This book is full of mystery, drama, a cold case, a serial killer, romance and so much more. Park ranger Aaliyah Terrence never expected to find human remains in the wilderness, Cold case detective Wade Marlowe was not expecting his case to have this turn of events take place. Wade and Aaliyah must work together to solve the case and keep her alive all while tying to find the killers identity. The characters and the book are well developed and take you on some intense journeys. I enjoyed getting to know Aaliyah and Wade. I was given a copy of this book for my honest opinion.

Definitely a 5 star must read. This book kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. Lots of suspense and lots of twists and turns. If you haven't read this you should.

4.5⭐️s. Really great suspense with an underlying romance. The characters were all excellently written, from Wade and Aaliyah to the villain and the side characters. Sometimes in suspense you have a lot of eye roll moments at the dialogue or decision making and I didn’t feel any of that.
It wasn’t super unpredictable, but there was enough action and lead-in that it didn’t feel disappointing. My only wish with the book is that it was longer and had a just a little more character/story development. It just felt short and really fast.
Well written and I really enjoyed it. I love the rest of Ms Wrights books that I’ve read so far and I’m looking forward from more in this genre from her.
Thanks the Netgalley for the advanced copy of this book. All opinions are mine.

I always enjoy a love inspired suspense novel, but this one wasn’t my favorite. I never really got the connection between the love interests. However, the mystery/suspense part was spot on!
Thank you to Harlequin - Romance for providing this book for review consideration via NetGalley.

This book will get your attention from the first page when Aaliyah Terrence's dog finds human bones. From there it is one major whirlwind of everything that can go wrong, does. She is a park ranger in the Montana Bob Marshall Wilderness, which has been her home and safe place until now. Also just coming into town is Wade Marlowe, who is looking into a cold case. How does Aaliyah finding them bones have to do with the attacks on her? Is the cold case and the discovery of the other remains related? Is it the work of a serial killer and if so, is the killer local or have they left town? You will connect to some of the characters like this neighbor who is described as- "The dear man had good intentions but was as nosey as a hound in a prairie dog hole and twice as assertive." I have a couple of neighbors like that myself. I also loved how the author touched on adoption and how people feels. I want to thank the publisher and Netgalley for an early version of this book. All opinions expressed are my thoughts on the book.

I've read many full-length novels by this author. I own all of them. This is her first Love-Inspired Suspense book. She is one of my favourite authors so I had to read it. I have such respect for those who take on cold cases so the premise of this book intrigued me.
Aaliyah is the female main character. She is a Park Ranger with a loyal Black Labrador dog. She has wonderful adoptive parents, a godfather, and she works with her godfather's brother. She loves her job. The story opens with her on duty and her dog finds a human skull. She spots a grave and an arrowhead bracelet only to be pistol-whipped. When she awakes, the bracelet is gone. She gets help and the event connects to a cold case.
Wade, the cold case detective, has struggled with the loss of his sister, who was murdered. He felt he made a poor choice and didn't protect her when she needed it most. He finds himself drawn to Aaliyah despite getting off to a very rocky start.
The investigation into the cold case brings shocking revelations and danger to them both. Together they learn to lean on one another. The sparks fly and they're drawn together. However, they both still battle insecurities and discover what protection and belonging truly mean, and the One it comes from.
I enjoyed this cold case mystery with the many personal and professional layers to this story. I really appreciated the themes of protection and belonging -- and especially the Source.
*** Huge thanks to Love Inspired Suspense and Net Galley for an advanced copy of this book. My review is voluntary, honest, and in my own words.

“She wasn’t supposed to find human bones in the wilderness.”
“Marlowe. Detective Wade Marlowe.”
“Wherever she went, he was going to find her. The Arrowhead Killer. Somehow—some way—he had assumed a connection to her.”
Apparently Jaime Jo Wright can write both dual timeline gothic thrillers AND love inspired suspense books! I recently finished Tempest At Annabel’s Lighthouse by Jaime Jo Wright (and loved it!) and also loved this one, Buried Wilderness Secrets. It hooks you from the beginning and never lets up. I have read several Love Inspired Suspense books, some good and some not so much - the ones not too much were because they felt cheesy and not well written. Buried Wilderness Secrets is very well written and feels realistic. And I enjoyed reading a single timeline book by Jaime Jo Wright.
As far as characters and setting, this one is great. Aaliyah Terrance is a strong lead character who is adopted and discovers human bones. The best part about how Wright wrote her character was that she wasn’t making stupid decisions which is a usual trope of these kinds of books. And then there was Detective Wade Marlowe. As a male reader, I loved and identified with this character. And the fact that we share the name Wade made it even cooler! The book is set in Montana and the Bob Marshall Wilderness and I thought that added a lot to the story.
As far as the mystery was concerned, I figured out most of it pretty easily; however, that didn’t stop my enjoyment as I enjoyed reading how it all came together.
I received an advanced copy from Netgalley and the opinions expressed in this review are my own.

I wanted to give this one a shot because I’m always interested in a suspense story featuring a serial killer. I found that this story lacked the intensity and suspense that I was looking for. I did not enjoy the heroine Aaliyah. She was too emotional and lacked common sense. She hid things which were important to the case, she was skeptical and rude to the one person trying to help her and her insistence on taking care of herself was humorous given that on multiple instances she was attacked. The story pacing was slow and it seemed like we were more interested in Aaliyah’s adoption details than actually hunting down a serial killer. I ultimately gave up on this book about halfway because it just wasn’t peaking my interest.

I am a big Jamie Jo Wright fan and so I was thrilled to discover she wrote another book! While this story is a pretty quick read, Wright did an excellent job of capturing my attention and creating a believable plot with character growth!! Amazing! I love the outdoors so I really enjoyed the setting and sleuthing with Aaliyah and Wade as they looked into murders from years past. There is an adoption story line that really tugged at my heart and is so well written. Things from our past can pop up when we least expect it and it can take a bit to feel steady again. But God. Amazing. There is a sweet romance but it certainly didn't overtake the book and just added some sweetness for two lonely people. Overall, I really enjoyed this suspense read and it had me on the edge of my seat many times.
Four Stars.
"I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. I was not required to write a positive review."

I am a general fan of Jaime Jo Wright and her typical dual timeline gothic horror esque Christian stories. This was not that!
The story was fast paced and kept me involved. There was some faith content that became stronger towards the end as you saw the parallels with how Aaliyah's situation reflected the Christian faith.
The characters and the story kept moving- they weren't so deep you got lost but it was a substantial plot.
Overall probably a 3.75 rounded up to 4 stars. Would recommend this to others searching for a Christian suspense book.
Thank you to Net Galley and the author for a free ARC in exchange for an honest review. all opinions are my own.

"Buried Wilderness Secrets" is a Christian romantic suspense. Wade once had an argument with his sister, and she was murdered that night after going off to be alone. Now he'll always go after a woman who's upset with him to make sure she's safe. Aaliyah was abandoned by her mother and, though she has wonderful adoptive parents, she's taken a DNA test to see if she can connect with her biological family. Wade now knows the identity of a cold case victim. Aaliyah's extremely upset to learn that her mother was that old, local murder case that was never solved. It didn't help that she had just stumbled upon a serial killer's graveyard, which may be linked to her mother's case.
Aaliyah said hurtful things to Wade and refused to talk with her family to punish them for not handling things the way she believed they should have. She often needed rescue and protection, but happily her super-talented dog was there to help and Wade always came after her to save her. I guess Wade liked being the rescuer because I can't quite understand why he was romantically attracted to her. On her side, she loved that he never abandoned her. Anyway, the main characters were generally likable and reacted realistically to events. The suspense was created by ongoing attacks on Aaliyah. The mystery was a clue-based puzzle, though I guessed whodunit long before Aaliyah was captured by him.
There was no sex or bad language. Overall, I'd recommend this interesting romantic suspense.

An amazing cold case story from the phenomenal Jaime Jo Wright, who is branching out into the Love Inspired Suspense universe. You will love this. It is a page turner from cover to cover.
I received an advanced reader’s copy from Harlequin and Netgalley. All opinions are my own.

Buried Wilderness Secrets by Jaime Jo Wright is a romantic Christian mystery/thriller. It started off on an intriguing note and kept me engrossed throughout. I also loved the romantic buildup. The twists at the end were interesting. Good read overall.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest opinion, Jaime Jo Wright has fast become one of my favorite authors and I own all of the books she's written. This was different from her other books but I found the mystery and suspense was very good. I thought I had the mystery solved but was surprised at the ending. 4.5 stars.

Aaliyah Terrence, is a park ranger who teams up with Wade Marlowe, a cold case detective to investigate graves she found in the wilderness. The characters are well developed and the murder was not obvious. In the future I plan to read more titles from this author. The opinions expressed in this review are mine.

"Uncovering cold case secrets could be deadly…"
Buried Wilderness Secrets is about a park ranger who discovers a serial killer's burial ground and, of course, she had help from her dog, but the catch is that she almost dosen't escape when the killer returns since he had to grab something he left behind. I was captivated from the start and could not stop turning pages until the very end. The author wrote this so well and I can not wait to read more books from this author. All of the characters were great in this and it kept me guessing until the end. I highly enjoyed this one and would recommend to any reader who likes romance suspense or Christian fiction with suspense. Thank you to NetGalley and Harlequin-Romance/ Love Inspired Suspense for this ARC read in exchange of my honest review of Buried Wilderness Secrets by Jaime Jo Wright.

Another book that I didn't want to see end.
Jaime Jo Wright has proved that she can write anything! I was so happy to see this one that I quickly grabbed it.
All the action in this story made me sit on the edge of my seat. Fantastic is all I can say.
Fast paced from the beginning until end. I really loved the mystery this book had to offer. Some it made me stop to realize that people aren't always what they seem.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I always enjoy her books to the fullest.
Wonderful characters that I really liked. And a fantastic plot. Who wouldn't love this story!
5 stars for a job well done. I highly recommend.
My thanks for a copy of this book. I was NOT required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are mine

Ooh, JJW has broken out of her historical fiction element and aced the mystery/suspense genre! I really enjoyed reading her writing sticking with just one timeline. Unfortunately, I did figure out the bad guy, which is always a bit of a letdown for me (haha, I WANT to be fooled) but I enjoyed the story, especially all the adoption bits which I think were done very well. As always, I can't wait to read more from JJW!

I always enjoy this author's writing, so it was easy to dive into her latest novel. Aaliyah Terence, a park ranger, stumbles across a serial killer’s burial ground—with the help of her loyal dog—and narrowly escapes when the killer returns to retrieve something he left behind.
Cold case detective Wade arrives in town just as the graves are discovered, and it quickly becomes clear that his investigation is connected. The past and present collide, secrets begin to unfold, and what started as a rocky first impression between Aaliyah and Wade shifts when she becomes a target. Wade finds himself juggling the pressure of solving the case while also trying to keep her safe.
I had a few theories as I read—some were right, some weren’t—which kept the mystery engaging.
If you enjoy suspenseful Christian fiction with a strong thread of mystery, this one’s worth picking up.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC and the opportunity to post an honest review

A lovely story about Aaliyah Terrence, a park ranger in the Montana wilderness and Wade Marlowe, a cold case detective who together investigate graves found in a favorite park location. Well-developed characters and a plot that keeps the reader guessing…would certainly enjoy reading about their future. I received an ARC from NetGalley, and the opinions expressed are my own.
