This second installment of this series was just as cozy as the first, and the reader gets to go even deeper into the town of Adenashire. I love the new character of Sarson and he and Doli's relationship. I felt the ending was a little abrupt, but I loved the arrival of the dragons.
This is a perfect lighthearted summertime read. It can easily be read in a day or a weekend. If you need a fast-paced, cozy book to up your book count towards your yearly goal, this series is perfect. I cannot wait to continue on with it.

Absolutely lovely story about a dwarf who wields tea magic (I want this magic myself, oh my goodness) and her adventures in trying to care for a newly hatched dragon. I adored Doli and all her friends; their friendship is so sweet, and I loved how supportive they were as she struggled to juggle Evvy, her parents' unexpected visit, and a blossoming romance with a very sweet gargoyle. This was a delight to read, and I'll definitely be adding the other books in the series to my TBR pile!

This book focuses on Doli and her wonderful tea magic. I mentioned this in my review of the first book but this would be my dream power. To be able to conjure up a warming cup of any tea I could imagine? Yes please 😍
We see Doli deal with the visit of her overbearing parents, who are dying for her to return home and work in the family gem business whilst juggling a magical gift left to her by her uncle and a potential gargoyle love interest.
Which leads me on to Evvy, what an adorable creature 🥹.
The bond between her and Doli was so powerful that I almost teared up at the end.
I like that the story has a lot of references to the events that take place in the first book so you don’t forget anything. This was great at continuing character building and development.
I do feel that the ending was quite abrupt and it wrapped things up very quickly. It would have been nice to see a bit more relationship building between Doli and Sarson.
Nevertheless, this was a beautiful low stakes cosy fantasy read that had me craving baked goods all the way through.
I am looking forward to the third book ✨💕

Such a cosy, whimsical romantic read! This book has feel good vibes all the way through! Love the dash of romance and the gorgeous works of this writer!

“A fellowship of the librarian and dragon” is low stake, cosy fantasy about a librarian dwarf and her found family as they navigate a rather unique inheritance she receives from her lost uncle.
While the plot was rather minimal, I feel like the characters were, in the same fashion, barely sketched and flashed out. Which made the mood feel tremendously bland and flat. I understand the low stakes, but to write a book where nothing happens? What’s the point?
And something does happen towards the 75% mark, mind you. But again, this tiny piece of action is so brief and barely there that if you blank out for a second, you might miss it.
The premise of the romance was cute, the shortie ball of sunshine with the stoic and closed off gargoyle? Cute, right? If only it was given the proper time to develop and flashed out in a way that felt natural…
All in all the book had potential but I feel it didn’t live up to it which meant that it was an underwhelming read and one I wouldn’t honestly recommend.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the advance reader's copy of the book. Loved this book. So far I'm just loving this series. Doli is my favorite character and I love that she had her own book. Loved the dragons and the gargoyle. Love that the world building just keeps coming and it's subtle almost. Cannot wait for the next book.

Penner is a fun writer, and I enjoy her cozy fantasies! Picking up after the events of “A Fellowship of Bakers and Magic,” “A Fellowship of Librarians and Dragons” follows another baker, Doli, and she settles into Adenashire and grapples with what she’s inherited from her family, both physics goods and mental patterns. Meanwhile, mysterious gargoyle has settled in the town with a fabulous library and a helping hand for Doli.
The characters are relatable, and the recipes are divine! I enjoyed the cozy feel of the town, and the general kindness which surrounds our main characters even when not every single person is super nice. There was enough intrigued to keep me engaged, coziness overall, an excellent read with a cup of tea on a rainy day.

Oh this was fun! Absolutely the epitome of cozy fantasy! Delightful characters, engaging story. Thanks to NetGalley for a copy!

4.5 stars
Thank you to NetGalley, the publishers and the author for the e-ARC of the deluxe edition in exchange for honest review.
This book is the perfect cozy fantasy! In the first book, we met Doli, Arleta's first friend at the baking competition. By the end of book 1, Doli has decided to move to Adenashire to be with all her friends and be able to spread her wings from her judgy family and their expectations.
We find out early on in book 2, that a reclusive gargoyle, Sarson, has moved to town and there's immediate chemistry between Sarson and Doli.
Doli also receives an inheritance from her great uncle, which includes a beautiful necklace and a dragon egg! Doli is shocked when the dragon egg begins to hatch as dragons only hatch when they've met their bonded.
As an additional surprise, Doli's parents decide to make an extended visit to Adenashire to make sure their daughter is settling in okay.
Doli must navigate all these obstacles, her overbearing parents, working a new job, falling in love with Sarson while taming a baby dragon!
I just loved this story! It was incredibly sweet, fun and cozy! I loved seeing Doli come out of her shell and be able to show emotions other than happiness. I adored how her magic changed and evolved and the love story was so sweet!
I'm so excited to finish this series as they've all been sweet and lovely!

I’m so grateful to be part of the ARC team for this book!
This book is a cozy fantasy in the Adenashire series, featuring personal growth, found family, magic and romance.
I really enjoyed seeing Doli grow and develop as a person, learn to stick up for herself and develop a cute romantic relationship!
The stakes are very low in this book making it a perfect relaxing read!
I adore the characters and can’t wait for more!

A light and cozy fantasy romance with likeable characters. This is not my usual type of fantasy story but a welcome light relief after more demanding texts. Ideal for anyone who likes a light-hearted tale of fairy folk. Doli our main character is gifted a dragon egg as part of her inheritance and chaos ensues. Supported by her many friends and new love interest, Doli navigates caring for her dragon who gets into all sorts of trouble! My main reason for the 3 stars would be that I would have preferred a more in depth story without such a sudden ending. it seemed that just as Doli was getting to grips with her role as guardian to Evvy, things suddenly resolved.

Another fun and cosy read with the well loved characters of Adenashire. Easy and fun to read, this cute story will keep you entertained. Thanks #NetGalley for the ARC version.

This book is pure comfort fantasy. Doli, our sweet dwarf librarian, inherits a dragon egg and embarks on a heartwarming journey of self-discovery and magical caretaking. The village of Adenashire is filled with charming characters, and the addition of a mischievous baby dragon named Evvy adds a delightful touch. The story is low-stakes, filled with tea magic, tasty treats (recipes included!), and the kind of found family vibes that make you want to curl up with a blanket and never leave.
If you’re in the mood for a gentle, feel-good read with a touch of magic and a lot of heart, this one’s for you.

“How many times have you imagined kissing me?
“Every exquisite second since we met.”
To be back in this world again was such a delight. I have been enjoying the Adenashire books so much. They have been a "I don't want to put them down because I need to know how this ends" type stories for me. If you enjoy the simplicity of cozy fantasy this is a pretty good one to pick up. You could also realistically read this without having read the first, but I do recommend reading them in order to be more acquainted with the characters. If you don't that's also fine, there's little updates throughout the book that talks about events of book one. I cried on 3 separate occasions because I was overwhelmed by cuteness.
This book follows Doli Butterbuckle. She was one of the participants and friends of the fmc in the first book. Doli is also a dwarf with simple but unique tea magic. She can conjure tea of all types as well as some additional add ins, depending on how you like your tea. In this book Doli is dealing a bit with internal conflict. She has always been the person that loves (and still does) making other people feel better. She is "the cheery friend", but she realizes she's been kind of broody. There's so much she needs to unpack but where to start? Her uncle that she barely spoke to passed and she has to accept inheritance. That inheritance happened to be an ugly vase, a beautiful necklace, and...a dragon egg? She has to learn how to care for a dragon and to top it off her parents are coming to visit and she has less than a days notice. Her relationship has been a little strained with them since her mother doesn't approve of what she wants to do with her life. She's not like other dwarves that dream of typical dwarve things and it creates tension between her family and her. On top of all that there's a hunky gargoyle in town and suspicions are high as new people roll into town...asking questions about HER dragon.

Thank you, Poison Pen Press and J Penner, for the copy of A Fellowship of Librarians & Dragons. It was such a delight.

I had so much hope for a cute dragon fantasy, but this one didn’t quite live up to my expectations. A Fellowship of Librarians & Dragons is the second book in a series, and while it can be read on its own, I found myself wishing I had started with the first book. I think having more context might have helped me connect better with the characters and the story’s world, or at least given me something to compare it to.
The concept is really promising—quirky librarians, dragons, and a fantasy adventure setup that sounds like it should be delightful. But the execution just didn’t click for me. The pacing felt off: some parts moved too fast, while others dragged without much happening. The tone wavers between silly and serious in a way that sometimes felt disjointed rather than playful. I appreciated the originality and the occasional flashes of humor, but overall, I struggled to stay engaged.

I received an advanced reader's copy from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.
This is the second book (out of 4?) in this series. It builds on the existing world from the Fellowship of Bakers book. This one delves into Dolli's story more, and introduces her love interest- and he's a librarian! It was a quick fun read that was very much the have a cup of tea with old friends and catch up. I enjoyed it and am looking forward to book 3

A Fellowship of Librarians & Dragons isn't a book I'd typically pick up but I was fully sucked in by the cover. I thought this was a cozy story that was well written but as someone who isn't a fantasy reader, it missed the mark for me. That is 100% a me thing and I have no doubt this book will have no problem finding an audience who loves it!

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for letting me review this book. I like how this book explored other main characters and not just on Arleta. This was another fun read along with some recipes I can’t wait to try. This series has become one of my favorites.

Such a sweet book! I loved exploring the themes of found family and finding your confidence. This was such sweet cozy read! I have loved every moment of this series. How do I move to Adenashire?
Sweet baby dragons, need I say more!
If love a cozy read with a lot of fun quirky characters this book is for you.
Thank you to NetGalley, author J. Penner and Poisoned Pen Press for this digital reader’s copy of this book in exchange for my honest review!

Another amazing story in this series. Loved seeing what all the characters are up to and loved the edition of a little dragon terrorizing everyone. I wanted a little more Doli and Sarson moments to really bring their love story home and maybe a little more background on Sarson but overall another wonderful sweet cozy story.
