trial for murder. Now, she is remarried and has a daughter. The old murder case has been reopened and she is running scared.

To top it all off, her current husband Bob, has had a one night stand and Sarah is not going to tolerate it. She has filed for divorce. All hell breaks loose and the hatred between them is escalating, including the fact that his one night stand gal is now missing.

The first book, The Perfect Marriage, was such a great psychological thriller that I wasn’t sure how the second one would play out. It was just as great or better! This is a devious powerhouse of a book! Wow. In addition to the book being fabulous, I listened to it, which brought such force to the story. Mozhan Navabi, Andrew Eiden, Adam Lazzare-White, J.S. Arquin, Brittany Pressey, and Andy Arndt are all phenomenal. I especially like Adam Lazzare-White’s voice, but all of them were perfect!

I recommend reading both books, but Jeneva Rose does a great job of incorporating the first book into the second one. Therefore, those reading just the second one can fully enjoy the story.

The Perfect Divorce by Jeneva Rose
4/5 🌟 pub 4/15/2025

This sequel delivered !! I quickly was able to get back into Sarah’s life with this one and she at it again, trying to divorce her current husband due to his one night stand. Her writing style is the perfect mix of dark and leading with apt descriptions.

We pick up 12 years later and her ex was executed on death row and her current husband Bob, also a lawyer in her firm, is caught cheating so she filed for divorce. It’s multiple perspectives throughout with the sherif, bob, and an unknown kidnap victim, Sarah. The way the story connects is so brilliant and since we know the protagonist is very proficient there is a sense that she is behind it all however it unfolds a bit more messy leaving plenty of room to make your own guesses at the ending!

Highly recommend

This audiobook is extremely well done, it includes a full cast of narrators for the different POV and each individual had a unique voice, pacing and expressiveness that brought the different characters to life.

I felt that Jeneva Rose's style of switching between the different POV and the keeping the chapters short really added to the tension of the novel with great cliff hangers. I found myself completing unnecessary chores just to keep listening 🤣🤦‍♀️

I want to highlight that this novel is book 2 of a series. While you can read it as a standalone novel like I did, I do think it would create a better reading experience if you read Book 1 first. Plot points from book 1 were referenced often throughout this novel.

Overall I thought this was a gripping thriller that had be questioning everyone's motives and who was telling the truth. I easily read this novel is just a few days and I would definitely recommend you add this series to your TBR if you enjoy suspense

While this can be read as a stand alone, the reader would get more out of it if they read it closer to the first. I didn’t like this nearly as much but did find it captivating and interesting with a few surprises though many intended twists weren’t twists for me.

I was honestly so nervous to read this one because I loved the first book The Perfect Marriage so much but I really did enjoy this one…. Phew 😅😂
This book was a wild ride. It was dark, chaotic, twisty and kept me engaged the entire time! Sarah Morgan is quite the mastermind. She is smart , savage and you love to hate her. The narrators did a great job with the story. Their voices fit the characters so well.
