Jenny Cooper Has a Secret by Joy Fielding is a compelling read that kept me virtually flying through the pages from beginning to end. It has been far too long since I have indulged in Ms Fielding's brilliant writing, and this latest was a highly anticipated treat that fully delivered.

Linda Davidson is a lonely seventy-six year old widow whose daughter and son-in-law are living with her. Fed up with their constant bickering, she finds herself visiting regularly with the eccentric Jenny Cooper, a ninety-three year old woman she meets while visiting another friend in a memory care facility. As Jenny makes wild claims about the men that she has killed in the past, Linda begins to question just how credible, and possibly dangerous, her new friend is, given her age and dementia diagnosis.

Ms Fielding has cleverly woven together several storylines, each one as intriguing as the next. This is a quick, satisfying read that promises to keep you fully engaged and unwilling to put it down. 4.5 stars

Many thanks to NetGalley and Penguin Random House Canada for an ARC.

An easy read with multiple stories intertwined that keep the story moving, though it’s a bit predictable. The author wraps up all the loose ends, offering a satisfying conclusion. I did wish Jenny had confessed a little bit more. Overall, a solid mystery for casual readers

This was a phenomenal thriller. Linda was an intriguing main character and I liked that there was more to her than meets the eye. Jenny Cooper was so engaging and I found myself desperate to hear more about her life - I also thought that the element of her living in a memory care facility and having dementia adding an interesting element to the story.
