Once again, Holly Jackson proves that she excels at anything she writes. I devoured this thriller in a few sittings because I just could not put it down. The premise of this story is so unique and compelling as we follow Jet as she tries to piece together her own murder.
I loved how the characters are so complex and I couldn’t help but try to piece this mystery together alongside Jet. It was fast-paced with an ending I didn’t see coming! This was simply brilliant.
Thank you Penguin Random House and Netgalley for the opportunity to read this e-arc💕

Ooh, I am HAPPY that Holly Jackson is getting into adult thrillers! I read this in one sitting on an overnight train. Everything was really well-done and the ending made me CRY!! The plot was compelling, great fleshed-out characters and I didn't guess ANY of the twists.
I did find the MC a bit grating, but not in an unreadable way - that's really my only criticism!

I'm not entirely sure if the e-book format was the problem, or if the book was the problem, but I feel like this was so not up to par with Jacksons other books? I have loved reading all of her mysteries, and was so excited for Holly's adult debut, but this read confusingly YA, the protagonist was kind of annoying, and I was 43% into the book and I felt like nothing was really happening, and I was having a really hard time differentiating all of the side characters. I think I will attempt to re-read this either physically or in audio format once this actually comes out.

The plot of thos book was so unique to me, having to solve your own (attempted) murder while being alove is an interesting concept but Holly pulled it off and pulled it off well.
A must read!

First of all THANK YOU so much for the gifted copy; this is an auto read author for me, I love her work, and therefore was thrilled to receive this prior to release date!!
Holly Jackson has a fantastic way of giving you an every day character who is full of complexities and somehow goes from amateur detective to professional sleuth through sheer will and determination and a drive to not give up until justice is served which the police just never seem to have.
“Jet” has a week to solve her own murder. Yep you read that right. After receiving several blows to the head during her attempted murder, the doctors diagnose her with a week until her injuries cause a huge aneurysm that will leave her dead, and she is determined to use that time to catch her killer.
She teams up with her childhood friend Billy, and god love Billy.. he is absolutely everything and I just want to give him a huge hug because he is so lovable and honestly an amazing human.
As always there is a long pool of suspects, a lot of secrets that come out and a surprise twist at the end.
I’m going to be real and say it took me a minute to get into this book, the beginning although a lot was happening just had a slow feel to it, but there was a turning point for me where everything clicked and I was obsessed. By the end Jet and Billy left a huge imprint on my heart and I will think about them for a LONG time to come. It makes me want to tear up just thinking about it and Holly, I’m so mad at you and you know why!! But also thank you for giving us these characters and a message that means a lot to me **crying**
Without giving away spoilers I do suggest you read this book for yourself and say you’re missing out on something special if you don’t. (I’m gonna go cry in the corner now)
All the stars!
