I loved this 2nd book in the series, it's all about Doli and her coming into herself. It is as it says a Cosy read and great for a summer holiday or relaxing while reading. The characters continue to grow and develop and we start seeing new ones some come and go and others are here to stay. A nice slow paced cozy read I would recommend and I am already on to the next.

I loved it! This follow up cozy fantasy had me loving this group of friends even more. Doli is the sweetest little dwarf and I was glad to see more of her and very happy to see her come into her own.

Thank you to Net Galley and Poisoned Pen Press for this ARC. In this book, we return to Adenshire to visit with some old friends but are also introduced to new friends. This book was sweet, cozy, and low stakes. I love that any recipes mentioned are also in the back of the book.

I am a sucker for a good library and I have always loved dragons so when I saw this book i leaped at the opportunity. I enjoyed the first book in this series but this one tugged at my heart even more.

This book contains themes of toxic family, self worth, and a found family. Doli is a ray of sunshine to all she meets wanting them to be safe and happy. The question through this book though is Doli happy with who she is and is it okay to show her friends and family when she isn’t. Add in the surprise visit and the handsome gargoyle that she just can’t stop thinking about while chasing around her new charge.

This is a great cozy read with a troupe of fun and exciting characters that just want the best for each other. Also after reading this book if anyone has a dragon egg they need hatching I am happy to assist.

Another fantastic book! I absolutely adore this series so much, it's the perfect blend of cozy, fantasy, and problem solving, all topped off with a sprinkling of adorable romance!

A Fellowship of Librarians & Dragons focuses on Doli and how she's settling in to life in Adenashire after the events of the baking contest. She's enjoying the quiet and comfortable life that she and her friends have built for themselves, but struggles greatly with self doubt, and worries a lot over knowing that this is not what her parents would want for her. Her parents are very proud dwarves and they'd love nothing more than for Doli to follow in their footsteps and work in the family gemstone business. They're sadly not very supportive of Doli's choices and the life she's making for herself, and cause a real upheaval of Doli's world when they come for a surprise visit.

Doli inherits a dragon egg from her late uncle, and while Evvy explains later in the book that she always knew Doli would be her guardian, I wish we got a bit more info on how exactly Doli's uncle came into possession of the egg, and how he knew to pass it on to her. Doli questions it quite a few times, but it's just accepted that there's no real reason for it. I assumed that Evvy influenced her uncle somehow as it is mentioned that her breed of dragon can influence people's emotions to some extent, but I'd love if that was explicitly explained in the book when it's questioned by characters.

I LOVED the storyline of Doli being a people-pleaser and learning to stand up for herself, and accepting that she doesn't always need to be bright and bubbly for her friends to still love and want to be around her. As someone that really struggles with a similar issue, this really spoke to me and I think it was portrayed very well. Her friends are all very supportive and express their love for her in really kind and understanding ways. To me it was realistic for Doli to still have doubts and take some time to accept that its okay to not be okay, but I understand why people may not like that aspect of her character if they don't also have a similar mentality about themselves.

Sarson was one of my favourite characters and I really enjoyed his addition and the romance he brought with him, it was soft and fluffy and he treats Doli with such gentleness and respect, he's a true gentleman. It was lovely!
I was expecting his big reveal to be a lot more dramatic with how much the mistrust around gargoyles was built up, though.

Evvy was ADORABLE and I loved how she was described and all the little actions she'd make. I love mental the image of this little dragon wringing it's hands, desperate for another tasty treat! I do think her storyline was resolved in quite a quick way, but I'm hoping we get to see more of her in the next books now thar her and Doli have a line of communication!

I think this was a brilliant continuation of the series and I really enjoyed getting to see Doli's POV. Certain storyline, admittedly, did feel a little rushed in their conclusions, but overall it was a really enjoyable, cozy read and I'm so excited to continue this series!

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to read and review the eARC!

Hmm.. How to begin. Firstly, this review is geared towards readers, not the author at all.

I really really really disliked this book.

Let me start from the beginning. Within the first 30% of the book, the main character received a precious gift (of being a guardian to a dragon) and proceeded to whine and cry about how she wasn't enough and had secrets every other second. Any time her friends mentioned anything contrary to her own feelings or opinion about something, she lashed out at them. She treated her friend like absolute sh*t.

Secondly. She works in a bookstore but only actually spent one day working. AND she works in a bookstore but did barely any research on her own about training her dragon, what her dragon likes, to eat, etc. The gargoyle did all the work for her.

Every other second the main character was irresponsible.

The only saving grace of this book was the gargoyle. There wasn't a plot. The ending was completely predictable (as was the villain). Just really underwhelming and boring considering this was about supernatural people and dragons.

First off, I want to thank NetGalley and J. Penner for this ecopy arc.

I just loved this cozy book. It brought all the feel-good vibes. Back to Adenashire we go this time with our sunshine dwarf Doli. To have Doli's tea magic would be fun. Doli is on an adventure to find herself but with the company of her new baby dragon. Definitely brought laughs with her care taking of the baby dragon. Overall, it was an easy cute cozy read.

Happy and kind hearted Dwarf, Doli inherits a pink dragon egg from her uncle. Before she knows it, she’s the mother to a cheeky baby dragon.

This was a cozy and quirky fantasy, filled with loveable characters in all shapes and sizes. Dwarves, ogres, elves and gargoyles, just to name a few.

I loved the journey of self discovery that Doli went through, as well as the touch of romance that she definitely deserved.

Admittedly, I haven’t read the first book in this series: A Fellowship of Bakers and Magic, so it was my first introduction to this world. I’d recommend reading that one first, but it’s not going to ruin A Fellowship of Librarians and Dragons for you, if you don’t.

I enjoyed reading this for the light hearted and low stakes fantasy that it is.

Thank you so much Netgalley and Poisoned Pen for the gifted ARC.

Following Doli as she goes on a journeyman of self discovery, finding love and friends along the way. She decides to leave her family home after the baking battle to join Arleta against her parents wishes and finds herself. A dragon egg shows up from a box her uncle gave her as part of her inheritance. Unbeknownst to her and her family! Evvy is a cute pink dragon who chose Doli years ago and hatched just for her. Such a cute fairytale type story!

A delightful continuation in the Adenashire series. Warm and cozy. Sweet, tender, emotional, and quirky. This book has a fast-paced plot with enough hijinks and shenanigans to keep readers thoroughly engaged.

The characters are a joy—very human (even when they aren't). They are well developed, each with their own distinct personalities. I adored the baby dragon! And the man character, Doli, felt particularly relevant to me. She is a people pleaser, which has always been an Achilles's heel for me. But this book teaches us how to let go of the pressure to constantly cater to other's needs and instead make room for ourselves and our own needs. It's all about the balance.

Great characters, fun plot, and uplifting subtext. This book left me smiling and ready for more Adenashire adventures!

Artwork was exquisite and beautifully drawn.

Incredibly cozy. It felt a crossover between The Pumpkin Spice Café and The Spellshop.

I hadn’t read the first book but I loved this one so much the first book is now at the top at the list of books to purchase for my TBR. Which is the highest compliment I can give it. I’m definitely excited a 3rd book is also on the way and that will also be at the top of my list to read.

The descriptive imagery was absolutely gorgeous, and the friendship between the characters was lighthearted, full of hilarity, love, and kindness.

Evvy was a delight to read about and made me wish I had the means and space to have an (hopefully kid friendly version as I’m a Mama) Evvy of my very own.

I love the bonus chapter and the magic metaphors used for Jez’s empathy and introverted personality.

A gentle and lovely read, that highlights the importance of meeting people where they are and loving them for their unique differences without judgment, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for an arc in exchange for an honest review.
A cozy, fun, hopeful book that hit a lot of great notes. A really solid start but kinda lost itself in the plot a bit by the end. It was like the book didn't know what it wanted to be. Will say i still really enjoyed reading it and will recommend, especially if you liked book one.

If you're looking for your next fun, cozy read, this is the one for you! A Fellowship of Librarians and Dragons is the second book in the series, and while it's recommended to read the first book to fully appreciate the groundwork and magic system, this installment can also be enjoyed as a standalone. The themes in this book were such a delight—full of charm and whimsy. It’s a heartwarming, low-stakes fantasy that feels like a warm hug in book form. The blend of magical libraries, dragons, and a close-knit fellowship made for an utterly enjoyable escape. I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

The beginning of this novel held a lot of promise. It seemed like Jez would be included more within the plot and I liked the introduction of gargoyles and dragons as new races. I also really liked the idea of Doli having tea magic. However, despite both gargoyles and a dragon being main characters, we learn very little of either of them the entire book. Instead we get pages and pages of Doli’s endless worrying and she is just so… boring. We learn very little of Sarson’s intriguing past or why he left his position, even though that was central to the plot and why the “villain” appears. I use the term villain loosely since he was so underwhelming and we get an anticlimactic, deus ex machina ending.

The plot is completely obfuscated by pointless and unnecessary detail. For example, every time a character appears on page, their outfit is described in painstaking detail. If there’s a group of all 6 friends together, we get a detailed description of every character in every scene. It’s overkill.

While the predecessor had its flaws, it was at least entertaining. The same can’t be said for the sequel. Overall a disappointing read and not one I would recommend. Thank you to NetGalley and Poisoned Pen Press for the ARC.

Thank you Netgalley for this ARC!

Doli Butterbuckle is living a cozy life in the town of Adenashire. She’s content and happy—until she receives an inheritance box from her uncle. Alongside some ordinary items, she finds something extraordinary. A dragon egg. To make things even more complicated, her parents show up unexpectedly. Now, Doli must juggle caring for a newborn dragon and managing surprise family visits. How will she handle it all?

I really enjoyed this book! It’s the second installment in the Adenashire series, and I loved seeing familiar characters again while getting to meet new ones. Doli is sweet, caring, and sometimes a bit hard on herself. Her personality and hobbies are very similar to mine, so I connected with her right away. I especially enjoyed her personal growth, her bond with Evvy, and her interactions with a certain adorable gargoyle.

Overall, this is a quick, fun, and cozy read—absolutely perfect for a rainy day with a hot chocolate and a comfy spot on the couch!

2.5 I really wanna give this a 3 but the ending felt rushed. This really was a cute story, but I felt like it should’ve been way shorter or the ending should’ve been written a little better so you don’t just feel like oh yeah I already knew that was gonna happen. We follow a dwarf named Doli who loves to bake. We get introduced to her friends, her parents, a new love interest, and a dragon egg she has inherited that has begun to hatch. We follow her journey as she deals with the everyday responsibilities of life and also figuring out how she is gonna take care of a dragon as a dwarf. Like I said, very cute story but a cute story stills needs an ending that makes it worthwhile. I loved reading about the pastries and the baking scenes but I felt like it was over half the book and then we finally get something happening in the last two chapters. As always, thank you Poisoned Pen Press for the earc.

A wonderful read!
This novel drew me in from the very first page and kept me hooked until the end. The characters were vibrant and relatable, the writing was engaging, and the story had just the right balance of heart and humor. Highly recommend!
Many thanks to NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for my ARC. All opinions are my own.

Imagine sitting in your reading chair, while it’s autumn and raining outside. You look out your window, have some homemade cookies and some tea next to you. (Cookie recipe included btw).
If you imagined that you are in the perfect mood for that book. It’s such a cozy little fantasy, I really enjoyed reading it.
We have many mythical creatures, their daily struggles and family issues. Everything combined with a baby dragon that’s, well, best described as behaving like a toddler with ADHD- after eating all the above mentioned cookies.
I smiled a lot during reading and I absolutely recommend this book to everyone that just wants to relax and is looking for a book that’s cozy, easy to understand and is still talking about topics that everyone of us might have struggled with before.

Get the book and read it- maybe really during some nice day in autumn

Thanks to Netgalley and Poisoned pen press for the eARC!

3.5 star read. Loved the story of this book, it hooked me in about 15% into it. Really enjoy J Penner's writing style and the characters in this book

Thank you to Netgalley and Poisoned Pen Press for the ARC! I adored the first book in this series and was thrilled to return to this charming world. Doli’s story resonated with me in unexpected ways, her people-pleasing tendencies and quiet struggle to set boundaries felt deeply relatable. J. Penner captures her character’s quirks and vulnerabilities with warmth. I did find myself wishing for a bit more depth in how those emotional threads were explored and where they came from, such as with Doli’s love interest and his backstory. However, overall the prose is gentle and accessible and suits the story’s cozy tone. A lovely, quick, and thoroughly enjoyable read!
