4.5 stars! A really liked the message this book is getting across, lots of different ways to show kindness and how we can promote kindness behaviours, which is very important to teach from a young age.
I read this to my 4 year old, who was engaged throughout the book, she loved the bright pictures and pointed out all the things that interested her, for example, she excitedly pointed to the children hugging and used that to talk about ways she shows she cares.
I liked that it included kindness as giving back to others. The diversity is well promoted and nice for children to be able to find themselves within the pages.
Finally, we used the prompts at the end to open up a lovely discussion, a nice addition to the end of the book.
I read this book through NetGalley, thank you for providing the e-arc

Bright and cheerful illustrations radiate kindness from every page, making this book feel like a sunshine beam straight to the soul. It’s a simple but powerful reminder that compassion is a superpower—and it looks really good in crayon.

Great story about being kind to others. There is great representation throughout the story through the illustrations. The rhyming is great and helps the story flow. The end also has some great questions you can discuss with your child or class about the story.

What a great way to build awareness and start a conversation with young readers about kindness. Love it!! The discussion questions on the back of the book are terrific.
The illustrations are bright crisp and attention grabbing . Perfect for little readers to focus on.
I love the diversity throughout the images in the book. You are sure to FIND yourself in this book.
Thank you to NetGalley for the advanced reader copy.

This lovely book teaches the value and importance of being polite and spreading kindness to all whom we meet. As young babies grow and mature into toddlers and then preschool age children, they tend to encounter so many new children and adults. With so many people of so many backgrounds and personality types it is so easily to fall into quarrels and disputes-- UNLESS one knows how to properly behave and interact with others in a kind and respectful way.
Parents will adore reading this children's picture books to their own children. Daycare administrators should have this book on a prominent place on their desks and on their nursery room bookshelves. With rhyming prose and colorful illustrations, this book is a valuable reminder of the importance of greeting and interacting with others with kindness.

What If We Were All Kind! is a book that reminds children (and adults) that we should simply be nice. It embraces diversity with illustrations showcasing variations in race, ethnicity, and physical abilities. My students liked the rhyming and that the illustrations had people that did not all look the same. The book mentions using kind words, helping others, and donating to charity.
The only thing about this book that I did not like, is the line, "No more anger, no more fight", as it does not flow with how we typically speak.
This book was published on 04/01/2025. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book provided by the publisher via NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

We may need to add this one to our physical collection! I loved the rhyming and cadence - a perfect book to read aloud. Wonderful messaging and amazing representation in the illustrations. There are just enough challenge words to help grow vocabulary without being incomprehensible for the younger spectrum of readers.
One critique: there is a line about "sisters and brothers," I feel like this could be swapped for something else to make it relatable for only children.

Wonderful children’s book that appropriately discusses kindness and the different ways it can look. I read this with my 4 year old daughter who was engaged the entire time. The rhyming and different examples of how we can be kind and why we should be kind, was really well done!
Thank you Purple Diamond Press Inc and Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA) for providing an ARC of this book via NetGalley for review consideration. All opinions are my own.

"What If We Were All Kind!" is a sweet book that encourages kids to be kind to everyone and especially themselves. I like this series of social-emotional learning books that teach kids powerful skills to be happy and successful in life.

Cost to be kind: Just making the choice
The world can always use more kindness and this book exemplifies the importance of how we treat one another.
The illustrations showed a comparison of the two different choices, without and with kindness. The pictures were great snippets of moments.
This book would make a great part of a lesson for a classroom setting.

I love the message behind this book! Yes, it's a children's book and is aimed at that audience, I do think that more adults could learn from it.
I loved the representation of all different people from a variety of backgrounds & abilities.
The artwork is also gorgeous!

This was such a positive, cute book that has a great message for all of us, young and old. The illustrations were well done, and I liked that the reader is given more specific examples of how to be kind in different situations. I also appreciated the extra discussion questions at the end to keep the kindness conversations going.

Great message! This is a book everyone should read. It has a great message and I love the illustrations.

It costs absolutely nothing to be kind to others, and What If We Were All Kind! serves as a gentle reminder of that simple truth. This short and sweet book, with its beautiful illustrations and thoughtful questions at the end, offers a wonderful opportunity to engage young readers in meaningful conversations about kindness.
A huge thank you to NetGalley and Purple Diamond Press Inc. for providing this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is a cute book about being kind to all. It give specific scenarios. It seems a little bit unrealistic for people who are raising multiple children. I would appreciate more depth to this book.

A wonderful book for understanding the word "kind" and its impact on the environment, as well as clear examples of how one can be kinder to others — whether peers, animals, plants, or adults. The book shows that kind has no boundaries and includes illustrative examples. At the end, there are discussion questions.

The first few pages of this book felt a little generic, but I ended up loving the more detailed approach it took. Many children books talk about being kind, but I’ve found that unless specific examples are included, it mostly goes over my kids’ heads. I really liked the discussion questions at the end.
I loved the subtle inclusion in the illustrations, without having to make it a big emphasis within the story. It was a beautifully illustrated book.

Such a positive message! We have the different ways throughout the story multiple children deal with spreading kindness to their peers . Each child has a unique scenario where they each learn the benefits of being kind. It is my most humble opinion that even older children can benefit from this book as it has information all children would need in today’s society. An excellent read for sure!

Adorable picture book defining kindness in multiple way. Great illustrations with actions showing kindness and diverse characters throughout the book. Perfect for any classroom to have in their library.

Right off the bat, I want to make a little note about the title of this book. It bothers me just a *little* bit that the title ends with an exclamation point and not a question mark (which would be correct). This is a really tiny thing, but worth noting!
Now, as for the book itself: bravo!! I think that what this book aims to do is shown clearly and in a rather beautiful way. The author preaches kindness and highlights that it isn't hard to do at all. Kids are a highly impressionable audience, and getting a really good message of kindness in their minds sooner rather than later is so, SO important. Lastly, the illustrations were clearly very well-thought-out and they showed the numerous different ways that kindness can be seen or shown in everyday life. I have literally nothing bad to say about this book, and I think that *every* kid should read this book!
