The Other Miss Jones takes us on the journey of Sally Jones, a dispatcher, with a lot of life situations that she’s dealing with at the same time. Sally has a propensity for getting involved, or not letting go, of the problems of others.

She’s been emailing someone that shares her name for 5 years. Is the person that she’s befriended just someone that shares her name? Does the online Sally match up to the Sally she envisions?

When Sally starts looking for the online Sally, she begins realizing that she might have it all wrong. Instead of walking away, she gets more and more involved and only then, does she conclude that fantasy and reality are very different worlds. Even if you predict part of the story, you won’t likely guess all of the twists!

im not sure on this one. i think i wasnt in the mood to put everything aside so my cynical head was still in situ. its plot need to be a bit more believable to me. i didnt quite understand the decision the characters made. and i didnt quite get how they would ever believably ever keep happening.
but again maybe i came to this book at the wrong time. because i did keep reading and i did want to know what happened at the end. so its got to have been good in its own right. and i think it was a unique plot. i just wasnt buzzing for the next page like i like to be when im reading a thriller. ive also just been spoilt rotten with my previous thriller read so maybe this book suffered for that! sorry.

I liked the premise so dove right in.

At first I was asked to believe someone who works with the police was stupid enough to take on an investigation on their own, fair enough I thought. A little bit of artistic license. But then I was asked to believe that this person was also unaware of any danger and hardly capable of thinking for herself.

There isn’t a single “reveal” in this book is pointless, you will have worked it out and you’ll be surprised that this information is given to you as if it’s new.

This is not a book for those that like a bare minimum amount of sense and believability in their books BUT it may well satisfy those who like a very quirky novel for a quick read.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for sending me this eARC, in exchange for an honest review.

This book was a little unrealistic for me. The idea that someone would instantly befriend another person just because they share a name? That felt like a stretch. And the characters kept making wild decisions with zero hesitation—who actually does that?

Would I recommend it? Maybe to someone who enjoys fast-paced thrillers and doesn’t mind suspending disbelief. But if you’re looking for a story with depth and realism, this might not be your cup of tea.

This is a quirky little read with twists and turns all along the way. Sally Jones starts up a friendship by email due to her mail being sent to another Sally Jones. The two Sallies stay in touch by email for five years before actually meeting in person. (Who does that?) Everything starts going South when they meet. This is an interesting situation because it is an unusual way to get to know someone. Lots of drama here! I recommend this to everyone who likes a suspenseful slow burn.
Thanks to Net Galley for allowing me to read this ARC.

A Tangled Web..
The discovery of a doppelgänger in name only - so begins a somewhat strange friendship and bond which suddenly disintegrates with a disappearance. As shocking secrets and possible truths come to light, it may well be that nothing was real from the start. Slow burn suspense, where nothing is quite as it first appears, littered with twists and turns and a cast of credible and well drawn characters. A tangled web indeed.

A quick read, with fast-paced action all regarding two women with the same name.

Sally Jones is a kinda dumb girl next door. One day, she stumbles onto a small problem but soon digs herself deeper and deeper into something incredibly dangerous. Secrets! Betrayal! Lies!

I did enjoy the quick pace of this story, but did find that I could already guess what was going to happen. BUT, some of the twists were excellent.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for the opportunity to read and review this book.

Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read this ARC.

Sally Jones receives emails that were accidentally sent to the wrong “Sally Jones.” When the other Sally Jones goes missing it unravels a mystery from the past.

This book is divided into 5 parts. At first I was very engaged with the story, but then it seemed obvious what was going to happen. By part three or four it got more interesting again. I did feel like much of the story was predictable, but it kept me interested enough to keep reading. It was a decent read if you’re looking for something quick and easy.

This was an interesting read and did keep me gripped. I am rating it 4 stars though as I figured out the main twist within the first few chapters so wasn't super engaged after that.

I know we all supposed to have a doppleganger but have you ever met someone with the same name... well is what Sally Jones discovered and what happens next is chilling and for a reader thrilling.

This is a book that builds slowly but is a really good read.

It is twisty and intriguing and I absolutely loved it

3.5 ⭐️. I found this story quite slow paced at times but overall a decent thriller with a good twist. Sally Jones who is on leave from work decides to go find her friend who she has been communicating with by email, the friend also named Sally Jones. But is the friend really who she says she is.... Thanks to Netgalley and Hera Books for ARC.

I enjoyed finding out part of this book was based on an identical mixup, but overall the story was a bit slow and the ending unexpected but also a bit much to be honest.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for a copy of the book.

Overall a decent slow paced drama.
It did take a while to get going and i felt the ending a little far fetched.
My thanks to netgalley and the publisher for my copy.

As someone with a common name myself I found the premise for this plausible and funny. Although as the plot got going I did think the events and reasonings of the characters were a bit odd. The plot was okay although again I thought it a bit strange in places and the actions of Sally were bizarre at times.
This book has twists in it but I had them worked out very early on so I was not surprised. I would not have minded this except I thought something could have been thrown in to inject some excitement into the latter half.
I still enjoyed this book but I was anticipating more from it.
Thank you to NetGalley and Hera Books for an advance copy.

"The Other Miss Jones" follows Sally Jones, your ordinary next-door girl simple, emotional, and maybe a bit too naive. When she stumbles into a seemingly minor problem, her obsession with solving it spirals into something far more dangerous. What starts as a simple doubt turns into a tangled web of lies, family secrets, and hidden betrayals, all leading up to her upcoming wedding—a situation that makes you feel genuinely bad for her.

The book is divided into five parts, and I have to admit the first half dragged quite a bit with minimal development. But once Part Three kicked in, the twists started unraveling, keeping me hooked as the hidden truths surfaced one by one. While the ending did manage to surprise me in some ways, I could predict certain plot points, which lessened the impact.

Overall, a decent thriller with a slow build-up but a rewarding second half. If you enjoy domestic suspense with layers of doubt and deception, this one might be worth picking up!
I would like to give it 3.5 stars!!!

This was a total page-turner with amazing twists and turns. The epilogue was so good and totally unexpected! wow!!

I was delighted to be an ARC reader for Sophie Flynn’s latest novel, due to be published on 24th April by Hera Books.

I was drawn in from the very first page of the Prologue, found myself willing Sally to connect the dots, and wondering why she couldn’t work out what was staring her in the face!

As the book progressed, I was certain I knew what the ending would be, and was pleasantly surprised to see that I was wrong, with the biggest surprise in the epilogue.

I very much enjoyed the book, and would recommend.

This was a good quick read. Read it over a few hours and it had me page turning. The main character is slightly frustrating at the start but the ending was good. I’d definitely read more by this author too. Very enjoyable. Thanks for the early access.
