An addictive thriller, featuring coercive control, vengeance, desperate choices, manipulation and so many secrets.
Told through multiple perspectives, and alternating timeframes. This story highlights the tumultuous relationship between Emilia and Thomas, through to the present-day where Lucy is hired to provide the 24-hour care that catatonic Emilia requires. However, behind the polished facade, all is not as it seems...
This fast-paced story offered many surprises, that kept me reading long into the night!
With thanks to Storm Publishing and NetGalley, for the advanced reader copy to read and provide an honest review.
If you enjoy a rollercoaster read, similar to stories by Jeneva Rose, Freida McFadden or Kiersten Modglin, then definitely give this one a read!

This read had a good plot twist I did not see coming. The pacing of the book had me compelled the entire time and made it a very easy read.

Emilia thought she'd found the love of her life when she met Thomas. They fell in love quickly and married within months. But pretty soon, his true colours started to show.
Now, over 2 decades later, Emilia is stuck at home in a catatonic state. But her new carer, Lucy, seems to think Emilia is more aware than people think.
This was a brilliant read, fast-paced, and definitely had me hooked. There were plenty of twists that I didn't see coming, although I did figure out what was going on with Lucy pretty quickly.
Highly recommend this one if you're looking for a quick thriller.

This book started strong for me, however I didn’t love it after about halfway through. I did enjoy the read and would read another from this author.

Loved this thriller so much. Flew throught it , a literal page turner. Lucy gets a job has a live in carer for Emilia, but is everthing as what it seems. The twist is so good. Thank you to Netgalley and Storm Publishing for ARC.

Lucy Greer finds herself at a pivotal juncture in her life as she secures a position as a live-in caregiver for Emilia Caine, the spouse of affluent entrepreneur Thomas Caine. The narrative unfolds through a dual timeline format, alternating between the present-day experiences of Lucy and flashbacks that explore the tumultuous marriage of Emilia and Thomas. This structural approach not only enhances character development but also amplifies the suspense, as you gradually uncover the past traumas that have influenced Emilia's current circumstances. The intricate layers of the plot maintain reader engagement, as each character unveils their motivations and histories, adding complexity to the psychological thriller.
The book excels in its pacing and structure, featuring succinct, captivating chapters that contribute to a binge-worthy reading experience. Amanda McKinney's prose effectively captivates the reader, merging vivid imagery with emotionally charged dialogue. Each twist and turn heightens the intrigue, culminating in a climax that leaves readers breathless and yearning for resolution. The exploration of themes such as control, vengeance, and the facades individuals adopt to conceal their true selves resonates profoundly.Ultimately, "The Wife's Silence" serves as a compelling psychological thriller that not only entertains but also stimulates reflection on the intricacies of human relationships and the darkness that may lurk beneath an ostensibly perfect exterior.
I highly recommend this book. Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the advance review copy in exchange for my review.

"The Wife's Silence" by Amanda McKinney was an amazing book. It took you on a wild ride from the very first page. This book was so hard to put down and you don't see the twist coming.
Lucy is struggling to make ends meet and is at the end of the line when she gets a job taking care of an elderly lady. When Thomas, the husband, opens the door Lucy starts to get weird vibes from him. The longer Lucy stays in the house the more weird vibes that she gets. When a shocking discovery is made, things start to change in the house.
Highly Recommend this book!

Lucy has a strange feeling about the woman she is to take care of. But she senses the woman's husband has a dark side to him as well.
This book has everything you look for in a thriller: string characters, emotions, mystery, and an ending with a twist that you did not see coming!

Solid domestic thriller with lots of twists and turns. Fast-paced plot with intriguing characters told from multiple perspectives. Will be reading more from this author. #thewifessilence #amandamckinney #netgalley #goodreads

What a brilliant story this is. Thomas is in my top 5 most hated characters!!! Manipulation is his middle name. The book is full of twists and turns and red herrings. I can't recommend this book highly enough.

WOAH! I really enjoyed this one! If your a fan of Freida McFadden your going to love this! I did NOT see that curve ball coming!!
The story was so well written.
I didnt understand why so many short chapters, and the "then" and "now". There could have been a "then" and "now" and a part two, maybe. I may have been left with a few more questions at the end , but overall i flew this book in less than 24 hours.

Once I started reading this book , I couldn’t put it down.
I loved the way it was written, the plot and characters…. Lots of twists and turns. I highly recommend this book.
Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC and to author for a great story…

Emilia is a broken mother. Her teenage son has gone missing and now she sits day after day caged in a silent world unable to speak.
There is to the outside world, the devoted husband. But inside is his manipulation, threats and distance.
The housekeeper is watchful, but she has her own secrets. Is she to be trusted?
Enter Lucy, odd Lucy. She answers an ad for a caregiver for Emilia. As days pass, Lucy begins to suspect that there is more to Emilia’s silence and her treatment.
A twisted, sinister domestic thriller with no one to trust and only Lucy to help. But can she even be trusted? Thank you Netgalley and Storm Publishing for the early copy. This review is my own opinion.

From the moment I began this book I was hooked and continued to be until the last page. This was the first book I read by Amanda McKinney and it won't be my last.
Lucy is hired by a wealthy man to take care of his wife who suffered a stroke. Lucy is broke and desperate for a job and has no clue what she is getting involved in...or does she?

This is my first book by Amanda McKinney, and it was a great choice! The story moves along quickly, has a mix of good/bad and in-between characters, and is as twisty as it gets! Pure fun to read. 4-1/2 stars
I received an ARC for free and gave my honest opinion voluntarily.

What a gripping story!! My heart was in my throat at some points! The twists were giving me whiplash because you never see them coming!!! A page-turner for sure!
Lucy takes on a job as a live in caregiver to Emilia. Thomas, Emilia's husband, says she's suffered a massive stroke and needs assistance due to being immobile. Emilia can't speak, can't walk, and has limited functions. Thomas claims the stroke was brought on by the stress of their son's disappearance years before. But right away, Lucy can tell things just aren't right in this home. People aren't who they seem and the lies, the deceit, the blackmail... it's years deep. I loved how thrilling and suspenseful this was. You have read this one!!!

The Wifes Silence
I love this author and how gripping her books are. This one was no exception i raced through the book in a couple of days.
This book kind of reminds me of Verity by Colleen Hoover.
I cant wait to read more from this author very soon.
Thanks as always to Netgalley, the author and publisher for the ARC

WOW! What a ride this book was. Plenty of twists and turns along the way. Especially the one HUGE twist I did not see coming. I really enjoyed the different POV and the characters within the book. I did feel like the ending fell a little flat for me but I highly reccomend this book overall if you enjoy books with lots of twists and drama. Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC copy of this book! I will be sure to share on my platforms!

The Wife’s Silence completely pulled me in. I was hooked from the very first page. I’d definitely suggest going in blind. The story moves fast and is packed with twists and turns that kept me guessing the whole way through.
The story is layered with deception and vengeance, and it reminded me a lot of The Wife Upstairs by Freida McFadden—so if you liked that, you’ll love this. If you’re stuck in a reading slump, this one will snap you right out of it. I highly recommend it.
