The Gingerbread Monster by Dan Gemeinhart. This story of Frank N. Stine, a silly monster, make a gingerbread monster, but when the monster came to life what will happen. It delivers a great message about friendship and is the perfect length for early readers. I can't wait to reread this with my children thank you to MacMillan Audio and NetGalley for this Advanced listener copy in exchange for my honest review releases July 8th 2025.

Adorable! My son loved listening to this. YA storytelling at its best! Clever and cute with an important message. I even thought the names were clever.
Frank N Stine is the MMC and lives to create things. One day he creates something crazy and the rest is history.
The narrator of this book did a great job. Even tone, great intonation and a reasonable pace. I still speed them to 1.5x.
I would definitely read more from this author.

This was a book that made me laugh. Loved the narrator that did this book. I’m going to buy this book to read to my grand baby.

The Gingerbread Monster by Dan Gemeinhart, illustrated by Hugo L. Cuellar:
The Gingerbread Monster is a fun combination of Frankenstein and the Gingerbread Man.
The story is about a young scientist named Frank N. Stine, who has a happy accident and creates a gingerbread monster while attempting to satisfy his sweet tooth. As Frank tries to escape from the cookie creation, a chase involving villagers and whimsical creatures takes place. The rhyming narrative and creative story telling immediately captures the listener's attention.
This book stands out for its message of acceptance and friendship. Frank learns that a scary monster may just want a friend. This theme encourages young readers to look beyond first appearances. The included gingerbread recipe with ideas to make your own monster cookie, this adds a fun interactive element. I would like to extend my gratitude to NetGalley for providing this Advance Reader Copy (ARC). I am pleased to add this book to my collection and would rate it a solid 4.5 stars.

What an entertaining way to introduce kids to the stories of Frankenstein and The Gingerbread Man in one book! I loved the remixing of these stories into its own unique story.

We love this short but sweet book. The storyline of Frankenstein redone was really fun and my little humans really enjoyed it! The recipe at the end was also really fun and the narrator did a fabulous job and making it fun and entertaining even though it was super short.

Thank you NetGalley for an audio eARC.
This is a cute children's story about being a friend and that everyone needs friends, even gingerbread monsters. The narrator was good, but maybe a little too good- he made the voice quite creepy at times. Altogether the book has a great message for children and it does the messaging in an adorable way. I also love the way the author includes a recipe for gingerbread cookies at the end of the book.

The Gingerbread Monster is a fun and spoopy tale of when baking and science go wrong. But the good kind of wrong.
I received an advanced audiobook from Macmillan Young Listeners, narrated by Fred Berman.
Berman has brought Gemeinhart's frankensteinian tale to life. His performance was theatrical and engaging. I especially liked the added music and background noises. My little monsters (6 and 4) also enjoyed it. We'll be ordering a physical copy!
Thanks to NetGalley and Macmillan Young Listeners for the advanced audiobook!

The Gingerbread Monster, written by Dan Gemeinhart and narrated by Fred Berman is a spooky book perfect for the fall or winter holidays! Frank N. And is there a moral to this story about friendship and kindness?
I really enjoyed this book! I think it is the perfect length for little readers, and will definitely be enjoyed by fun loving little ones. I also enjoy the message behind the book, and can't wait to share this with my preschool friends!
Thank you to NetGalley and to the author, publisher, and narrator of this book for an ALC in exchange for an honest review.

This is a cute story that isn’t too spooky, and it a fun take on the original Gingerbread Man story. The sound effects in the audiobook were fun without being scary, and the voices are well done. For books like this, I wish the images were included too, so kids can follow along.

This was a fun audiobook to listen to with my five year old son. The narration was great and really brought the story to life. I enjoyed the addition of music too. My son said the music was very spooky. The story was cute and I enjoyed the gingerbread monster. My son thought it was funny! Definitely a cute book to listen to!

Thank you Macmillan Audio, Macmillan Young Listeners, and NetGalley for the advanced electronic audio review copy of this delightfully spooky rhyming book. Frank N. Stine is a baker whose frightening gingerbread cookie creation comes to life due to an experiment gone wrong. But even a monster longs for a friend, and in the midst of a chase, Frank realizes what his monstrous creation truly craves. This book is loads of fun and even includes a recipe for gingerbread cookies at the end. Can’t wait to share it with my students and to try out the recipe.

Cute little Halloween story. The narration is amazing. It really sets the mood. This will be a hit with kids. Fun recipe at the back as well

This is my favorite new thing in forever. I've already promised myself I'm going to listen to it every day this weekend. The language, the story, the special effects -- this is so entertaining and hilarious and the narration is so enthusiastic. I've always found stories about The Gingerbread Man funny and this is so wonderfully over the top.
Thanks so much to NetGalley for letting me listen to this audiobook
