This book was so hard to put down! I really enjoyed it—the romance, the plot, the overall feel, everything. The characters, especially Rose, were great, and their funny conversations had me hooked. I didn’t see a lot of the twists coming, which made it even better.
It did slow down a bit near the end, but it didn’t make the book any less enjoyable. This was my first book by this author, and I loved it more than I expected. Can’t wait to read more from her!

Loved this! It gave me the perfect grumpy and happy couple along with some really cool twists and turns throughout!
Really hoping that there'll be more books coming soon

A romance that takes place at the World Series of Poker? As an avid reader and poker player, this book could not have been anymore perfect for me! If you like enemies/rivals to lovers, and a what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas vibe, you will enjoy this book. If you know anything about poker, AND you enjoy the tropes already listed, you will LOVE this book. PLEASE translate more of Morgane's books into English !! I will be first in line to read them. Thank you to Netgalley and Amazon crossing for providing me with this ARC.

This story kept me hooked with its emotional depth and the complexity of its characters. I finished feeling both breathless and utterly satisfied.

I loved this book, I read it in one sitting! I'm so sad it's over!
This book had me feel so many emotions. And the twists I didn't see coming!
This book is a standalone but I wouldn't mind if the author decided to write more from this found family group!... The ending was like a big hug but also a sad goodbye to these characters. So Good!!!

Picked up this book because of the blurb with the thought it was about two polar opposite strangers conspiring and working together to take down an enemy and become a poker champion.Do I know anything about poker? No. OK, I’ll be honest, I was mostly intrigued by the characters’ names 🤓
Where do I even start?🧍🏻♀️ Well…Surprise!! I read a contemporary romance and ended up devouring it in just 2 days. I even sacrificed my sleep on a weekday because I couldn’t put it down once I started. Started this ARC without checking it on Goodreads, so I was completely caught off guard by the sudden fake dating trope, and honestly, it made the journey even better!! 😆
I loved how naturally their relationship developed despite all the schemes and deception, and how they embraced their vulnerabilities and shared traumas. The story flowed so effortlessly, and the plot twists completely caught me off guard and kept me on edge. I was so eager to see how everything would unfold. THIS BOOK WAS WORTH EVERY SECOND 😭🫶🏻🫶🏻
icb we were robbed of their wedding after being "engaged" the whole time!! I absolutely loved their flirty banter and how they kept up their facades. Despite her unhinged and chaotic personality, Rose is such a sweet and thoughtful woman, so incredibly creative in finding ways to help Levi overcome his weaknesses. And Levi truly lives by his principle of being a gentleman, even though he sometimes acts like he doesn’t care about Rose. I swear, at some point, I totally forgot they were just faking it. ANYWAY, CHAPTER 12 IS LIVING IN MY HEAD, RENT-FREE 😭💖💖

Oh My God!!!
What have I just read. I’m in love with every single one of these characters. This is how you write a compelling book that grips you from page 1 till the end and still wanting more…
There was such a perfect balance between the emotions and the plot that I was both sobbing at the next moment blushing!
I cannot wait for the next sequel. Also what a wonderful job done by JenniferHiigins for translating this into English! It felt effortless!
Thankyou #Netgalley for providing an arc l really hope to read the next one soon. 🤞🏼

This was a decent book that I had a fun time reading. I liked how unique that characters were and the flow of the story. I wouldn’t say the romance was all that compelling but it was still nice. I wish the characters were honest with each other sooner rather than holding out for so long but it was an okay read. 3.5 stars
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the arc

🎴 A High-Stakes Romance That Keeps You on the Edge of Your Seat
I picked up Ace of Hearts by Morgane Moncomble with high expectations, and let me tell you, it did not disappoint. From the very first page, I was drawn into a world where poker isn't just a game—it's a metaphor for life, love, and the risks we're willing to take.
🃏 Plot & Setting: A Thrilling Backdrop
Set in the neon-lit streets of Las Vegas, the story follows Rose and Levi, two individuals with their own secrets and scars. Rose, a talented poker player with a troubled past, and Levi, a professional gambler with a mission, team up for a high-stakes tournament. What starts as a strategic partnership soon blurs the lines between deception and genuine connection.
The poker scenes are intense and well-written, making even a novice like me feel the tension of the game. The stakes aren't just about money; they're about trust, vulnerability, and the choices that define us.
❤️ Characters: Complex and Compelling
Levi is the kind of character you can't help but root for. His depth, vulnerability, and growth throughout the story are beautifully portrayed. Rose, on the other hand, is a bit more complex. Initially, I found her hard to connect with, but as the story progressed, I understood her better and appreciated her strength and resilience.
Their chemistry is undeniable. The slow-burn romance between them is filled with tension, banter, and moments that made my heart race. It's the kind of relationship that builds gradually, making every touch and glance feel significant.
🎭 Themes: Love, Lies, and Redemption
At its core, Ace of Hearts is about the games we play—not just at the poker table, but in our relationships and with ourselves. The themes of trust, redemption, and the consequences of our actions are explored in a way that's both engaging and thought-provoking.
The plot twists kept me on my toes. Just when I thought I had it figured out, Moncomble threw in a curveball that left me gasping. The pacing is spot-on, with each chapter building on the last, leading to a climax that was both satisfying and emotionally resonant.
🌟 Final Thoughts
While I thoroughly enjoyed the book, I did find a few moments where the pacing lagged slightly, and some of the secondary characters could have been more fleshed out. However, these are minor critiques in an otherwise captivating story.

The concept of the book was really good but i really struggled to get into it. there was lots of in depth knowledge about poker, and as someone who has never played poker before i struggled to keep up. there was definitely chemistry between the characters, it was just the amount of poker jargon used became very confusing. however if you love or just understand poker better than i do you will find this book super enjoyable.
