Oh My God!!!
What have I just read. I’m in love with every single one of these characters. This is how you write a compelling book that grips you from page 1 till the end and still wanting more…
There was such a perfect balance between the emotions and the plot that I was both sobbing at the next moment blushing!
I cannot wait for the next sequel. Also what a wonderful job done by JenniferHiigins for translating this into English! It felt effortless!

Thankyou #Netgalley for providing an arc l really hope to read the next one soon. 🤞🏼

This was a decent book that I had a fun time reading. I liked how unique that characters were and the flow of the story. I wouldn’t say the romance was all that compelling but it was still nice. I wish the characters were honest with each other sooner rather than holding out for so long but it was an okay read. 3.5 stars

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the arc

🎴 A High-Stakes Romance That Keeps You on the Edge of Your Seat

I picked up Ace of Hearts by Morgane Moncomble with high expectations, and let me tell you, it did not disappoint. From the very first page, I was drawn into a world where poker isn't just a game—it's a metaphor for life, love, and the risks we're willing to take.

🃏 Plot & Setting: A Thrilling Backdrop

Set in the neon-lit streets of Las Vegas, the story follows Rose and Levi, two individuals with their own secrets and scars. Rose, a talented poker player with a troubled past, and Levi, a professional gambler with a mission, team up for a high-stakes tournament. What starts as a strategic partnership soon blurs the lines between deception and genuine connection.

The poker scenes are intense and well-written, making even a novice like me feel the tension of the game. The stakes aren't just about money; they're about trust, vulnerability, and the choices that define us.

❤️ Characters: Complex and Compelling

Levi is the kind of character you can't help but root for. His depth, vulnerability, and growth throughout the story are beautifully portrayed. Rose, on the other hand, is a bit more complex. Initially, I found her hard to connect with, but as the story progressed, I understood her better and appreciated her strength and resilience.

Their chemistry is undeniable. The slow-burn romance between them is filled with tension, banter, and moments that made my heart race. It's the kind of relationship that builds gradually, making every touch and glance feel significant.

🎭 Themes: Love, Lies, and Redemption

At its core, Ace of Hearts is about the games we play—not just at the poker table, but in our relationships and with ourselves. The themes of trust, redemption, and the consequences of our actions are explored in a way that's both engaging and thought-provoking.

The plot twists kept me on my toes. Just when I thought I had it figured out, Moncomble threw in a curveball that left me gasping. The pacing is spot-on, with each chapter building on the last, leading to a climax that was both satisfying and emotionally resonant.

🌟 Final Thoughts

While I thoroughly enjoyed the book, I did find a few moments where the pacing lagged slightly, and some of the secondary characters could have been more fleshed out. However, these are minor critiques in an otherwise captivating story.

The concept of the book was really good but i really struggled to get into it. there was lots of in depth knowledge about poker, and as someone who has never played poker before i struggled to keep up. there was definitely chemistry between the characters, it was just the amount of poker jargon used became very confusing. however if you love or just understand poker better than i do you will find this book super enjoyable.
