When I saw that Brooks was getting a book, I knew I had to read this one. And it did not disappoint! I truly enjoyed Siena and Brooks story and had a good time reading this book. It was funny, swoony, steamy af, and a tear jerker. I can’t wait for the next book. I loved seeing Mel, Zac, Parker, and Summer. And meeting Shy, Rachel, Carla, Rosie, and Evan was a joy. This series has been a lot of fun and I’m excited for the next book!

Huge thank you to Atria books for the early copy!

I am a sucker for a fake dating romance and the fact that is was also a sports romance, was an even bigger win for me. I have become such a fan of Ellie’s writing style and loved the character development we got from Brooks not just in this book, but from what we saw of him in book 1. Siena took me a little bit to warm up to and at times some of her jokes/innuendos were a bit cheesy for me, but the chemistry between our 2 main characters was electric. I’m excited to see what everyone else thinks of this one and I will have some more thoughts to share closer to release date!

The second book in the Oakwood Bay series did not disappoint.

This a story about Siena and Brooks - two wild souls who literally pump into each other and fall in love. But of course, they won't let each other know about their feelings due to past traumas that haunt them to this day.

I loved how caring and protective Brooks was. This big tough football player who turned into a smushhy puppy the moment Siena was around. Sienas character made me laugh so many times - this girl definitely had a mouth on her 😆

Definitely hooked on this series and patiently waiting for the next one 😊 Maybe also a 4th one?! Or will Parker and Summer become a couple?!? 🤔😲

Thank you to netgalley and Atria books for providing this arc in exchange for an honest review.

A wonderful read!
This novel drew me in from the very first page and kept me hooked until the end. The characters were vibrant and relatable, the writing was engaging, and the story had just the right balance of heart and humor. Highly recommend!
Many thanks to NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for my ARC. All opinions are my own.

Only Between Us is a steamy fake dating novel where a football player looks to repair his image during his comeback from a long term injury while the ex of the leagues super star is finds herself in the media spotlight once again. Between her struggling family business and his reputation that needs serious repair, but have a lot to gain from some positive media, including a steamy relationship with so much chemistry.
I loved this book and thought the two MC's had a great arc with great characters who I loved getting to read about.

I really enjoyed reading this book. I would recommend it to those that like the tropes of fake dating and sports romance. If you love a story where the guy is way too possessive and protective of his love interest, then this book is for you. It is great writing and pacing. The story is realistic, though the fictional teams don’t really exist. Be sure to grab this book when it comes out in July!

ARC Review

Thank you to Ellie K. Wilde, Atria Books, and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.75/5
🌶🌶🌶.5/5

I love Brooks! He was my favorite side character in Only in Your Dreams and getting his story was delightful!

The banter and chemistry between Brooks and Siena was chef's kiss! I was giggling and swooning throughout the book! My heart ached for both Brooks and Siena for all they went through to find each other!

Ellie K. Wilde is quickly becoming one of my favorite sports romance authors! Highly recommend her Oakwood Bay series!

Only Between Us was the kind of emotional slow burn that sneaks up on you. Ellie K. Wilde crafts tension so well—both romantic and emotional—and I found myself completely wrapped up in the push and pull between the characters. There’s an intimacy to the way she writes, like you’re eavesdropping on something you shouldn’t hear but can’t stop listening to.

I loved the layered characters and their complicated histories, and the way secrets unraveled made the pacing feel deliberate in the best way. The romance? Angsty, restrained, and exactly what I crave when I want my heart to ache just a little.

My only reason for not giving it a full five stars? I think I wanted more—more payoff, more intensity in certain moments that felt just shy of breaking open. But that didn’t stop me from devouring it and highlighting way too many lines.

Ellie K. Wilde is now firmly on my radar. If you like character-driven romance with emotional depth and just the right amount of tension, this one’s for you.

Thank you to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for gifting me an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Wilde's second book in the series is a bit slower and kind of super far-fetched? It's all EXTREMELY messy which makes for a fun read but there was just never a point in this book where I felt like any part of the story was believable and for that reason, I didn't feel like the characters were relatable at all. The whole "bad boy of the NFL" thing was funny at times, but as a big NFL fan I was just kind of like there is no way this would ever happen??? The whole fake dating trope is also just tough for me to get behind because never in a million years would I waste my time on someone I had no actual intention of dating, lol. This was just fine, not sure I would recommend.

LOVED this one! Going to have to go back and read the first book. It was refreshing to see such an emotionally intelligent MMC. While sliiiiiightly unbelievable, Siena's background was fleshed out, and the warmth of her relationship with her mother was lovely to see.

I received this book from Atria and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. This book is a standalone but is connected to Only in Your Dreams. I really enjoyed seeing Brooks again and getting his backstory and then watching him chase his dreams. He was such a sweet, earnest MMC. Siena had some serious trauma from childhood that she was working through and he was so patient with her. I found myself skipping over intimate parts because they became too much for me.

This is book #2 in a set of interconnected stand-alones. I have not read the first book but after reading this one will totally go back and read it. I loved seeing a rom-com with characters that are over 25 lol. Plus fake dating? He falls first? Football romance? Dog dad? I mean allllllll of those are yeses on their own and then put them all into a book? YUP. I read it in 2 days. I also loved the attitude of the FMC and her quick witty comebacks. The banter was 🤌🏻The spice 🌶️? That was great too. 💯recommend.

A solid 4 ⭐️!

Thank you netgalley for allowing me to arc read this book. It sounded so good when I read about it and I’m leaving an honest review by my own free will.

This book has the normal fake dating and sports romance book tropes but these guys are ones that keep a smile on my face. The characters have great banter and chemistry. They are passionate and dedicated. They both have horrible ex’s who made them not want to trust easy or open their hearts. The journey they both go on is something relatable and heart warming.

There is spice and some triggers but nothing too heavy.

I definitely enjoyed this book and can’t wait to read more!
