Love on a Bookshelf is such a cozy, heartwarming romance that instantly pulled me in. Clarrie’s trying her best to save her grandma’s bookshop while life keeps throwing curveballs her way. Then Declan, a bestselling author with a cocky streak, crashes into her world in the most awkward way possible. Their slow-burn, enemies-to-friends-to-something-more story is full of witty banter and sweet moments that feel real.

I loved the bookshop vibe and all the quirky side characters like Jed and Bri, they add so much charm and warmth. The pace is a bit slow sometimes, but the humor and emotional depth kept me hooked. If you’re into gentle romances with clever dialogue and a little bit of sass, this is definitely one to pick up!

I thought this was a quick, average read for me. There were definitely parts I liked, the side characters, talking about the bookstore, and Clarrie fighting for her true dream. But because it was quick, the romance fell a little flat for me. It took a long time for me to really see any chemistry between Clarrie and Declan especially because they had one short interaction that prompted the moment that kicks off the whole thing. It was just hard for me to understand what it was about each other that made them work together. Also, all the really big problems came to a head in the last ten percent and it felt like things were set up and then resolved a little too quickly. But if I look past those things, I did enjoy Clarrie's love for her grandmother and there were some surprises at the end of the book that I did enjoy seeing and that I thought were quite clever.

This was a really cute and fun read - I loved the chemistry between Declan and Clarrie. Clarrie was a really great character to follow as well, throughout the book her growth was definitely worth the grumpiness we got at the very beginning.

Overall, I thought that this was an enjoyable read but I felt like it was lacking a bit in the development of the romantic elements of the story. There were some really bright spots in the chemistry between Declan and Clarrie but it never felt to me like there were any deeper feelings until suddenly there were. The growth of Clarrie was great and well rounded and I loved how she found herself and what she wanted by the end of it.

This was so sweet! I just love books about books and this didn't disappoint! Declan and Clarence were so fun together and the banter was on point! This is another great closed door romance for those who don't want spice! The e-book was just released and the physical copy for the US will be released early next year and I can't wait to get a physical copy! Thank you to NetGalley and to the publisher for my digital ARC!!

Love on a Bookshelf is a standalone novel and who could resist a cosy romance set in a bookshop with the two main characters being the book shop owner and a best selling author?

Clarrie inherited the bookshop from her grandmother and has fond memories of her times there as a child but owning the bookshop isn’t as much fun as it was visiting it in the past, with lots of bills to pay and lots of problems to solve. Clarrie gets to the point where she might have to sell the shop and give up on her dreams.

Clarrie has an encounter in the shop with Declan Archer, an author, and suggests that he should write a better book than his previous effort and from that point forward their relationship is a feisty one. When his publisher suggests that Clarrie accompanies him as the book seller on his book tour, she can’t think of anything she’d rather avoid, but maybe it’s worth it if it will pay the bills.

This was a quick to read fab romance with great characters and the prefect setting for a book. Loved it!

Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this book.

Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and author for this ARC.

Books about books are always a unique experience. This one was no different.

I throughly enjoyed this. I loved it even! This was such a good slow burn, I was aching for them to touch in any way possible and then when they did it was magical.

This was so cozy. The entire time you are immersed in this book, you are surrounded by books, bookstores, and the outdoors. It was fun to read! With this being said, however, the book still explores some heavier topics. Thomas did a great job navigating the topic of dementia.

I wouldn’t really this enemies-to-lovers, maybe just dislike-to-lovers.

I enjoyed this. It was a fast paced fun romance with some heavier topics scattered throughout. I liked Clarrie and Declans relationship going from two people who have such dislike for each other to them opening up to one another and supporting each other. I need a book about Jed and Bri now though. Highly recommend

It’s cute. A short read. Torn between 3-4. I want to give 4 because I def recommend buying it if it calls your attention… but it also felt both a bit too fast and a bit too slow at times. Def keep in mind that dementia is mentioned in the book etc so if you rather not read that then this one isn’t for you!

It's like Shop Around the Corner or You Got Mail...but not. Clarrie and Declan's chemistry is enemies to lovers which isn't my favorite trope, but the relationship really came out of nowhere. This was a really fast read, but it just wasn't memorable for me which is why I rated it as such. For fans of books with no spice, this will definitely be a book for you!

Thank you to NetGalley and Headline for the e-ARC in exchange for an honest review.

3/5 ⭐ | Bookshops, banter, and a little spark
A cozy, slow-burn romance with a charming premise, a sassy bookseller inspires a bestselling author?! Loved the setting and the bookish nods, but the pacing felt a bit slow and some emotional depth was missing. Still, a warm, rainy-day kind of read. 📚💛

Thank you NetGalley and Kiah Thomas for allowing me to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is what you call a proper bookish romantic read with sizzling chemistry and witty banter. I ate this up! The main characters back and forth was hilarious and I adored watching their chemistry boil! It was hilarious and also had me kicking my feet reading their romance boil over.

Overall, I would highly recommend this book on to others. I am also planning to add this review to my instagram as well, just currently working on the graphics for this too.

A heartwarming, bookish romance that’s impossible not to love.

Love in a Bookshelf is sweet, emotional, and full of charm. Keah Tomas captures the quiet magic of falling for someone when you least expect it. The characters feel real and relatable, and the bookstore setting adds a cozy touch. While there’s not much spice, the emotional depth and slow-burn connection make it a truly satisfying read. Perfect for romance lovers who enjoy tender, low-steam stories.
